I loved the feeling of connection that I had with this book unlike any other book I’ve read recently. Seeing familiar characters such as Jack Gordon and Sara Thornton in new light, made Essence of Time a fun adventure-filled read. But ultimately this is Blake’s and Rob’s story as they find their way to each other and a part of the big Jack and Sara romance. Rob Frietag and Blake Thornton look very different physically. Rob is tall and blonde while Blake is dark haired with bright green eyes. But emotionally they are both struggling with finding themselves and finding the one person that they can love unconditionally. Flawed by their own history, each guy was not really looking for what they needed but rather they were looking at what they thought they wanted. All previous relationships paled once Rob and Blake got together. If you are a fan of Liz’s Stewart Realty books, Essence of Time promises to show you a different side of Rob and Blake as well as what makes them the steamy guys that they are.
The passion in Essence of Time is hot and smoking! It will leave you wanting a cold beverage when you are done reading just one scene. There is something sexy about the desire that builds between Rob and Blake. But it is the emotional connections that are woven between the characters that create a story you won’t want to put down. The headstrong men, Rob and Blake, don’t let things come easy to them. I wanted to strangle them both at different parts of the story. While at other points, I was cheering their open and heartfelt love on. Liz Crowe knows how to write powerful stories that will pull at your heartstrings and make you wish for a love like that.
While Essence of Time is book four in the Stewart Realty books, it does read as a stand alone book. It isn’t necessary to read the other books before reading Essence of Time but if you do read the other books first, Essence of Time will give you the background on your favorite characters, letting you inside their minds and seeing what makes them tick.
If you are fan of romance stories that drag you into the story and make you want to read the book from cover to cover, you are going to love Essence of Time. Just don’t blame me for your lack of sleep!

Who would have thought that the perfect guy would be right under her nose. Yet, taking a chance on your best friend's ex-husband is touchy.

While he is not from this century, he is more open to loving a strong woman and isn't threatened when his love doesn't do what he wants. He is, in fact, proud to have such a capable mate.
I loved how Ms. Feehan tied into the history of the jungles and the Cloud People. Creating a strong female character in Riley was just as important to having a happily ever after. I even enjoyed the Old One and his part in the story.
It was wonderful getting to see some old familiar faces from previous books as Dax and Riley set out to end the vampire's killing spree. All in all a good read that I had to finish once I was hooked into the story.(less)

He is a typical guy and doesn't really share his feelings. Maybe it's because he thinks he won't be taken seriously by his minions but he is unable to tell Leila how he really feels for her.
Leila is a strong woman who is willing to walk away from Vlad rather than settle for a lop-sided love. She knows she loves him but wants his declaration. Of course this leads to miscommunication and when danger threatens, Leila is targeted.
Jeaniene Frost brings us back to the world of the Night Prince and even some of our favorite characters from her other books show up (Cat). The storyline kept you guessing about who was targeting Leila and what their motive was. However the storyline was predictable. The first book in the series was outstanding and this story was a bit of a let down. I still want to read the next one and can't wait to see what Jeaniene Frost has in store for all her different series! (less)

In fact, people are being asked to take sides in lidigation that would make werewolves considered legally animals and without any human rights. Charles and Anna are a mated pair and love each other completely. Together they are stronger than apart. Charles is facing losing more of himself each time he is forced to act as an enforcer. Anna is the only one who notices the changes in Charles but can’t get anyone to take her seriously. When a serial murderer begins killing wolf-shifters, Anna is sent in to help with the investigation with Charles as her guard. The investigation begins as a way to help Charles heal but quickly turns into something more. Fair Game is a rollercoaster ride as Anna and Charles must find out what is strong enough to kill humans, half-fae, and werewolves over a twenty year span. Finding allies along the way, we see a different side of Anna. She is more confident in her abilities and in herself. Charles is the one who is struggling in this book. He allows his human emotions to put all their lives in danger. Patricia Briggs weaves a wonderful tale between the Alpha and Omega books and the Mercy Thompson series. Some of the characters are crossover characters but each series has their own flavor and feel. She also has a way of enticing you into the story and making you feel as if you were there. I couldn’t put down Fair Game as Anna and Charles got caught up in the evidence against who was the serial killer. I began to suspect everyone! If you love a great story filled with a mystery, paranormal characters and passion… you are going to love Fair Game. It will leave you ready for the next Alpha and Omega story.
