I would have to add first that the following is MY opinion only. It was hard for me to start reading it, I wasn't caught up in it until I had already had read about one-third of the book. And I can't really say I loved the ending. There are 3 more books though. I guess I like the romance part of it all. But the love concept goes farther than I imagined.
I really liked the writing even though the suspense and action could have been more trapping. I wasn't running through the story like I normally do. I don't really know if that is a good thing or a bad thing. Nevertheless, I was pleased when I finished. It was not what I would've wanted but I liked it. The surprising part was I found my imagination flying to places it had never had. So, I think it is a ridiculously good book in the fantasy part. She manages to get all the fantastic creatures we all love -vampires, werewolves, faeries, demons- in one single fascinating world that works and, interesting enough, is believable.
The cover is amazing! Probably what had my interest on reading it. And my favorite part of it all -and for me one of the most important things in a book- were the characters. I loved Clary and Jace, and all the other characters as well. Specially Alec. Wonderful story....more

Let me start by saying Derek is an exceptionally well thought character. I absolutely love his relationship with Chloe - even though not everybody would agree with me- but he steals the story away..
The suspense is awesome. There were parts were I literally felt tired like if I was running with them. The writing is obviously exceptional, the cover is really appealing and the story is so refreshingly thrilling that you don't even notice until the end that the whole book takes place in about a day or two.
I liked it better than the first one -tends to work that way for me since I like knowing the scenario that I'm getting into- because it has much more suspense and supernatural notes to it. Can't wait for the third one!!...more
Not much more to say than what the summary says, but I confess that when I read it I almost backed out on reading it. Almost. Glad I didn't because INot much more to say than what the summary says, but I confess that when I read it I almost backed out on reading it. Almost. Glad I didn't because I loved it. It is kind of weird the way the supernatural part is given, but after that its awesome. I fell in love with the non-nice-nor-lovable character, Derek. I'm glad he's not the perfect guy for a change. Absolutely amazing writing like hers, mixed up with this trapping story and such normal characters leave you in the edge of your seat. Like Melissa Marr said, "You'll be desperate for a sequel"...more

They can't know she sees them. Now she has been picked by the Summer King. Changes are all around. Will she take them? Will she be with Keenan? A modern and twisted fairie tail you will most likely love.
What can I say? Different, exotic. What a debut! It blew me out of proportion. It is written in this absolutely abundant and rich -exquisite- English that took some effort for me to read it. How fascinating, a step out of reality to a faerie world so well described that left me stunned. Those of us who think -I've heard this so many times- that spanish is a richer language, for it has much more vocabulary; don't really know what they are talking about. And obviously do not know as much words as this writer does. And the story is so real-like and so fantastic all at once. ...more

Its a lot darker and, for me, carries a more down-to-earth message. This one is no faerie tail at all.
As a companion to Wicked Lovely, Aislinn, Seth and Keenan are around. It is about a girl -Leslie- who sinks unwillingly in to a supernatural faerie world, when she gets a tattoo. You also get to know more about Irial -The Dark King- and Niall. I love these too characters!! They are so real, so bad and so good it just feels real.
About the book, it has her unparalleled -and amazing- way of writing, and the magic she has with description that makes you think everything is touchable and tasteful. It is not as captivating as her first book, some slow parts, where she explains the Dark Court but the story I liked better. ...more

Stunningly and elegantly written, Fragile Eternity, picks up after the events of Ink Exchange, but this time we switch to Seth's story. He's the only mortal left and this is a weakness for all of them. We meet Sorcha, the High Queen and Bananach's sister and quite an interesting and mysterious character. And many surprises and plot twists await. Sadly for me, there was no Irial.
Something about the plot kept me uninterested, but her beautiful writing keep me always engaged. Seth still seems way too perfect for my taste. I thought maybe we would see some flaws he may have now that it's his story... But no. Apparently, he just doesn't have any. Meh. But overall I really enjoyed diving into Marr's awesome world once again. Her character development and her magical story telling will always leave me wanting more. ...more

I love sequels, you're already into the story from the beginning so its more interesting. You already know everyone, even the author's writing so that's important. Once I got into it I loved the whole thing. The action was way better, and I loved the changing scene thing she does during the action. I have to say this, the ending of the last book was crushing, but the ending in this one was devastating, heartbreaking! I'm glad I don't have to wait to read the next one.. If she keeps improving it will only get much better.
The story was great, the fantasy part was impeccable -my imagination has no repair after this- I loved her writing this time, and also -as City of Bones- has an awesome cover. The characters were absolutely amazing, I am in love with Jace and I have to say I keep loving more Alec's character. This is by far one -of the ever growing collection- of my favorite books....more
