Even after reading this book months ago, the details are still fresh in my mind. I do not believe that I have anything bad to say about this novel. The characters are likeable, real, and you will find yourself rooting for them the whole time. I have to say that the plot may be the best part about the novel. It is amazing and disturbing at the same time. The last 1/4 of the novel blew my mind. Give the novel a try and you will not be disappointed.(less)

Short answer: I believed that it could not live up to the hype. However, it did. The novel is filled with excitement, action, emotions, and so much more. I honestly believe that there is a little something for everyone in this novel. This novel is dystopian at its best, and is a definite must read.
Final Verdict: I was very pleased with this novel. It is definitely the best dystopian that I have had the pleasure to read in a very long time. If you have not read this novel yet, be sure to add it to your TBR pile. It is that good.(less)

Ms. Cashore and her world are unique in a way that surprised me. It was full-bodied and complex, but not difficult to understand or follow. Readers are presented with an elaborate tale that is easy to get swept away in. And that is only part of what makes Graceling so unforgettable.
Final Verdict: Graceling is an astounding read. One that I wish I had not put off for so long. It is a breathtaking world filled with fantastic characters, romance, and plenty of adventure. You will not want to miss this fantastic tale.(less)

The world... the characters... the plot... all of it ties together to compliment each other in a way that is ingenious. Yelena is the type of character that only comes around every so often. Brave, smart, courageous... there are too many words that come to mind when thinking of her. And Valek... only one word is needed... yum. Seriously, where can I find a guy that like?
Final Verdict: Amazing novel! If you have not read Poison Study yet, you need to fix that immediately. The novel combines outstanding characters that will stay with you long after you finish that last page with a breathtaking world.(less)

Prophecy of the Sisters was a book that quite literally sat in waiting for months on my shelves. As the months passed by after its release, I began to hear wonderful comments about the novel. Unfortunately, it continued to sit in waiting due to it personally not being the right time for the novel. After eyeing Prophecy of the Sisters for so long, I began to feel drawn to it. Like something was beginning to say that "Now is the time... Read me." And that is exactly what I did... whole heartedly.
Prophecy of the Sisters and its author completely had me hooked. Every creepy and Gothic detail is perfectly detailed. The world... the characters... the premise of this novel are so enchanting that you will completely forget that you are reading. It consumes you until you can think of nothing but finishing this novel.
Rarely I find a novel that is so perfectly paced for me. The action, the mystery, and even the romance unfold beautifully. It seems that the novel never had a lull. It continuously kept me on the edge of my seat dying to see what would happen next. And completely left me breathless for the next installment.
If you enjoyed the Gemma Doyle series by Libba Bray, then Prophecy of the Sisters is a must read. It will leave you fearing things that go bump in the night and dying to know more about the Sisters and the Prophecy. Highly Recommended. (less)

Throughout the novel, I found myself captivated by the novel characters, both main and support, and its wonderful underlying message. I found the main character Cass to be enchanting; however, Crewe's exploration of Cass was sometimes lacking. In addition, while the reader has a good feel for Cass' world, they are left with many questions unanswered. It is unclear if they will be addressed later in the series (if there is to be a sequel), or if the author herself does not yet have the answers-- meaning that Cass' gift, for example, is truly an aspect that cannot be explained, it is just something that is. I also wish that Crewe had provided more of the much needed background information. If it had been provided, I believe that the novel would have felt much more fleshed out. My only other issue is Tim. I am not too sure how I feel about him as a lead male character. There were parts where I loved him, and there were parts where he really annoyed me with his weaknesses. While I understand where most of them come from I just wish he had dealt with his issues in another manner.
Despite the few bumps, there are many elements that make this book magically. The dynamic between Cass and Paige was incredible. Those interactions were some of my favorite parts of the novel. But hands down, I think my favorite aspect was the lists that Cass makes. They are insightful and above all else, humorous. Interesting enough, some of them actually sound like something I would write to be snarky.
All in all, this was a delightful book to read. I adored the messages that Crewe is sending to her readers about second chances, and people are not always who you think they are. I came away from this book with a great feeling. I really hope there is a sequel so that I can get to know more about Cass and her gift, as well as learn more about Paige. I think she is a fascinating support character, and I am a dying to learn more.(less)
