My only complaint was that it is NOT a completely clean read. And the fact that I loved it SO much that I had to BUY it in print after reading it in PDF so that I could white-out the few "eww" parts, just shows how much I loved this book! I was rivoted reading this! I couldn't stop! This takes place as the last of the Native Americans are trying to maintain their independence while the Americans and Mexicans are trying to scout out and round up the renegades who are not on a reservation yet. I loved that the hero(who's Native American) is angry and "tortured" and actually HATES the heroin(who's white) through a good portion of the story. I loved his relationship with his brother and that he respects and loves his brother enough to keep his promise to him not to kill her. This is not a story where they meet and fall in love super fast. I loved the hero's "dog signals" to get the heroin to do as he needed her to do, as he refused to speak in English to communicate with her. The hero was SUPER-FINE!, and I'm pretty sure I want my very own Native American now!!=D While reading this I had to go find an actor that could represent him and I found the perfect one, Eddie Spears!! Here's a video of him with perfect music that sets the mood for the book...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8XyII...
(My rant for wishing this would have been a clean read)...For me, the explicit scenes, although sparse and not terribly descriptive, diminished the intense story and the romantic beauty that could have been! When too much is put out there, it lessens the giddiness I feel about the couple when they finally do realize their feelings for each other. The first time the hero shows his feelings to her, he showed them by sex, and that was SOOOO disappointing, (although, I must say, at least he considered them married after that, so that made it a bit more "right", but I do wish it at least wouldn't have been explicitly told). How I wish authors that aren't just writing to write erotica for their stories, but truly have a wonderful, passionate story to tell, would write clean or at least do two versions, one that is edited to be a clean read! (I just bought this in print now so I can take a black crayon or white-out to those parts so I can enjoy reading it again and again without the "eww"!)

I was looking forward to some twists and turns and having Cole figure out SOMETHING, ANYTHING! about why they became wolves and how to fix it! I wanted some big reveal, but we get nothing but a lot of being inside each of their heads a lot, which I found a bit tedious and boring...I'd find my mind wandering and then forget whos POV I was in and have to regroup and remember who's I was in at the time. This one just seemed more depressing and it didn't grab me and make me FEEL like the other two did. And I don't think I ever chuckled in this one either. But it did end nicely and it was worth the read, I just really, really would have liked some major new revelation or twist or... just something.... something was missing from this one that was there in the first two.
Content: Oh, also there was some innapropriate content that I thought was completely unneccessary, for example...(Sam remembering when he was a boy hearing Ulrik's loud lovemaking from in the next room, but he was pretty sure he was by himself.) Ugh! Not neccessary to put that in there for a YA book in my opinion!(less)

This author has a wonderful imagination and a great flare for description and angsty relationships full of drama that I love. BUT....the relationship drama has changed. I no longer CARE! I give ONE star for the large amount of bad/inappropriate content, 2 stars for added characters I didn't care about, and FIVE stars for the MAIN story line. Overall, I'll have to go with 2 STARS. I devoured the first 3 books, was disappointed in the 4th, and started out loving this one for about a 3rd of it, then page after page starts focusing on all these different couples "getting it on". Ugh! And it happens time and time again! There is heated/sexual vampire blood drinking, faery drugs use, ect. I feel like the author has a "gay pride" agenda going on with Alec and Magnus. Also, I don't like Isabelle for Simon. And I miss the Jace, Clary, Simon triangle I think. And I'm not at all swooning over Jace like I was in the first 3 books. Probably because he's not himself(but that's the whole book!) I do love when we get to see a glimps of the old, tortured Jace when the rune is messed up for a bit near the end. The story does start getting better again then. I think Sebastian is my favorite character in this book!(That's sad!) But at this point, the only thing that can redeem this series, in my opinion, is if Sebastian is redeemed and becomes good. I do like the angle the author is taking with Jace and Sebastian being connected, and Sebastian being drawn to Clary, but there is so much other crap that I don't care about thrown in. I think she could have easily made this a 4 book series instead of 6. (less)

I hated that letting vampires feed on you was addictive and gave you a high. I came across the F word several times. Maybe the book got better, but because of those things, I just didn't want to continue...it really didn't hold my interest and I didn't CARE about anyone in the book.(less)

I'll probably not be reading this.:( Darn, because if it were just kept cleaner, it sounds like it'd be really good!(less)
