Rhiannon has taken her time to introduce a new world to readers and in doing so she has her descriptions of this new world lined out and ready for you to read and while you are reading about it you can visualize the places and things she is describing. To me this is crucial when building a new world because telling a story and not giving us any background is very annoying but Rhiannon pulls it off and it made me love this series even more.
Kaliel is one of the main characters and she is a great character. Choosing to do what she wants and follow her heart she sets things into motion that she never expected to. You know the saying the heart wants what the heart wants but at what cost are you willing to pay? For Kaliel it is a matter of life and death and war. What is she willing to surrender in order to be with Krishani?
Krishani is a great character as well as he played his part and he was willing to sacrifice for what he wanted in the end. This story is such a must read I kept saying to my friend who buddy read this with me did you get that, is that so, why is that happening like this was for real. We laughed and we cried and man the ending is something else that had me screaming I needed more no I wanted more because I was not ready to see this world go yet. (less)

When I first read the blurb and saw the book cover I was excited to read it. I knew I had read very limited books about about faeries, so I was excited to read this book. With that being said I have to say that the book and I did not connect. I tried very hard to keep reading it but I was so lost and confused. I think the problem is that I have never really read anything like this where you are in space on minute and then somewhere else the next.
I did skip around and try reading bits from the other chapters and some things were really good and others I could not follow. I did however enjoy the space opera theme and the fae. I have promised myself that I am going on the hunt to read more fairy books and then come back and try and re-read this book. I really enjoyed the beginning so I am going to try and re-read it soon. I think I need to read some more books in this genre and then I can judge the book once again.
Emily has done a fantastic job describing the worlds and this book has lot's of action in it. So if you have read other fairy books and you like the other outer world theme this book is for!
This book is due out for release on May 01, 2012 keep your eye out for the book! Happy Reading! Go on a wonderful adventure to a new world where things are not always as they seem!(less)

Graffiti Moon had me on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading it. This story is about love and trust and friendship. A HUGE THANK YOU to NetGalley for allowing me to read this book before it re-releases on Valentine's Day.
Lucy has just graduated from high school and she excited to be done with school. She has a whole summer ahead of her to work and save up for college. On this last day of school she and her best friends decide to spend a night out having fun before the real work starts. They all meet up at a cafe and are talking about the last day of school and what the summer holds for them when in walks Dylan, Ed, and Leo. Jazz sees Leo and she says OMG I have to meet him. So she goes over to the boys and invites them over to the table. Daisy and Lucy are mad because Daisy is dating Dylan and Lucy went on a date with Ed that did not end so well. But as girls are they stick with Jazz and sit uncomfortable at the table while they make plans.
Lucy is not to thrilled because she wants to go out and find Shadow who is a graffiti artist who draws pictures all over town and she is in love with his art. She would like to meet him just to talk to him and see him draw some stuff on the wall. The only thing is is that no one knows who Shadow is, that is until Ed says he knows who Shadow is. He and Lucy take off in search of Shadow and what Lucy finds is that she still has feelings for Ed and can totally see herself as his girl. As the night goes on Ed is showing Lucy all the drawings that are done by Shadow. But Ed is keeping a secret from Lucy and he really wants to tell her but he is not sure what she will say or do because the last time they had a date he did something to make her mad and she broke his nose.
As the story goes on you see things unfold and see how each girl has their own epic and life altering moment. Lucy and Jazz and Daisy will find themselves as well as love and renewed friendship. This is a kind of story that has you on the edge of your seat because you are rooting for one thing and when that happens something else shows up unexpected and all the pieces of the puzzle fall into place. Ed will learn how to have faith in himself and others and Leo will find love and Dylan will learn how to love without feeling ashamed. (less)

I finished Defiance about an hour ago and I had to sit here at my desk and take a moment to gather my thoughts. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE LOVE LOVE this series and where it is heading. There are so many twists and turns for Maggie and Caleb that you never know what is going to happen to them.
Shelly is a brilliant writer as she draws you in as a reader but you feel like one of the characters in her book. I was so THRILLED when I received this ARC because I have been dying to find out what the Watson clan had in store for Maggie and Caleb. I started readuing it right away and could not put it down. There are some new characters that have been added to the series and they are great. They blend in with the rest of the characters and there are a few old characters that get a makeover and have a bigger role to fill.
Defiance starts off where Accordance left off. Maggie is the Visionary and the Jacobson clan could not be any happier. Their son Caleb has imprinted and everything seems to be working out just fine except the Watson clan hates them and they want to destroy the Jacobson clan. They continue to try and harm Maggie but Caleb is there for her and saves her more times then he care to think about.
The worst part that is coming is that Maggie and Caleb and all the clans have to meet up at the Reunification Ceremony that lasts a week and everyone is looking forward to meeting the Visionary and to see how this human named Maggie was gifted with such a gift. The Watson's want no part in it so they devise a plan to once again discredit the Jacobson's and Maggie.
In Defiance there are a lot of inner things that you find out and you find out what happended to the last Visionary. You will also find out some news that quite frankly BLEW my mind out the water! I stopped and re-read that part three times to make sure I read it right and then I screamed out LORD HAVE MERCY!!!!!!!!!!! hehehe a little dramatic but wait till you read it because you are going to be blown right out the water like I was. There are some sad parts as every story line has them but Shelly crafted them in such a beautiful way I couldn't help but cry.
Shelly also referenced to a song by Lifehouse called You and Me and this song is so fitting for this book and explains everything bit of emotion Maggie and Caleb have for on another. Click on the link to listen to the song http://youtu.be/ac3HkriqdGQ
I have so many quotes that I had to narrow them down. So here are a few quotes I hope you enjoy them I like I have!
"How about a dance, pretty lady," I heard behind me and turned to find Rodney; the one who found me and saved me in the woods that day at the Watson compound. I silently gasped and, without thinking, jumped to grab him around his neck. He held me to him and I felt him chuckle. I peeked over at Caleb, expecting to see a scowl of jealousy, but found only affection. He was still really grateful to Rodney as well. He saved my life, after all.
Our shoulders brushed as we walked and it sent shivers through me. One, because he was Caleb and his touch did powerful things to me. And two, I knew I'd be without that touch all night and I didn't even want to think about it.
Caleb tipped my chin up and wiped a tear from under my eye with his thumb. "You're so amazing," he whispered, listening to all my internal rants in my head. "I can't wait for you to be my wife."(less)
