In Dark Days, book 2, Cat's crazy life begins to unravel as she learns secret after secret about herself and the world around her. I HONESTLY could not put this book down. I stayed up until 5:00am reading this book the first day I started it. SERIOUSLY could not wait to find out what happened next.

Carol and Adam Kunz are amazing. I was blown away by The Childe and fell totally in love with Cat (see my review of The Childe HERE) and her world. I had no clue where Dark Days would take us. I was SERIOUSLY IMPRESSED! I could not put this book down.
Cat grows up a lot in this book. Not just maturity but in her self. She gets more comfortable with who she is and the world around her. She adapts to what others do not see with a great fierceness. This book starts out as a page turner and does not stop. At the end of the book, you find yourself checking several times to make sure there is not "one more page" to read!
You will love the twists, turns and characters that you have grown to love in The Childe and the new ones you meet in Dark Days. I cannot WAIT for the next book. If you have not yet started this series, I suggest getting them BOTH at the same time because you will not want this to end EVER!!(less)

My review: the blurb above does this book NO JUSTICE! I will be honest. If you are a fan of The Blackdagger Brotherhood series, you have to read this book! I am dead serious!!! I loved this book so much. The story line is intense. It is such a page turner! I power read this book. I stayed up until 3:00am the first night and the second night I stayed up until....6:00am reading it! (I have to be at work at 7:30am).
Mia is an average young adult. She works a normal job at a gas station. She has become best friends with one of her co-workers. She lives every day like everyone else. Except...she has special abilities to see aura's, dead people and a few other special talents. Mia knows things about people that she should not. People shun her because she scares them. Mia does not realize how incredible her gifts truly are until she comes head to head with a very scary man. Mia is not sure where the strength came from to stand up to this man to protect her homeless friend but she used every ounce she could. The homeless man left on his own accord, so the police are unable to help Mia with her crazy story.
When Detective Cole Burnett shows up, Mia feels like fool. She is super surprised that he BELIEVES her story of what she THOUGHT happened in the gas station that night. Meeting Cole, Mia finds herself seriously attracted to him and scared out of her mind. What parallel hell on earth has she gotten herself into? Mia finds out that strange things DO go bump in the night, not everyone is who they seem, you never know who your friends and enemies truly are and you never really truly know yourself.
This book is an EPIC vampire story. If you are shaking your head because you are tired of vampire stories, you are missing out big time! I will NEVER get tired of Vampires. EVER!!! If you are a fan of Sookie/True Blood & Blackdagger Brotherhood and love the romance of Twilight...THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU! It is filled with love, hate, raw emotion, STEAMY sex and a scene that makes the song "Love in an Elevator" by Aerosmith play over and over in your head. Did I mention the passion and the steam? Seriously...this book causes global warming for REAL!!!
Tina has stated that the first print of her book is currently out. She is waiting for the second print to come out. Please stay tuned to one of the Tina's sites below of when you are able to get your hands on this incredible book!! (less)

Especially the newest ones that are mixing vampires, werewolves, witches, wizards and ghosts into their books. The Childe included at least 2 of these (spoiler free ya know) that is all I will say! I loved this book. It was such a page turner. I loved living in Cat's world. I really felt like I was too. The characters were so easy to relate to (even the one's your not supposed to)!
The description of all the places in the book was so vivid in my mind. I love paranormal. I love the high school settings. I love the mystery, the bad boys/girls. I love the forbidden love/like/friendships of the main and not main characters. I love SECRETS and the revealing. I love the coming to power(s)! GUESS WHAT? This book had all that for me. Really enjoyed it. I can't WAIT for the next books in this series.
Carol and Adam have written a WONDERFUL story. I can't wait to see how it further evolves and how the characters come into their own. I have so many questions for the future books. I LOVE THAT!!
Note: in this book there is a cool feature that Cat has that I can relate to and there is a character named MINDY in the book. This made me feel SUPER close to the book too. hehe....pure coincidence though!
Looking for a great paranormal book? I suggest this one! It was a lot of fun to read!!!(less)

“That WAS the best baseball story ever” Joshua’s exact words when we finished the book.
I am like Dusty because I love to play baseball with my mom, dad & my sister. I would love to have a best friend like Randy. I have mixed feelings about “The Brute”. I feel that “The Brute” was mean but also was hurt & that is why he was mean. This does not make it right though.
I loved Dusty’s character and the relationship he had with his daddy. It is sad that Dusty had to go through what he did to find out who he really was (paraphrased by Mom to help with no spoilers). I took it on the bus and read it a lot. Tonight I finished it with my mom. We read it together. I think all moms and dads should read this book to\with their kids, boys and girls both.
I feel that this book was cool, weird, shocking, a little freaky & awesome. I give this book a 10 (even though mommy said I could only go up to a 5) J
Morgan’s review (my 11 yr old daughter):
I have a few words: “THAT BOOK WAS AMAZING”! (Morgan's exact words at the end of the book)
This book did a very good job of describing Dusty’s enthusiasm of baseball & life. This was a very inspiring book. I am not a big fan of baseball but my mom & brother got me very curious as they loved this book. I am so glad I read it. You do not have to be a baseball fan or a boy to enjoy this book. There is a wonderful lesson in this story. This was a quick read for me and I was left with a very happy feeling when I was done.
Range of emotions: happy, sad, touched, inspired and a little creeped out.
I, too, give this book a 10 even though mommy only said I could go to a 5 J
My Review: This book is a very quick read but once I started to read, I did not stop until the end. I really truly enjoyed it and think that anyone that has ever loved baseball will enjoy it, no matter what your age. The target age is 8-12 but I think that early readers should be encouraged to read this also, either out loud to a listener or a read along with someone.
Dusty's life journey is so turbulent. Every little boy's dream..playing baseball with this dad. I fell in love with Dusty at all stages of his life. This book is a wonderful example of never giving up no matter what life throws at you. I also think that this story is a great example of how everything in life happens for a reason. (One of my personal all time favorite lessons of life). The ups & downs that Dusty go through are so typical of everyday life. We all have that dream that we never knew we had and did not realize we even wanted it until it happens. This is a feel good story with a slight supernatural twist. Amazingly surprising & so very fun! As with most sport's players, superstitions are a well known tradition. The play on this one makes a great story.
The Great Brutester had a huge role in this book. He was the good guy & bad guy all at once. His story is a true testiment of being careful of the bridges you burn in life (or whose bridge you burn for that matter). :)
My 6 year old son Joshua actually stole this book from me. He sat down & managed to read almost all the way to chapter 3 without stopping. He fell asleep with the book beside his pillow. The target age is 9-12 on this book but I honestly think this book can appear to all ages & should be shared. There are some aspects & words that Joshua has problems with but he reads out loud to me so we can address them as he gets to them. He loves this book.

I am not a zombie fan. Well, I was not until I read this book. Oh my gosh I loved this book. I could not put it down. I really honestly could not. I loved this book so much.
I fell in love with the characters, RIPLEY & even the zombies (well, not love but they are critical to the story)!
I highly recommend this book. If you are a zombie lover, you will LOVE this book. If you are not a zombie lover, you will now be. HONESTLY!

Happy Monday to me! Thank you!!!
I finished this book last night. It was a great read. I was very interested in the book by the time I was done with it. I am def very curious to see what happens to the characters where they were left at the end. Although very short (like a novella) it had lots of good descriptions & plot. I would love to see this story continue. I was able to visualize the characters & the surroundings very well.
Thank you for this book. I really enjoyed it!!(less)

I am EAGERLY awaiting Devotion in Feb 2011 and Genesis, a Novella available Oct 19th 2011 in ebook form!
Alexis is getting through life without the other half of her soul. Dorian keeps her busy and so does her writing. They keep her grounded and from falling over the edge completely.
This book was INTENSE! The imagination of author Kristie Cook is outstanding. I love the paranormal aspects that Author Kristie Cook brings to life not only in her book but through the writing of Alexis.
In Purpose, Alexis must find her PURPOSE. She must choose...Heaven or Hell. Happiness or eternal sorrow. Will the good in her overcome the demon blood or will the evil conquer all?
The action, love, devotion, back stabbing, friends, foes and everything in between is so prominent in this book. Alexis discovers a side of herself that she never knew existed. Boy is it one heck of a side too!!
When you have paranormal creatures of all types going up against each other, whose side do you think they will take? I PROMISE that PURPOSE will give you a thrill as you read to find out and more!!
(Again...I keep my reviews very spoiler free so I am holding a lot back on this review. I really highly suggest you reading this ADULT series)!!!(less)

It was a lot of fun to read. I could not put it down. I started on Friday about 5:00pm and finished it at 1:00am (did not read that whole time. I am a wife and mom). I could not read these books fast enough. Yes I finished them A LONG time ago. I have no clue why I did not post my review sooner. I think I went on book strike after I read these for a bit because they were so on my mind! Seriously...do not even start Promise unless you have Purpose sitting right beside you or you will be VERY UPSET with yourself. Now onto the book!
I love paranormal. I love ALL paranormal. I love ALL PARANORMAL that has hot characters in it. Guess what? YIP...you got it. This series has it all! This book made me sit on the edge of my seat the whole way through. Author Kristie Cook sucks you into her world and does not let you go. The world is built inside your head as you read each word, each page, each chapter.
Per the blurb on the back of the book "...are a match made in Heaven and in Hell". This book is incredible. The story unravels as Alexis finds out who she really is, who her mom really is and who her hot new boyfriend really is. Alexis is torn in a million different directions as what is right and what she wants are totally different things. There are some very intense and intimate chapters of this book (hot as hell if you must)!
As Alexis learns why she writes the stories she does, as she sorts through the lies and the new found truth, will she find out who she is meant to be or will she succumb to who she could be. The choice of Heaven and Hell has never been harder.
The characters in this book are so well rounded. They come to life on the pages. Author Kristie Cook makes you feel like you actually know them and you feel everything they feel.
It is hard to give this book a good solid review without spoilers. There is so much I want to say about it but I am unable to as you have to experience the book yourself. (less)

If I love this series so much, why on EARTH would I put off buying and reading what could be the final book of the HEAVENLY series? That is very simple. I DO NOT WANT THIS SERIES TO EVER END. Seriously. I have fallen in love with this series. Jennifer Laurens has created a story that seems so real to me. Good VS Evil will always prevail in our world. It is a universal symbol. Jennifer has taken Good vs Evil to a whole new level. The characters are so real. The story unfolds in your mind like a past memory or past life.
In book #3, Absolution, we find Zoe still caught up in the battle between good and evil. Zoe has learned a lot over the last two books. She has not only grown up but has also realized how important her family is to her. She realizes that by putting her family first, the shift in balance of good has a lot of weight. She is still in a desperate fight to hang on to her love for Matthias while trying to live her human life too. Zoe and her brother Luke have been through hell and back. Each fighting their own demons. Together, brother and sister have found some common ground. United they sure stand. LOVE this about the story. LOVE LOVE LOVE it.
In the end, will love prevail? Will the Heavens be able to contain Matthias or keep Zoe out when demons and dark forces are hell bent on getting her out of the human world? Will Zoe find the life balance she so desperately needs to live out her human existence or will she find a way to be with Matthias?
Guess you better get to reading because my reviews are SPOILER FREE! (less)

This was affirmed when I received a message from him. Not a message, a warning. A WARNING? Yes, a warning. I thought this was the coolest thing ever. I really did. He was letting me know that this was not your everyday horror writing. This book goes beyond that. I was good with this. I really was. I had read his bio & read up on his other work. I was ready for whatever he was sending me.
OR WAS I? Hehe...about half way through the book, I said to my husband "This book is DISGUSTING. It is disturbing & gross". He said "then why are you reading it"? Me: "because it is good"! WTF right? (NOTE: Yes I stayed up one night until about 3:00am to finish the book. What does this say about me???)
Honestly, I really did enjoy the book. It was the kind of horror that makes you go WHAT? It really is.
I love the fact that overall, it is not the type of horror that makes me feel like someone is standing behind me, or is lurking outside my house, waiting to slaughter my whole family. The Reverend has a super imagination. Not sure where his writing comes from but it would sure be cool to meet him in person (ok I admit, a little scary too)!
The middle story was good. I am not a huge fan of backwards writing but it was good. The last one of course was my favorite. Just when you think it cannot get any stranger, it does get stranger & you have to keep reading because you know that it will keep getting stranger.
I will admit I was a little worried letting this book sit out. I did not want my kids to pick it up or ask questions. They did not thank goodness. I would hope that anyone that reads this book makes sure they are highly medicated, over the age of 18 or locked up somewhere. (just kidding).
I give this book 4 stars because I honestly feel it deserves it. Not something I would read everyday but it was a nice change for me. Well done Reverend!
This was my first book that I read of 2011. How cool is that?(less)

I loved this book so much. There is nothing better than being lost in the world of Ganzfield. Kate Kaynak is brilliant. I love this world that she has created. To me, it is so real. I feel so close to Maddie, Trevor & all the gang at Ganzfield. I cannot get enough of Ganzfield. Legacy was a page turner. I could not put this book down!

I won this book in an author chat on Eve's Fan Garden. I actually got a signed ARC. I received it in the mail the day the book was released. I love this book and will def reas this one again. If you love magic, romance and mystery, this book is for you. Did I mention supernatural? *winks*(less)

I am super excited to read the next book in the series "Penitence". The is also a third one due out soon.
There are so many aspects of this book that I could relate to. Being a teenager is tough. No ands, ifs or buts about it. Jennifer definitely shows what the real life of a teenager can be like. No sugar coating. I know I can relate to the main character, Zoe (and I have been out of high school for a long time).
The love that Zoe has for her sister Abria, who has special problems of her own & the love she has for her brother as he fights his personal demons is endless. The sense of what a good strong family can achieve in this book is heartwarming.
I give this book 5 stars as it warmed my heart and made me realize to never take anything for granted. My children are going to grow up too fast and I want to make sure that I am there for them at all times. You have to make mistakes in life to learn and hopefully you will the right decisions before it is too late. (less)
