She is struggling to make ends meet and agrees to tutor a new student over the summer. Spencer DeWitt has just moved his family from Philadelphia to Illinois. Recovering from his wife's death and trying to raise his daughter, Spencer has no time for sexy Delaney. Except the two are undeniably attracted to each other. Then Delaney wins the lottery and her life is changed. Knowing what money can do to a person, Spencer fights against his attraction to her even harder. Will Delaney remain the same person after her windfall? Will she and Spencer give in to their attraction?
I really enjoyed Delaney ' s character. I think she might be my favorite of the series. Delaney has such a warm personality and a huge heart. The saying that so and so would give someone the shirt off their back describes Delaney to a T.
The chemistry between Delaney and Spencer is super hot. Spencer fought so hard against acting on that attraction. Delaney totally turned his ordered world upside down and for the better.
Lucky Girl Hits the Jackpot is the second book in the Change of Heart series. It can be read as a stand alone. Readers who love small town romances with a quirky cast of characters need to add this book and series to their TBR list immediately.

The victim of bullying, Sheridan has worked hard to put her high school trauma behind her. When her father gets injured and needs her help, Sheridan returns home determined to hire a home health aide and then leave. She wants nothing to do with the town or its inhabitants, especially her high school crush, Ridge Sutton. Ridge is now the mayor of Sutton Falls and he's also freshly divorced, struggling to care for his tween daughter. When Ridge runs into Sheridan sparks immediately fly. As a flood threatens the town, can Ridge and Sheridan put aside their past and find love?
When I first started reading this book I was somewhat annoyed by how Sheridan constantly focused on how she was bullied on prom night. Then she confessed the details to Ridge and my heart broke for her. Sheridan was extremely lucky the event didn't escalate any further. She had every reason to turn her back on the town.
I absolutely could not stand Alexis Sutton, Ridge ' s ex wife and Sheridan 's tormentor from high school. She was a mean, self-centered, vindictive witch of a character (and that's me being nice!). She made me want to reach through my Kindle and slap her.
I enjoyed how Sheridan wasn't a stereotypical feminist. She enjoyed wearing nice clothes and make up. She definitely enjoyed Ridge. Swanson does an excellent job of showing that not all feminists are slobby dressers who hate men.
Swanson does a phenomenal job with her hero just like in the first book. Ridge is caring, sexy, and very protective of his daughter. He takes his responsibilities to the town and his family very seriously. His all out war on Sheridan 's heart was fun to watch.
Smart Girl Swept Away is the third book in the Change of Heart series (it can be read as a stand alone ). Readers who enjoy Jill Shalvis or Susan Mallery should add this fun romance to their TBR list.

That's howWhen Lizzie Wiles mother passed away, she promised her mom that she would take her inheritance and cross off everything on her bucket list. That's how she ended up working at the Cowboy Café in Grady Gulch, Oklahoma. After a few weeks of working there, Lizzie notices that every Friday night a certain hot cowboy comes in and orders two pieces of pie and one coffee, but he never eats the second piece. Finally Lizzie works up the courage to introduce herself to Daniel Jefferson. Daniel mourning the loss of his wife and perky Lizzie is too much of a distraction. Daniel can't help but be attracted to her and the two strike up what is supposed to be a platonic friendship. When Lizzie finds a dead body and then she herself is attacked, the entire town is thrown into an uproar. Can Daniel protect Lizzie? Will Lizzie stay in town long enough for her and Daniel to be more than just friends?
I loved Lizzie 's character. She was such a free spirit and a hoot to read about. Lizzie is one of those characters that embraces everything life has to offer. It was hard not to read about her enthusiasm and not smile.
Daniel makes the perfect hero. A brooding cowboy who has walled himself off, thinking he doesn't deserve to be happy because he blames himself for his wife's death. It was fun watching Lizzie break down his barriers. When she gets attacked Daniel goes into full Alpha mode to make sure his woman is safe.
Her Cowboy Distraction is an engrossing quick read. Readers who love western romances with a little suspense thrown in should enjoy this book. I am looking forward to what the next installment in this series brings.

As the saying goes, all work and no play makes for a boring life. Trevor suggests a walk through a nearby park and a movie. After some prodding, Cassie agrees and while on their way to the movies, they grab some ice cream. Cassie puts on quite a show while eating it and Trevor decides that a little payback is in order when they get to the movies. Just how far will he go to get back at his wife?
All I can say is WOW. This quick short story will have you squirming in seconds. If a normal love scene is a small campfire, Almeida and Aubrey dump a can of gasoline on it and then skip away leaving you wanting more. It's that hot.
Trevor is in full Alpha Geek mode in this short. He knows exactly what he wants and how to get it. There is great narration about how Trevor has learned what Cassie likes and how he uses all of the tricks to exact his payback. It is the perfect cocky response to a situation that readers have grown to love and expect from Trevor.
Aubrey and Almeida have added another great short story to this scorching hot series. This is not a standalone novella. You definitely have to have read the other books in the Countermeasure Series to appreciate this story. For fans of the series and of the Bauers, this is a delicious way to see more of our favorite couple.

I have a confession to make. I usually read 1 or 2 reviews on here whenever I start a book. I should have listened to the reviews. I enjoy Catherine AI have a confession to make. I usually read 1 or 2 reviews on here whenever I start a book. I should have listened to the reviews. I enjoy Catherine Anderson ' s contemporary romance books so I was excited to find this rerelease of her older books. That being said, these books have every bad romance cliche in them. It was a struggle to read these without giggling at the madness. It was that bad. The only thing missing was a bodice being ripped and a bosom heaving....more

Jordan has returned to Old Brookfield, now a divorced woman with 2 young daughters. Her old flame, Gavin Maguire is now the fire chief of the town. Gavin can't believe that Jordan is back after all these years. He's ready to pick up where they left off but Jordan is skittish after her failed marriage. Can these two find their way back to each other or has too much time passed?
I think every town needs to have a fire fighter like Gavin. Holy cow! This character is super potent. He loves his parents, he's loyal to his friends, and his interactions with Jordan's daughters will melt your heart.
Jordan's character was great as well. She had left Old Brookfield to flee her abusive father, only to be trapped in a marriage with an equally abusive husband. She was so hesitant to fall in love with Gavin, putting her girls needs ahead of her own.
This is the first book in a new contemporary romance series. It's a great read with something for every romance reader : some suspense, good love scenes, and a hot guy in a uniform (yum!). The story was extremely well thought out with great characters throughout the book. If Gavin ' s other brothers are anything like him, the rest of this series is going to be beyond awesome.
