The best way for me to describe this book in a few works would be, cold as ice. The characters have no emotion whatsoever. Having read a lot of booksThe best way for me to describe this book in a few works would be, cold as ice. The characters have no emotion whatsoever. Having read a lot of books I have never came across a book where every character was emotionless and cold to me. The story is good and the setting is really good but the author writes the characters with no emotions as they are talking to each other and by doing this I couldn't get a good enough feel for each character. I also found head-hopping from time to time and this is something else I have never experienced before in a first person’s point of view. I would catch little things as I read, such as Huck would all the sudden start describing Polly and his feeling about what was going on right in the middle of her chapter. This is a great way to lose a reader because they become lost trying to remember which character they were reading.
This is a fiction book, there is no if ands or buts about it, but you will find a small romance between Polly and Huck. The key here is their romance is not main focus of the story and there is not happy ever after, so therefore, it’s not romance. I understood this was not a romance story when I rented it from the library, but I am noticing so many reader mark this as romance, so I just wanted my friends to know this is not romance before they rent or buy.

I went to Netgallay hoping there would be something there. While most publishers wont allow a romance blog to review their cookbooks, I found one that did and it just so happens it was just what I needed.
I never knew how much went into canning. This book took me from beginning of the canning process to end, which was what I was looking for in a book. Too often times we have to buy several books to get a completed product, but Blue Ribbon Canning takes you all he way through the process and with awesome recipes, such as, Spiced Barry Jam and Mint Jelly, which I will be trying in a cake recipe as soon as I am able, I don’t see me having to buy anymore canning books for a long time.
The authors included not only jellies and jams recipes but they also, include recipes for fruits, vegetables, pickles and more. They also offer Canning techniques, step by step for pressure canning, canning equipment and much more. I could see this book working well for beginners all the way to advance canners.
Recipes are easy to read and follow. I love how they added things like, if you love Margaritas then you’ll love this jam and Did you know facts corner with saying like, Did you know there are over 3,000 fairs healed in America each year…. Heck, no I didn’t LOL
I would have liked to see more pictures of the completed recipes and I wished they would have included the sales for devices instead of just paperback, but all in all this is an awesome book that I will be buying ASAP. ...more

I received this book from the publisher for an honest review, but the sad part is I can’t finish the book... I’ve read all I could take and I cannot take it anymore, so I am quitting on page 153. I feel like I am missing a lot of things that might have happened between this couples in previous books that I have never read and I also didn’t find anything funny. I love humor but this book didn’t cut it for me, too cheesy, SORRY.
I am not keen on romance books being written in first person. I’ve just never felt like you get the most out of a romance story by reading in first persons.
So, after about a month of trying to read this book I can no longer go on. I have to close it to go onto the next chapter in my life.
I do not review a books that I don’t finish reading, but I felt like since a publisher sent me the book I needed to explain why I didn’t review their book. I really appreciate it but I have to move on. ...more

Take it from someone that has 6 cats, which most are rescues, I was very happy to find Jackson Galaxy TV show. It has help me a lot with issues I would pop up in my small clan. I am so happy to see so much available for cats now days. When I was younger all you had was a litter box and maybe a few mice for them to play with, now days you have a smorgasbord of items you can now buy for cats or make from regular household items.
Catificaiton is a book that will help you bring out the best in any cat no matter your budget or the situation of your cat’s personality. This book goes into how to understand each of your cat’s situation and then the book gives you ways to help your cats.
The first step is to read the book so you can find the best ways to help your cats, then pick out some projects that fits your budget. Make this fun for all including humans by creating the projects with the family on a weekend. Remember if you are really on a budget to visit your lumber yards or other cheaper lumber stores. We have what is called a restore here. What they do is take donations from people that are remodeling or renovating their homes, so you can find items at a huge discount and help out others in the process. I myself wished I would have found this book before I spent a few hundred on some cat condos. The cats enjoys them but we could have built them ourselves and saved a lot of money, only if I would have found this book sooner… Few examples of bedding from the book.
Large flower pots with an added pillow in the bottom for a cat bed. Very decorative and cats loves it.
A cheap yard sale Chester drawers can be made into cat beds? That project is on my to-do list once yard sales season starts.
Simple cardboard box can be turned into a kitty box hammock.
Note some the projects you’ll see in the book is covered in My Cat from Hell series. ...more
I stumbled on this book at my local library and I am so glad I did. This story give a reader a great mystery, great characters and espressoRating 3.75
I stumbled on this book at my local library and I am so glad I did. This story give a reader a great mystery, great characters and espresso tips. You can’t ask for anything better than that. I enjoyed the mystery but I was left with some unanswered question that I hope book two completes. I will tell everyone up front if you don’t like espresso, then you might want to think twice about trying this series. You see in order to really understand Clare you’re going to learn how to make a good cup of espresso because she is all about making the best cup of Joe and yes, she takes you all the way through the process. I really enjoyed because it made Clare come to life while I was reading. I really miss this kind of stuff in romance books today. I want to get to know the characters I am reading, annoying or not and this author lets the reader really get to know Clare on her level rough edges and all. Plus I have always wanted to know how to make espresso at home ;) So, again this book was a total win, win for me.
The recipes and espresso tips that are given is worth the cover price alone.
*Update, since reading this books I was lucky enough to find more books in the series at my local Goodwill and again I want to stress, if you love great espresso recipes and tips for making espresso then, these books are totally worth the price for the recipes alone. ...more

The thing is I found him in a cozy mystery book not a romance book! *snort* Who would have guessed it? I know I sure didn’t. LOL
Charlie not only owns fabulous Maine Coon cat he also solves mysteries on the side, but what I feel head over heels for, he cleans the litter box. Hey! You can’t ask any man to do better than that LOL.
I enjoyed the story setting and some of the characters, what I didn’t too much care for was the writing style but then I am parcel to women writers, so I think that set me off from the start. Yes, men and women both has different writing styles. What put me off the most about the story was is I knew who was getting murdered and by whom in the first few chapters, what I didn’t know was why and the cat, is only reason I wanted to somehow finish reading the book. I have to say the why the killer done it surprised me the most, so I am glad I pressed on and finished the book.
Since Charlie has a Maine Coon name Diesel, you read a lot about the cat. Being a Maine Coon lover and also parent I feel the writer did justice in writing the true traits of a Maine Coon breed. Yes, the cat does make a huge appearance in the book and I was glad of that fact because it made the story a lot more enjoyable for me to read.
I will continue the series so be looking forwards to more reviews. ...more

In this installment you’ll find romance, danger, and some lighthearted funny moments. Author Sondrae Bennett does not disappoint her readers as she give us another fun, adventurous romance story that will leave you panting for more.
If you have kept up with the installments you know heroine Laurie is introduced in book one and continues to pop in and out in silhouettes thought the series. Since her name is spelled the same as mine I have been on needles waiting for this installment to come out. I enjoyed reading the story and I felt like Laurie got the mate she deserved.
I loved the characters and the story but I would have loved for the author to have went into more detail behind the attacks against Max family.
I recommend this book and the whole series to anyone who loves romantic novellas.

Unlike many series this book is truly a standalone because the author takes you back to when Janice and Dirk first met. The romance between Janice and Dirk is first and far most as it should be in a romance story and Vane does not disappoint with a great HEA ending.
As stated the author takes you back to when Janice and Dirk first met which is good in ways, but to me it just ended up being a downfall for the story because between Dirk and Janice issues and drama, it just made the story really drag.
I felt like Dirk was a bit of a hothead in book one and by the time I was done with a couple of chapters in book two, I found him not only a hothead but a true jerk. I didn’t like how he left Janice high and dry over and over again. I never read a book where one man had such drama over committing to someone. Needless to say his drama drags out through the whole book and I just didn’t care for it.
Janice has her share of drama too. Since Dirk wouldn’t have her she went with mister playboy knowing the fact he was a true playboy. I couldn’t believe how many times she let herself get hurt by Dirk, but at least she finally got her HEA with him, so I was happy for her. I did love how the author introduced Janice’s son and I was truly surprised with the mystery and thought it was all well-handled.
With all of the drama I did like how the book ended so, I gave this book a 3. Now, in reading this review you might not think I wouldn’t suggest this book, but that is not the fact, I do recommend this book to those that loves reading characters with comment issues.
