It may have been a little uneventful and boring in the start but still, I loved it!! I felt every single emotion that Rose did everytime she went through hard times dealing with her loss, but I totally digged the plotline, this book had me on edge the minute I opened it, I was expecting the unexpected everytime I read the next line, I literally was biting my nails...Rose leads a difficult life and I feel for her always putting other people first...she is totally selfless although her impulses are out of control, still she has an unattainable sacastic wit, which makes her a badass teen, completely someone I relate too...and I love it how she can make a horrible situation turn into something funny and less nerve racking!! Anyway all in all this book lived up to it's hype!!...more

Go out and buy the book instead!!!...more

It gives a new meaning to the vampire world having a variety of good and bad vamps and even half bred vamps so thats what intrigued me firsthand, then the characters. I love the characters she created...all very real, especially Rose Hathaway, shes a strong, witty, big mouth teen who falls in love with her mentor. Dimitri Belikov which in my opinion will have girls wishing they could meet their own Russian God lol I certainly do!!! A good-read if you're looking for something to bite into!!!...more

It follows a young teenage girl Rose Hathaway, whom might I add is the biggest badass ever!!!,She's a strong character and honestly she has the whole deal of being a teenager...I mean she's popular, not rich, a smartass, has a problem with authority, a flirt, a runaway, an alcoholic, sometimes immature, and a virgin...she's practically a whole school assembly packed into one person...and shares an incredible bond with her bestfriend Lissa...it includes a mixture of romance, humor, suspense and not to mention out of control teenage impulses that drive authority insane...but the best part is Dimitri Belikov who is so dreamy but also could be described sooooo sexy, although she left out the sexual tension...but still he's literally a Russian God :P:P What intrigued me the most was that Mead gave us an insight of the Romanian mythology creatures such as Moroi, Strigoi, and the odd bulgarian mythological creatures like dhampirs...which are different types of vampires that Russian tend to 'believe' exist. (In a mythological sense) and it kind of gave me a new fettish with Russia...so I advise you to read them...WARNING...once you pop, you can't stop!!...more

OMG that sounds like Xmen lol. I keep thinking that maybe she had the same thought, but just had the courage to write a book similar to its characters? If you're a Xmen fan like me, then you'd know why. Needless to say I love her writing style. The pacing is good, the characterization is plausible, but not as strong as it could be. This is a book definitely for tweens. THough if I must throw some constructive criticism in there, I need to point out that this series has been spoilt with too many 'plot cliche no-no's' lolz...what I mean by that, is it's totally predictable. And sometimes you feel the need to roll your eyes at everything lmfao...with the 'evil woman' the 'mad scientist' the 'lets split up scenario' its a horror cliche madman.
I actualy really loved Dereks character. I could've sworn Chloe and him were meant for each other at the start, just by how she described him in detail, and Simon was like a stand in guy lol... I knew from the moment Derek kept popping up that there was chemistry between the two (Chloe and Derek), and how little Simon was mentioned was a total give away. His character was probably the most thought out. He went from shit to sugar throughout the books. I mean that in a good way lolz...yes he's misunderstood, and a little 'weird' but the whole coming together at the end made it seem like Armstrong spent time on his character and a 'little' time on our heroine. I know how this is only a little tween book, but I would've LOVED more of a little romance thing going on, in my opinion, Armstrong should do one last book, just to give it some closure. To me it seemed too 'abrupt' at the end. Yeah, the heroine got what she wanted, she developed at some point, but it seemed too...i don't know...too sweet? Like she just couldn't wait to stop writing...almost like saying 'yay they live happily-ever-after' and that's that! Goodbye!! Leaving me to search for more pages at the end lmfao...What ever happened to bitter sweet? Or is that too 'overrated' nowadays? lol Okay I'm just being weird. You must be thinking, 'oh god what a bad review, and I sound like a total snob, why the hell would I rate it a five star?!' lmfao Well, I gave this a five star for three reasons:
Pacing Writing Style Ideas (though it's a little Xmen inspired lol)
If it wasn't for those three key points I may have rated it a two lolz (I'm not that harsh though ;P)...more
