In this book we are introduced to Peter a WW2 vet, who is encompassed to the devil, for making the ultimate sacrifice. The beginning of the book, you are introduced to him after he just gotten into a horrible car accident. He is then taken to the ER, and this is where you meet Dr. Allison Le Croux aka "Dr. Al". Both of these characters have their secrets, a secret they've kept to only the people closest to them. But with their encounter in the ER, changes both their lives, possibly forever.
And it doesn't stop there from this one encounter, the book is basically non-stop from there. Full of action, desire, longing, hatred, and skepticism.
As many of you know, we'll that's the people who actually read my reviews. I don't generally give too much information on what happens in the book itself. This way there isn't any spoilers, or anything that could be potentially important to the storyline.
I however do give my opinion on the book and the author, and so here it goes. This book the minute I read the first few pages drew me in, it was seriously non stop from the get go. The writing was well written, and had an easy to follow flow. The storyline itself is original and the characters and scenery layout was easy to imagine. This author did an amazing job with this book, and brava to her for doing this while she was on call and in her spare time. It definitely gives potential author hope that they themselves can do this as well.
And as for the book itself, I highly recommending picking up a copy and giving this book a go. I do wonder if there will be more books later on....more

Ayer, its the first book I've read by this author. With this being the first book I've ever read from Ayer, and this being the first book in the series, I think it's time to start my review.
Kailin a alpha panther shifter and wraith Hunter, lives an almost solitary life; except for the few friends she has and her job and the counseling center. One night after a wraith fight, Kailin comes across a horrific sight. Someone being thrown out of a car at high speed, she goes to check on the person. Only to find out it's a skinned alive panther or walkers as they call themselves. From here Kailin is on a mission to find out who is killing walkers as well as other shifters. While going through this she meets Logan the youngest member of Omega, a sector in the police department for abnormal things. They end up working together on this, while also forming a connection personally.
The description is pretty vague, and there is a reason for this. So much goes on in this book, giving away too much details will hinder the quality of the book. But I did enjoy this book, though it took me a while to read this, due to video games. Dang that Call of Duty, hangs my head. But no seriously it's good.the only drawback I have is that Kailin only shifts fully once in this book. Otherwise no complaints here....more

I generally do a reading challenge each month, it helps me decide what books to read that month, also helps me branch out into new series.
Well this months challenge and the undeniable desire to read some new to me books I chose: Kitty and the Midnight Hour, by Carrie Vaughn. This is the first book of the Kitty Norville series.
In this book we meet Kitty Norville, a very timid werewolf living in Colorado. She was at the bottom of the pack. Until she started her own radio talk show. That's when things start happening, she starts becoming independent. And that causes a while lot of issues. With her pack, local officials, vampires, and a werewolf Hunter.
During this book, you realize how timid and submissive Kitty really is, and honestly it is quite irritating, that it literally had me rolling my eyes through the book. Almost tho the point I was about to put it in the "could not finish" pile. But I stuck with it, and literally finished it within hours of picking it up.
I did however like the character build up, and the possibility of things in the future. I will continue with this series to see if Kitty grows a backbone fully. Because she would be a kick ass heroine when she finally does. ...more

ThFirst and foremost, I would like to thank Ms. Snyder for listening to her fans. And continuing on with this series. It's really a fantastic series. The characters are great, the world still awesome as ever. The nearest additions and the mystery and intrigue that you sit there and try to figure out throughout this book definitely keeps you on your toes. The ending, oh my wow what a cliffhanger, which means more books in the series, yay! ...more
