LateWow, just wow!!!! This is the first Anne Bishop book I've read, and I've got to say the world & character building is first-class all the way.
Lately, every book I've read without a strong kick-ass heroine has been extremely disappointing and yet this gem was quietly sitting on my bookshelf waiting to be discovered.
Meg comes across as a shy helpless human, but she doesn't smell like prey and that confuses all the shifters. She has led an extremely sheltered, trapped life, but has a strong sense of right & wrong. Meg is strong inside and draws all the good-natured humans and Others to her, just by being herself, without her consciously doing anything.
Soooo glad I picked this book up and really looking forward to the next one....more

This book still has the over-the-top great action, humour and oddball alien characters as the previous two books, just with added smoothness due to better editing.
Our heroine is Zoey Jones, cousin of Kaylee Jones from book #1 Just My Luck and the hero is Voss, the Overlord's Battle Commander. Zarek the Overlord is the hero of book #2 The Warlord's Comeuppance and pops in occasionally to spice things up.
There is a Galactic War going on between Earth, the Colettis', the Alliance and their allies against the Tai-Kok and Rodan. The reason being that the Tai-Kok and Rodan like to eat us, we taste good. So there is lots of scope for mayhem and destruction and lots of explosions.
And why do aliens always want to tattoo the Jones girls?
I must say though, I missed Woo, the baby Tabor that attached itself to Voss in the first book.
Looking forward to #4 Reality Bites, especially after the last line of this one....more

I love how Gail incorporates her local knowledge of Arizona in this story, I felt like I was there, along with the heat and the flies :)
Our kicka$$ heroine Zelda Dragos (love the name) is an unemployed psychic and demon slayer and finding it tough to make a buck in this economic climate, when she chances on a story of Montezuma's gold and just knows it is hers.
The only drawback is the hero, Derek Sloan, ex-Navy Seal Commander and CIA operative. He found the link to the treasure and wasn't happy when the Mexican government appropriated the medallion. Our intrepid adventurers meet at the Museum, both intent on stealing the medallion.
Both have coooooll electronic toys, crazy relatives, lots of secret contacts, lots of stamina, plus Zelda has her ghostly Grandma to assist her.
This story has everything. Kidnapping, repeatedly, an Apache warrior, Aztec myths coming to life, Godiva chocolate, James Bond style action, laughs aplenty, Lear Jet, more chocolate, bikers, helicopter crash, Excalibur and Knights, Hummers flipping, and a heroine who laughs at handcuffs and seriously crazy relatives.
Gail is an autobuy for me, as all her stories are exciting, HEA, very funny, kicka$$ heroines, alpha males who underestimate the good gal at the beginning but love how strong their mates really are, by the end.
I'd love a sequel, Gail, you listening?
Now we just have to wait for Vexing Voss, #3 in the Coletti Warlords series.
An ARC of this story was provided by the Author, for a free and unbiased review.

Pia a half breed, is alone in the world and has stupidly let it slip to her boyfriend, now her ex, she can slip past locks. He lets it out he can steal anything and blackmails Pia into stealing from Dragos Culebre. He is the most feared and respected of the Wyrkind.
Pia doesn't expect to survive the stealing but doesn't have any choice.
Dragos, discovers the theft and begins chasing Pia. Dragos's curiousity has been aroused and he alone wants to unravel the mystery that is Pia. Meanwhile Pia had been taught her whole life by her mother to keep in the background, never say anything to anyone about who she is or what she can do.
As Dragos says, he is no longer Bored Bored Bored. And he doesn't know what is happening but he is becoming more aggressive, possessive and obsessive about Pia.
So once Dragos catches up to Pia and doesn't rend her, others step in and try to disrupt this fledging relationship. He gets poisoned, they have a car wreck, and get kidnapped by Goblins and taken to Other, where they face armies of Goblins and Dark Fae before escaping back to our world. Then the fun begins.
Really enjoyed this first in series book, already pre-ordered the rest of them. Well done, Thea Harrison!

This story is Talree's father Zarek, the Overlord of the Coletti Empire and Detja, the Farin thief.
Detja, a complicated female, also known as The Ghost, is on a mission to retrieve a medallion stolen from her friend, when she runs across Zarek, who has actually been looking for her.
Adnan, a shapeshifter, has been a father to Detja since her own parents were killed when she was little. They share a psychic bond and this is both a good & bad thing. Good in that he can save her if necessary and bad in that he eats people and now needs to go regenerate or he becomes a killing maching, so must sever their connection. He can't leave her all alone & picks Zarek to look after and bond with her.
She of course doesn't agree that she needs anyone and is particularly afraid of what will happen if she bonds to the most feared person in the galaxy.
Loved this latest addition to the Coletti world, and looking forward later this year to the newest - Vexing Voss. ...more

Eve, daughter of a Fallen Angel, now Demon Lord Asael, is tricked by her brothers into saving a royal dragon egg. General Ranton, dragon prince finds Eve holding the egg and decides to take her back to dragon territory to 'interrogate' her and also to find out who stole the egg.
Along the way Ranton decides to keep her and the young dragon king also wants to keep her.

It is your typical Alien abducts Earth girl scenario, except a bunch of girls get grabbed and neither of them can communicate with each other.
This story is about how these very different people learn to communicate, learn to trust and fall in love all whilst foiling the American military and Government. And how to terraform Mars, marsaform just doesn't sound right. LOL.
Bree is an ordinary girl in farm belt America when an alien pod descends on her farmhouse and starts dismantling it. The military quickly descends on her place as well and they end up doing more damage.
Galen, head of the aliens spots Bree and immediately wants her for his own. Unknowingly, she is tagged, which helps in her later abduction.
I enjoy Angelique Anjou's writing and wish she would do more of it. ...more
