Can I just say that I love how Morgan Rhodes can make you despise a character so much that you turn the pages waiting for their death, only to turn it all around in the next book. Some of the characters that I one hundred percent hated are now some of my favorites. LOL!
This series just continues to get better and better with every book. I hate that we have to wait a year for the next one. Wahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!
I am going to be honest and say I hate this cover! I do not think the cover does the story any justice. The only reason I read it was because a friendI am going to be honest and say I hate this cover! I do not think the cover does the story any justice. The only reason I read it was because a friend recommended it to me. I actually skipped it a couple of times thinking it was more of a middle grade novel. I hope they update the cover.
Aside from that, this story was nothing like what I had expected. I jumped into the story expecting it to be a bit childish. I am a huge pirate fan and one thing I love most about pirate stories is the ruthlessness of it all. I love how pirates have no fear and are all pretty much selfish. LOL! For some reason (and it could be because of the cover) I did not expect this novel to be as mature as it is. It turned out to be one of my favorites!
Alosa, your main female character, is so kick-ass! This must be the year for strong female characters. Or maybe I am just doing a great job picking out books filled with them! I found her to be brave, smart, daring, and soft all in one.
Riden, I was torn with him. I found him to be up and down. One minute I really liked him and the next, I couldn’t stand him and thought he was such a baby! But in the end, he got back on my good side. :)
Not only is DAUGHTER OF THE PIRATE KING fast paced, but it’s funny, romantic, and brutal at times. It also has a slight twist of supernatural to it. More so towards the middle/end of the book. I am so happy I gave it a chance. Now to wait for the sequel…. The bad part!
This was a great read!!! A Good Choice for Reading ;) <3<3...more

It is no secret that NAMELESS (book one) is one of my ALL TIME favorite reads EVER! When I was asked to read and review CLANLESS (book two), my poor heart skipped a beat.
CLANLESS kicks off pretty much where NAMELESS left off. And let me tell you, when NAMELESS ended I was stuck in the same position with my jaw hanging wanting more for about ten minutes. No lie! I absolutely loved this book! Every word devoured my poor little heart. It was one that I got so lost in, I forgot to eat, drink, and more!
CLANLESS lacks NOTHING. To me, there is triple the action and suspense in this book than in the first book. Zo really finds herself in mess after mess, but not once does she come off weak or scared. She knows when she makes a mistake and owns up to it. She is also not afraid to take charge and do what must be done.
There isn't one character in this book that I dislike. And that is very rare for me. I usually dislike one or two characters, but Jenkins did such a great job with her characters that it was hard not to get emotionally attached to them. Even the villains in the story I had some kind of attachment to. Jenkins has created a world that is so believable and crazy, you can picture everything clearly in your head while reading. The story also moves along and progresses. There wasn't a dull moment once. Jenkins writing is great!
There isn't much else I can say except that this is one series you MUST READ!

I have never read a book by K.A. Linde before. Though, I have been curious since her books get recommended a lot. The Affiliate caught my eye because lately high fantasy is all I've been reading. I have a huge obsession with it, especially young adult high fantasy. Also, the cover completely sealed the deal for me. I actually started off with a sampler of the book and once the sampler came to its end I immediately logged in and bought the book so that I could finish it. I was so into it and I only read the first 20 pages or so. This book did not disappoint. I could not put it down. I loved everything about it. The romance is by far my TOP FAVORITE thing about this book. It was there, but it wasn't. I thought at first there was going to be a love triangle, but Linde did not throw that into the mix in this book. Now as for the sequel, who knows, but I hope not!
I still don't know how I feel about Kael, the King's brother. I don't know if he is bad or good, and I think that was the author’s goal. Which, let me tell, she succeeded in doing one hundred percent. I hated him, then I started to like him, then hate him, and ended with liking him again. The King has my heart, though. FOREVER! LOL!
Argh! The feels!! This book definitely took me by surprise. I never heard of it, nor have I seen it in the blogosphere, but it caught my attention. I bought it yesterday and finished it today. Now I am tempted to try Linde's other books, but I am not a big contemporary romance fan. I have a handful of authors that write contemporary that I read.
Anyway, if you are reading this review it's because the cover, blurb, or something about this book got your attention, and I am here telling you that YOU MUST BUY IT AND READ IT! SO WORTH IT! ...more

The story starts right where the first one ended, kept moving at a fast pace, but somewhere along the ride it became predictable, had the whole xmen feel to it (think xmen: first class -- which I loved BTW), and the romance just wasn't there for me. It needed a little extra sprinkle. The ending I saw coming about ten chapters away. I think I have to sleep on this one and gather my thoughts. I am a little disappointed to be honest.

Sword and Verse takes readers on an unforgettable adventure. Not only is this book amazing from the first word to the very last, it is also unpredictable, and has the PERFECT romance.
When I first saw the cover to this book I immediately knew I had to get my hands on it. Then I read the blurb and I was sold! I knew it would be one of those books that would keep me up all night reading, and would leave me with that craving for more. I honestly did not expect to be so into the story, and completely captivated with the characters like I was. It was all I thought about. Every single time I had to put the book down, I would get upset. I could not wait to dive back into Raisa’s story. It is THAT good.
One of the biggest things I love most about this story is the way the author wrote it. The story starts with Raisa as a young girl, and ends with her as a grown smart woman. I did not get lost once with the timeline. The author did an excellent job piecing it all together. For some reason this was a huge plus for me. The way the characters grow, the romance between Raisa & the Prince, the suspense whenever Raisa and the rebels were together, it was just flawless!
I will say that a little more than half of the story is romance. Of course, me being a romance junkie, this just made me fall in love with the book ten times more! I can’t describe the emotions I felt. Prince Mati & Raisa’s feelings for one another bled off the pages and I absorbed every bit of it! At one point, the author had me worried. I wasn’t sure what was going to happen to them as a couple, and was about ready to scream, but in the end I was happy with the outcome. Every detail, event, emotion, all happened at the right time, and all flowed together like putting the pieces to a puzzle together.
SWORD AND VERSE is a GOOD CHOICE FOR READING! It’s a story that you will devour and never forget. At least it was for me. Kathy MacMillan is officially on my MUST-READ list. If her other books are written anything like this one, it will be a sure read!...more

The Bourbon Kings was everything I wanted and more! It has that BDB feel, only contemporary. There is nothing paranormal in this book, but I loved it anyway! I enjoyed it from page one until the very end. DEVOURED IT!
The story is about Lane & Lizzie, but if you are familiar with J.R. Ward’s work, then you know she always has to introduce other characters and drag them through the mud before you get their complete story. I think that was what I loved most. You meet Lane, his sister Gin, and his brother Edward. All three siblings have a story. I was completely lost in their mess and their drama, I could not stop reading. I really hope that Gin gets her own book because that woman has some secrets that kill! I am dying to know how it will all play out.
Ward fans, trust when I say you WILL NOT be disappointed with The Bourbon Kings!
Funny moment: “Sutton, as always, a pleasure.” He glanced at his sire. “Father, fuck you.”
I don’t know why, but I laughed so hard at this part! A DEFINITE MUST-READ!...more
