An insecure, innocent and tortured woman meets a strong perfection leader guy. Definitely understand how they feel about each other when the problem arise. They think so much about each other but they themselves. I can't stand for the bromance between these brothers of Leigh! Just too sweet!
Next to read: Texas Splendor, the youngest Leigh Brothers.
Note for the Dastan translation, it became worse if I have to compare to the 1st book. Kinda disappointed.(less)

I love almost all of this book, the couple, bromance and story. The minus point for me is just for the long time for Houston Leigh (tortured full of scars on his face, he never think he's good enough) to realize that he has to be with Amelia (brave and a war victim too, an orphan) which is his brother's bride-wannabe.
It's sweet and meaningful, not just hot as other historical romance books. So its not a book you would like to read if you search for a hot/wet book. ;) This book is a rare evidence that you don't need a hot scene to make a great romance book.
This is my very first book of Lorraine Heath, and I'd continue reading for the 2nd of this series.(less)

I love how she wrote a story, kinda heart-warming.
Another hero from LS, a hot-rude-damn Jesse DuFrayne... The heroine here, Abigail McKenzie, is a conservative-close minded-virgin woman. And David? He's a good manner-every good girl's dream guy. We have 3 persons here, do you expect a triangle love story? I can tell you, no it's not another triangle love story! There's no one moment when Abbie is hard to choose which guy she truly loves. So what's the problem? Just read it. :)
The quotes which I like: 'She's had so little love, Jesse thought, I will drown her in it for the rest of her life.'
She writhed between him and the door and he moved his mouth to her ear, whispering hoarsely, "Abbie, I'm going to take you to that bed and make love to you like you never imagined you'd be made love to again."

This is my 1st book of Catherine Anderson, and I fall for her... I had this book in my shelf for more than around 6 months! I kept it for long time, because of many reviews from my friends that this book is rude (I'm not sure in what kind). So I decided to delay my read and find the perfect time when I'm not in so much stress.
In my edition (Indonesia publisher), the font is too small and narrow! So it's a bit of trouble for me to read it. But then slowly but sure, I found it great, the hero, Hunter is really a strong character, and so was the heroine, Loretta.
Hunter is my first Indian hero. He's cruel, strong, and a leader of his tribe. He's really rude at the beginning, but found him really sweet, kind when he's in love for Loretta.
Love that kind of story, which is the hero is totally changed, because of the love for the heroine!
The point of this story is love between 2 different people, an Indian leader which lost his wife because of 'white people', and a white woman which had lost her family by some Indian in front of her eyes. it's really hard for them to be together, and this is the process which a proof that love conquer all.
Really curious about the second book of this series! We've got the childhood of both hero and heroine for the 2nd book, Swift is gonna be cool as Hunter likely, and then poor Amy...

I can say that the couple is insane, it was looked impossible for the very first time. The heroine here is a 'crazy-odd' woman (Elly Dinsmore) who has 2 children and waiting for the 3rd (pregnant), whose husband has just died. She has farm and house which has not been taken care of for long time. And the hero (Will Parker)has just came out from jail recently, because of killed a prostitute. He needs a job for a living.
In other words, they need each other so much. I love their process, their life, their faith...
Will Parker is both innocent and cool. I love that. This is one of the quote: Will asked Miss Beasley what kind of man Glendon Dinsmore had been and she answered, as different from you as air is from earth. He asked which he was, air or earth? She laughed and said, "That's what I like about you—you really don't know."
And this is one after Elly got her 3rd child. Lizzy, Will thought. Lizzy P. 'You n me gonna be buddies, darlin'. He stretched one hand to Elly's hair, and circled Donald Wade's rump with his free arm and touched Thomas's leg, on the far side of Elly. And he smiled at Lizzy P. and thought, Heaven's got nothin' on being the husband of Eleanor Dinsmore.
I found it funny when a prostitute disturb him, and he rejected. Will fired the shoes like two orange grenades into the alley, pushed her outside and offered in parting, "If you're in heat, Lula, go yowl beneath somebody else's window!"
I want to be your wife, WP! My house door is definitely wide open for you!(less)
