Lynsay Sands's Argeneau series is usually a light, fun-filled vampire romp of matchmaking, life-mates and the odd problem. This one lived up to that and I give it 3.5 stars.
Jeaniene Frost's story of Cat & Bones and the rest of the gang from the Night Huntress series was just spot on. We had mysterious brothers, explosions, sea voyages, vampires possessed by demons and a surprise birthday party. This one was a definite 5 stars and I recommend it to all those readers who enjoy Cat & Bones. ...more
This was the 2nd attempt to read this book. At last I finished it. It wasn't bad just a bit boring and not as funny as the previous books in the serieThis was the 2nd attempt to read this book. At last I finished it. It wasn't bad just a bit boring and not as funny as the previous books in the series.
It did have a few funny bits, leeches, bears and other interruptions to intimate moments, but the first half of the book just really dragged.
Mortimer, one of the enforcers, meets his life mate while looking for a rogue vamp. Sam is the eldest of 3 sisters and they are holidaying at their lake house which is next door to a vamp holiday house. Decker & Brinker are the other 2 vamps also looking for the rogue. And no the other 2 vamps don't pair up with the other 2 sisters.
I'll be reading the rest of the series, and hope they are more like the earlier books.

As her only daughterBook #8 in the Argeneau Vampire series, and Marguerite, the matriarch of the family is still missing, believed to be in England. As her only daughter was due to give birth and Marguerite hasn't checked in, all the family is very worried.
Thomas, her nephew, but raised by her is the only one immediately available to go to England and start the search, the others will come when they can.
Inez Urso, a VP in the English branch of the Argeneau family business is detailed to assist him. Due to Bastien, the boss, being distracted he fails to tell Thomas he's being picked up at the airport and Inez that she is helping him find Marguerite.
Once the misunderstandings are sorted, Thomas realises Inez is his lifemate, but then the attacks start happening.
There were some very funny moments, as always ...
"I'm Canadian. We're not responsible for Baywatch. You can't blame that on us." "Just the Pamela Anderson part," Inez suggested with amusement. "Only partially, I'm sure her implants are American," Thomas assured her..."
"Have you tried to talk to her?" "What would you like me to say Bastien? Oh, I'm sorry, Inez. I didn't mean to bite you, my fangs slipped."
This is one of those series that is easy to read, well written, fun, fluffy, lighthearted, but ultimately you'll read the next one when you get around to it or you need a pick-me-up....more
