I have to admit that I haven’t read any of the previous books in the series, but that doesn’t matter, you can read this book on its own.
Brant Cates is on his way to attend his brother’s wedding, but he decides to take a side stop at the famous Henhouse, believing it’s abandoned. But some of the old hens are still living in the Henhouse and they don’t like strangers on their land. The story goes that Brant’s great-grandfather was killed there during one of his visits. He believes that the murder of his great-grandfather sparkled the “Cates Curse “. Never in a million years could he imagine getting shot, then drugged and kept captive by the three old hens in order to stop him from reporting them to the police.
Elizabeth Murphy works in the local library as the head librarian and is also the owner of the “Miss Hattie’s Henhouse”. Lizzie was raised by only by her mother and was taught that men were all “scumbags”, but that never stopped Lizzie from reading her beloved romance novels. She wants to sell the Henhouse, but the three little old hens who still love there won’t let her. Their plan is to re-opening the Henhouse in the old glory and they might have a plan to just to that.
I loved Brant and Lizzie together; from their first meeting you can sense the huge attraction between them. Yes, they are definitely the opposite of each other, but that won’t stop chemistry between them. And of course with a little help of the three old hens, they never stand a chance against fate and love.
Katie Lane has written a great romance novel with a fabulous storyline, great characters and a terrific mystery to solve. I just loved reading this light read, I have read one other novel by this author and I’m definitely going to check out the others. I know I will have a great time reading them. (less)

I loved the fact that she used Mistletoe as the manor’s name and that some of the servants had the surname Christmas.
I’m fortunate to have been given the opportunity to read this copy of His Mistletoe Bride by this author for an honest review. This was my first historical novel that I read by Vanessa Kelly and I have to say that she has a great writing style.
Phoebe Linville travels from America to England to meet and live with her grandfather from her mother’s side, after both her parents died. She hopes to finally find the acceptance she desperately craves. After weeks on the sea she arrives in England only to discover that her grandfather has passed away too. Will she accept her grandfather’s last wish or should she return to America alone?
Major Lucas Stanton became the new Lord Merritt when her grandfather past away, now he feels obligated to make sure the old man’s last wish concerning his granddaughter will be followed. Luckily the whole family wants to meet and get to know her and decides to step in.
The chemistry between Lucas and Phoebe was there from the first moment they met, but it became clear that they both wanted something different in their relationship. While Phoebe wants love and family, Lucas only wants Phoebe in his life but at a safe distance with his heart behind the wall he built. We all know that love and determination of a woman is always stronger, so Lucas is in for the ride of his life.
I just loved Phoebe’s English family and the way they accept and welcome Phoebe in their family. The moment they meet her they pull her in the family circle and embrace her as one of theirs from the start.
Vanessa Kelly has written an amazing holiday historical romance novel full of great characters, a good holiday season world building and a fabulous storyline. I’m definitely going to check out her other historical novels because I know I will have a great time reading them.(less)

I was given the opportunity to read and review this book as part of a blog tour and I’m glad I was part of it, because I enjoyed reading it.
Robyn Matthers is flying back to the States after spending quite some year in Europe. Her father is ill and in the hospital and he needs to slow down in order to survive. Robyn knows she has to go back and take charge of her father’s roadhouse and manages his ice hockey team. She also hopes to restore the distance between them after the years of separation. But the most important issue she has to deal with is to see if she can be in her hometown again. Something happened in her teenage years and she has been dealing with that ever since.
Cole Ryan meets Robyn at the airport and there is an immediate attraction between them. Cole has some issues to deal with too, because it appears his ex-girlfriend left him for his brother and they want him to accept it. He needs a new start and takes an offer to work at a medical research lab in the same town as Robyn. And it appears he isn’t a bad ice hockey player either.
I loved Robyn and Cole together, even though they only just met each other at the airport; they seemed to understand each other quite well. Both have some baggage from the past they need to close, but with the help of the other they are able to do just that.
Mandy Baggot has written a great novel with strong main characters, good secondary characters and a great storyline. I’m definitely going to check out some of her other books; because I know I’ll have a good time reading them.(less)

Bridger was a very entertaining debut novel. I was asked by this author for an honest review and when I read the book description I thought it was interesting.
Caleb is a young man who wakes up one morning to discover that he is in dog form. It appears he is from a shifter family and apparently can shift into a dog. Caleb’s mother left him and his father six years ago and never bothers to tell them that she is from a canine shifter family. Because Caleb never showed any signs that he inherited the gene, his aunt and uncle never prepared him. Luckily for Caleb his father is a fabulous man who will do anything for his son and support him in every way he can.
Caleb and his father go to Los Angeles to visit Caleb’s shifter family, where he can learn to control his shifting and learn more about the shifter society. They both face the pack alpha, which happens to be a big bad wolf and if they don’t follow the shifter rules, there will be consequences.
J. Bridger has written a great debut novel, with lots of humor, great characters and a little mystery crime to solve. I found myself turning page after page so I could read what Caleb was doing next. I loved Caleb’s interaction with his own dog, it appears he can communicate with him after his first shift and I have to say there were funny moments. I’m curious to see how this story will continue in the second book of this series.(less)

It’s a book full of humor, steamy scenes and a huge attraction between the main characters Cassie and James.
Cassie McPherson is a strong independent woman who works for the family’s construction business. Lately they are losing some major jobs to a new rival in the business and her father is furious about it. Since the holidays are coming up Cassie will try to schedule a meeting with this James Sutton right after Christmas and hopefully sort things out. But first she has to go to the Company Christmas party and in order to keep the matchmakers away she hired an escort for company.
James Sutton is a handsome determined man who wants to succeed with his new business, but he isn’t aware that the major company M&M Construction sees him as a threat. When James arrives at the M&M Construction building for a meeting with the boss Al McPherson, he meets Cassie for the first time. She mistakes him for the hired escort and since he already is in tuxedo he goes along without revealing his identity. James feels attracted to Cassie and wants to enjoy the evening with her, but how does he tell her he’s the one and only James Sutton, the owner of the rival company.
I loved Cassie and James together, even though they are “enemies” without knowing, the attraction between them is huge. They enjoy each other’s company until Cassie discovers the truth and of course she is mad as hell. Especially when James had enough time to tell her the truth, but luckily for them it all turns out at the end.
I also loved the side love story between Cassie’s best friend and one of her brothers. They have been walking around in circles with their feelings for each other and with a little help of a great Aunt and a little stubborn girl; they are pushed in the right direction.
Katie Lane has written a fabulous novel with great characters, funny scenes and a tight family bond. I’m definitely going to check out more of Miss Lane’s book, because I love her writing and characters.
I received this novel as an ARC, courtesy of Net Galley(less)

I have to say this novella had me from the start, it was great and I was craving for more at the end.
In this novella we meet Bell, the Earl of Bellingham; he is a man who likes everything in his life in order and totally under control. His latest mistress is demanding too much of his time and he wants to send her off, but she is one step ahead of him and leaves him for another men. Besides that his best friend is getting married and his chef just resigned his job.
Two of his newest friends Colin Brockhurst and Harry Norcliffe forces Bell back into society to search for a new mistress. They think the lovely new widow in town is perfect for Bell and when he sets his eyes on her he has to agree that she fit the bill, but there is one small problem….she isn’t that interested.
This novella is definitely meant to introduce the characters of the Sinful Scoundrels series. The readers will not find a happy ending in this novella, but an unfinished business between Bell and Laura.
I liked both main characters Bell and Laura from the little I’ve read of them in this short story. I loved the little seduction and the interaction between them and I’m looking forward to read the first book in this series to see how it will turns out between Bell and Laura. I cannot wait and find out.(less)

Ryan is the First novel in her Coursodon Dimension Series. It’s a mix of contemporary romance with gorgeous hunks and magic. I was contacted by the author for an honest review and when I read the description of the book I knew I had to read it.
Hailey Parrish is a divorced woman who loves her life and her books. She is an avid reader and she just decided to buy a Kindle because space is running out for her beloved books. The moment she start using her new kindle, she has some strange cravings and she seems to hear a voice inside her head. But that is not all; she doesn’t understand why this handsome man has an interest in her ordinary self.
Alex Sunderland has a reason to approach Hailey; it seems his good old friend Sebastian Kess has transferred his spirit into an electronic device when he was on the edge of death. That electronic device happens to be Hailey’s new kindle, through a little shock Sebastian’s spirit turns up inside Hailey’s body and Alex is there to help Sebastian back into his own body and falls for Hailey along the way.
I loved Hailey and Alex; she is funny, easy going and very understandable in the end. When Alex explains everything to her, she struggles a little, finding it all hard to believe. But when Alex gives her a little demonstration she has to believe him and wants to help them in the end. Alex is a guy everyone wants to fall in love with, he’s good-looking and a true friend. I even fell in love with Sebastian and his funny comments.
M.L. Ryan has written a great first book in this series, it has great characters, good storyline and a world that I want to know more about. So I’ll definitely read the next novel in this series, because with this ending I really need to find out what happens next.(less)

Hogan is the first novel in the Vagilate Series and I liked it. I think I cannot get enough of the paranormal genre; I just love it too much. This novel isn’t an exception because it had the entire right basis; witches, demons, magic, danger, action and let not forget love.
Isla and Jeremiah are the main characters and I just love them. Jeremiah is a doctor and a writer; ever since he was young he was intrigued by the paranormal activity in the world. When he stumbles upon this book explaining about witches and hears the rumors of a witch living on this small Island in Scotland, he goes out to investigate. When he meets Isla for the first time he is immediately drawn too her, not only because she might be the witch he is looking for but also by her beauty on both the in- and outside.
Isla has moved to the island ten years before; trying to build a new life after her mother tried to kill her, so she starts her own outdoor business, taking customers on hiking trips, kayaking and other outdoor adventures. But living on the island isn’t easy, especially when people start noticing her strange tattoo on the back of her neck and soon the rumors start about her being a witch. Her only friends are Callum and Jack, along with her young employees Amy, Brynne and Kieran.
Then Jeremiah steps into her life and things are getting more complicated and dangerous than before, because not only she discovers she is a witch, but an evil demon is after her and the people around her.
I loved Isla and Jeremiah, they are both strong characters. He is after a great story at first, but when he meets Isla and finds her in danger, he is determined to help her and keep her save. When she finds out about his first intentions, she is angry at first but she’ll forgive him when he puts his life in danger to keep her save.
Secondary characters Callum, Jack, Amy, Brynne and Kieran are fabulous. When Isla and Jeremiah decided to tell them the truth about her past and heritage, they just accept it and have her back in the line of the fire. Isla is a lucky woman to have such a great bunch of friends.
J.K. Hogan has written a great novel with strong and determined characters, a fabulous world building and the most important a good storyline. It was good from the first page and I found myself struggling to put it down, so I cannot wait to see what will happens in the next novel in the series. (less)
