OK, have I ever mentioned I love anthologies (good anthologies that is) and I have no complaints about this one what so-ever. I love that I can read aOK, have I ever mentioned I love anthologies (good anthologies that is) and I have no complaints about this one what so-ever. I love that I can read a whole story in one sitting.
The first story (Captivated by You by Sherrilyn Kenyon)is actually out of the BAD series (worth checking out if you like sexy cop-ish alpha males) - I really liked the banter between these two and there are some funny dominatrix scenes while they are undercover. The ending was really funny.
The second story (Promise Me Forever by Melanie George) was a very sweet story ex-pro-football jock with really bad timing returns home to reclaim the love of his life on the eve of her wedding ... when all else fails, just throw the bride over your shoulder and carry her off into the night!
The final story (Hunter's Right by Jaid Black) delves into the fantasy realms where after an army plane crashes, sole surviving army officer Rhonda discovers a secret society of Vikings. On her capture she locks eyes with the hunky Nikolas and of course, after he saves her from a fate worse than death, they're destined for the fur covered bed. I do really like strong female characters who no what they want, and Ms Black delivers a fantastic tale as always.
These were a good read all-round with something for everyone... ...more
I've got several of these "Bad Boys" anthologies but this is the first one I have read so far, nor have I read any stories by any of the 3 authors. II've got several of these "Bad Boys" anthologies but this is the first one I have read so far, nor have I read any stories by any of the 3 authors. I could only give it 3 stars overall but the first and last stories were more like 4-star.
Love Potion # 9 by Joann Ross ... is about a witch Roxi and movie director Sloan who share the same erotic dreams. When Sloan sees Roxi in his friend's wedding photos and is told about her, he pursues her in the flesh. Roxi has commitment issues and this *3 Date rule* which I found just a little too difficult to believe; if in the real world if this sexual dynamo on two legs was romantically pursuing me .... I'd walk away from my book collection for him - no problems! A girl can always buy more books!!!
Midnight Plane To Georgia by E.C. Sheedy ... was the let-down for me. There was nothing wrong with the writing or style (in fact all 3 stories were well written and set). The main character Tracy Mae Allson couldn't say "no" to people and had been walk-over and taken for granted all her life. She tries to put her personal life in order by helping out her uncle start up a B&B together on the other side of the country. While waiting at the airport Tracy Mae locks eyes with workaholic Colson Jones who is on a week’s down-time and sparks fly BIG-TIME! Well, they do have some steamy ""hide the southern salami"" scenes but I wasn't convinced that after a life of trying to please everyone in her life that she was finally able to say "no" and resist this hunk of a man.... I tell you the girl's got it all backwards - it's say "NO NO NO" to your family and "YES YES, OH GOD YES" to the half-naked man trying to sweet-talk you into bed. Thank god Colson was persistent.
Fall from Grace by Jill Shalvis .... this story is, in my opinion, the best in this anthology. After an encounter in the library after hours and the lights go out, Janie Mills is surprised to find the gorgeous man she just clobbered with a dictionary is not who she thought. Private Investigator Ryan Patrick is demanding to who the frightened bombshell is and why she is wants to beat him senseless, and where is his missing client? .... and every time she (Hot-damm! Tackled by a sexy hunk in the library after hours – which library? And when can I join!) Ryan and Janie make a great team. Ryan is sexy and in control and Janie is vulnerable but strong. There are some surprises, hot passion and thrilling getaway's in Fall From Grace. It's a great story and is the fastest paced of the 3! ...more
