Ella and Maddy are sisters but just not ordinary sisters, they are twins. The story is such a great one I don't want to ruin it for anyone with spoilers but I will say what I loved about this book.
1. The setting was perfect 2. The twins Ella and Maddy being different while still having that loving sister relationship 3. Loved loved loved Josh. I have a best friend who is just like him and I love him to pieces 4. The author really takes you on an emotional journey and you get to decide whether you like what's going on or not 5. Okay so I am going to say this first before I proceed with this review. This book was weird, amazing, and crazy all in one. I loved it and then I hateOkay so I am going to say this first before I proceed with this review. This book was weird, amazing, and crazy all in one. I loved it and then I hated it and then I would put it down and pick it up again only to love what was going on. A total and complete mind game this book was and I wasn't sure if I should laugh or cry be pissed thatb I kept reading or weep with joy.
Anyone ever read a book like that?
I mean this book was so crazy it had three virtues you had to live by or die. The three virtues are Honesty, Bravery, and Discovery. Really..............
Emmeline aka Em is living in her colony preparing for the long winter. She is about to turn of age to marry and has been proposed to but she is considered stained marked by evil so guys and girls stay away from her because she is labeled. Then something odd happens as she and her best friend Tom discover human bones by the river. Em becomes curious as to what is beyond the river and told never to go and look.
Well we all know what happens when we are told not to do something and this is where the story gets crazy and interesting all at once. What she finds in the woods beyond the river will forever change her and the colony.
On a side note there where some great characters in this book. Tom is Em's best friend. Kane is a shearer and is Em's friend. Brother Stockham who runs the colony, and last but not least Brother Jameson who I will spoile it is an asshole!...more
Okay let me start out by saying that I love Ally Condie and her writing. She has a way of grabbing you and pulling you into the world and keeping you there until you can't turn the pages anymore because the book is done.
I was taken at betrayal and underworld so when I started reading and found out what one twin did to the other and how the parents were dead I knew I was going to go on one hell of a journey and journey is what I got.Can you imagine living with your twin and doing everything together and one day your twin decides she is going to leave you? Man that is what happened to Rio.
In this story it flows so smoothly that as I was reading I could hear the artificial air breathing in and out and thinking about what a sirens voice sounds like. See because one of the twins is gifted with a gift so rare that she shares it with no one but her sister. Then when things go wrong one of the sisters will go on the hunt for the truth and what she finds out is more mystery and intrigue.
This is a great story and a must read coming out the end of October. Go out and get it!...more

Oh man so let me start by saying I woke up to see that my review was gone. I was mad to say the least because I worked very hard on not giving any spoilers or teasers. I will try once again and remember what I wrote but I have some new thoughts about this book that I have to express.
First I have to say that I loved this story. The characters were great and the background of the Military was so accurate I could not put the book down. Sam has never backed down from a dare and when her brother dares her to attend an elite military school she does it for two reasons the first being she loves her brother and will do anything for him and the second is she never ever backs down from a dare.
As the story progressed Sam was hazed and remained strong as hell. She was a kick ass character oh and did I tell you she is in love with her Drill Sergeant. Holy Moly this is one ride I loved and I need a book two please please please write a second book!...more

I have never ever laughed and cried so hard at the same time. Lord this is not your typical love story. This is a story of a broken boy and a broken girl and how together they are good but apart they are bad. I loved Rose character right away. She was a spitfire and no matter what came her way she still kept her head up and did everything she could. Her parents were a little on the crazy radical side and lord knows I would not want them for parents. Her parents tried to control everything in Rose's life and when Rose decided she had had enough they decided to call the police for reinforcement.
Chase I loved his character because he was hurting and broken and never ever stopped loving Rose. He had his issues with his parents but Chase learned to deal with them. He had his best friend Stein and he and Stein would hang out and go to school together and when things got real bad for Rose and Chase he stayed friends with both of them and helped them through their rough patch.
The only thing I did not like and I almost took a star for it was the ending. I needed more and closure and I needed to see where Rose and Chase ended up. I guess it does say some but the ending needed more for me. As I am a picky reader I wanted more and I hope there is going to be a second book....more

I swear Julia has created this other world and I could not get enough of it. I mean I was so dam glued to the book that I read through cooking and cleaning and eating dinner. I could not put it down and when you read it you will see why. The descriptions and the detail of the story and the characters will blow you away. So I am going to try and give a review with no teasers or spoilers in it.
Ember and Dante Hill are the only living brother and sister dragons. There birth was unique and the way they were raised was unique as well. They are different in all things but stay together to protect one another from being hunted down by the order of St. George who has taken on the task of killing all dragons. Ember and Dante hide in human form to stay away from the hunters and blend in with everyone else until Ember finds a rouge dragon and a hunter Garret finds them both.
Things are not always as black and white as we are taught and these three will soon find out tat everything they have been told may or may not be true. They will have to dig deep and fight hard to see the truth. Can a rouge dragon show a soldier the truth? Can Ember believe something else other than what she has been taught?...more
