They just whet my appetite and leave me wanting more from her. Granted, I love that I don't have to wait so long in between books to read something from her but damn I want something longer. Don't get me wrong, this novella was fabulous but I just wanted more. I think there was so much potential here for a longer story so I was a bit disappointed just because I wanted more.
Regardless, if you are a fan of Whitney G. I recommend you pick this one up for a quick read. It was sexy and I couldn't get enough. I just love the way she writes her characters. Her men are sexy alphas that are kind of jerky at times but when they fall, man do they fall hard and they become so damn sweet. And her heroines...I just love that they are always feisty and don't let the men walk all over them.
Despite my complaining about the length, I really did enjoy this one. While it's not my favorite from Whitney G. it was still good and everything that I've come to expect and love from her. I can't wait to read the next thing she releases. ...more

This one has been sitting on my Kindle for awhile now and I honestly completely forgot what it was about when I started it the other day. I started it on a whim (I was actually wanting something more fluffly..lol totally wrong choice) and ended up not wanting to put the book down at all. It was nothing at all that I was expecting and everything that I ended up wanting. It was super sexy and I loved the chemistry between Willow and Shaw. These two are pretty damn explosive together. I honestly found myself dreading getting to the end of the book because I knew there was going to be a cliffhanger (yep, you read that right so if you aren't a fan I would wait until book 2 releases in May) and I just didn't want to be done with these two.
From the first meeting between them, the sparks jumped off of the page and I just found myself quickly devouring the pages. I just had to know what was going to happen with them. Shaw is a hell of a sexy beast with a dirrrty mouth and I was smitten. I just loved the way he was with Willow. Kind, caring and super passionate. The heat is a plenty with these two.
As for Willow I really liked her. I have a hard time with heroines sometimes but I found that I really liked her. She's gone through some obstacles but she doesn't let it knock her down for long. She is strong and I like that she sticks to her guns and doesn't let anyone walk all over her. My heart broke for as well because she certainly didn't have an easy road and I just want things to stay on the up and up for her.
I can't wait to see what the author has in store for the next book. I admit that I'm eagerly awaiting the next installment and will be stalking the authors Facebook and Twitter pages for any tidbits she shares because I want more of these two and fast. ...more

The first half of the book kind of dragged and I couldn't really connect with the characters. It was weird because it felt like the voice for the characters was all wrong. It felt (at least to me) that it was an older person trying to write a younger pov and just didn't execute it all that well. Some words and phrases felt wrong. I will say that things picked up for me in the second part of the book and I started to enjoy it more. There was one point in the book that I almost did a DNF. Something happened that I wasn't okay with but I continued to read (even though I was hella pissed) and it ended up working itself out. I still didn't like what happened though.
I've heard book two is a lot better so I'm going to give that one a try...partly because I already bought and partly because I'm curious to see how the author turns around one of the characters.
All in all this book was okay. There wasn't really anything that was all that special about it. It's a typical college NA with a jerky jock hero (though points for being a wrestler...that was new). ...more

Without a doubt this book is far superior than the first book in this series. It started off a little slow for me in the beginning and it took some time to finally warm up to Zeke but once I did I found myself not wanting to put this book down. I loved the chemistry and the connection between Zeke and Violet. I thought Violet was adorably sweet and I liked that she was the complete opposite of Zeke as far as personality goes. She was more laid back and soft spoken. I don't know if I could have handled both her and Zeke if she was a super strong personality.
As far as Zeke goes...yeah he was a tough one to warm up to. He was brash, harsh, and a jack ass for most of the book. He was just so angry and at times it became a bit too much to read. I get where he's coming from but it was a bit much sometimes.
I do feel like the author didn't really give me the closure that I wanted for Zeke and the reasons for his anger issues. I would have liked to have seen him confront the issues instead of pushing them aside.
All in all, this was an enjoyable book that I found hard to put down. ...more
