I am team Warner. :D:D After reading this book, I am definitely a Warner fan. I had a hard time remembering what happened in Shatter Me (the first book) but this novella helped to juggle my memory. :D
I am now excited to get into Unravel Me, and the new book that just came out this year: Ignite Me. :D(less)

While we're finally getting a taste of his humanity in this book, it was completely unnecessary. Don't get me wrong, I loved how this book was a means for closure and it was written from Calebs perspective, I just think it was written more for the audience sake than it was for the characters if that makes sense. Of course Caleb and Livvies relationship has come along way, I just think the outcome may have been a little far fetched.

Because surely I'm mentally unstable if I say that I truly have fallen for this sick son-of-a-bitch Caleb. WHY?! I'll tell you why, when I know the answer myself.

Make no mistake, this is no romance...This book is not for everyone. Certain themes in this book will not sit well with even adults. But there's something so dark and haunting that makes what happens in this book raw and real.
This is the kind of book of what would have happened if the girl from Taken (the movie) never had a kickass dad like Liam Neeson to rescue her.
While I'm disturbed at some events that happened in this book, the compelling writing sucks you in so deep, you realize you're drowning in emotions that you can't explain. My heart ached for this girl, and I was set in stone that I absolutely HATED the guy, but something about their relationship (if you can call it that) compelled me to keep reading.
The concept of someone having Stockholm Syndrome always intrigued me. So, I was instantly drawn to this story. The disturbing scenes however, I can solely do without. But that's what makes this story so dark and twisted.
Caleb is a human trafficker, abuser, murderer and rapist (view spoiler)[(although his forced sexual acts actually bring the girl pleasure) (hide spoiler)] This is a man that deserves to be caged, muzzled and restrained...some even say worth the death chair. He's twisted, and downright sick in the head (view spoiler)[(thanks to his tortured past as a sex slave) (hide spoiler)]but somehow he forms a connection with the reader. Whether that connection is brewed from hatred, or not, it's there.
I couldn't for the life of me find the heart to even sympathize with Caleb, not even for a second, and yet his character was written so well. He's the worst kind of predator because he's young and gorgeous. He's compelling, and he's convincing. All of those that mask the perverse monster side of him. And what stings more, is he's capable of comfort.
I cringed in places, I cried in places, and my heart broke in places in this book. And still, I couldn't stop reading. In fact, I didn't realize the impact this story had on me, until a few days later when I couldn't get this book out of my mind.
For that, I have branded this book a five star. If something like this can haunt my waking thoughts, it deserves recognition.
Slight warning: This book is not for the faint-hearted.

I liked the Italian Mob aspect in this book. That's what initially drew me to the story, and then the romance. I loved Mia and Marcus as a couple. I didn't feel annoyed at anything about them. Sure, it was cheesy, predictable and a little unrealistic, but I enjoyed it.
I'm still intrigued to know what will happen to them after finishing this book, and want to know what is installed in the next book.
The only let down I will say about this book is the writing style. It's awkward and hard to get a hold of. It kept throwing me out of the story. The typos bothered me little, it was mainly the style of writing. There were awkward jumps and too many unstructured sentences, but other than that, it was enjoyable.
Side Note: I had a name crush on Mia. I LOVE that name. :D
