That is exactly what happened to me with JESSE'S GIRL. I sat down and read the first chapter and pretty much zoomed through the rest of the book.
JESSE'S GIRL is not my favorite out of Miranda's books, but it's definitely in my top three. The characters are so likeable that you can’t help but feel some kind of attachment to them from page one. I loved Maya and her reaction to some of Jesse’s shenanigans. Jesse was a broken artist. He loved his music, but had so many trust issues you just had to feel sorry for him. Even with all this trust issues, one of the things I loved best about him was that he wasn’t afraid to share his insecurities. He was pretty much open about everything from the very beginning. If Maya asked, he answered. I enjoyed their relationship a lot.
I loved that Sam and Jordan make a little appearance in JESSE’S GIRL and we get an update on them. A happy one!
Overall, JESSE’S GIRL was funny, romantic, and filled with lots of family drama. If you are looking for a quick summer read definitely pick this one up! It will fill your reading urge and leave you wanting more....more

SUGARBABY was an okay read for me. I did like the main MC, and her friends, and even felt a strong connection with her at time. Her friends were funny and I enjoyed their friendship with Jadyn. They had a great bond.
Aside from that, I had too many issues with this story. My first issue is the whole way Jadyn and Noah meet. She sends him a text by mistake, which was meant for her friend Diana. Noah writes back, and the both immediately have this “connection”. After exchanging a couple of text, he ends up at her job a couple of days later. Jadyn doesn’t really know who they are and treats them like any other customer. Of course she pieces it together and is just as curious as Noah is. I, honestly, would have been freaked out that this boy felt the need to find me, but that is just me. I also understand why he did it. Noah is bored and in hiding so, why not? He has nothing else to do, right? I think my biggest issue is that the text conversation were just so dead. There really wasn’t anything THAT exciting between the texting.
Anyway, I don’t want to give too much away. Once all this happens and things take off a bit, I actually started liking their relationship. I kept reading and was hoping for a HEA between the two. But somewhere along the way the story sort of changed. Noah decides to deal with his issues and drags Jadyn along. I feel like his entire personality changed and I no longer cared for him. In fact, I sort of got bored. Jadyn becomes like this caretaker and is always trying to help him, and in the process keeps getting hurt. To some, this makes for a perfect story. And I get it, there has to be some kind of drama. But this just wasn’t for me.
I hate writing reviews like this, and normally I don’t write a review or rate a book that I did not read until the end, but I read 90% of it and felt that I should share my thoughts. Obviously the author did something right if I was that frustrated while reading, right? LOL!
I wasn’t aware that this was a part of a series. Even though I wasn’t a fan of SUGARBABY, I did buy the first in the series, HONEYTRAP – which features different characters.
If you love NEW ADULT CONTEMP. I say give SUGARBABY a try. It wasn’t a story for me, but I am pretty sure tons of NA fans will chew this baby up. :)...more

I have so much to say about this book that I have no clue where to begin!
To say that I love this book is an understatement. It completely blew me away! I don’t know what I was expecting when I dived into this one, but it definitely was not what I got. It was beyond amazing!
There isn’t one dull moment in NAMELESS. There is always something happening that will keep you at the edge of your seat wanting to scream, jump… something! I literally paced while reading because I was so excited, but yet so nervous all at the same time. With each turning page, I felt like I was watching a movie, only in my head. The writing was great, the descriptions were on point, and the characters… oh man, the characters!!! There isn’t one negative thing I can say about ANY of them. Every single one of them was strong and fearless, and also very well written. They were all likable. No, LOVEABLE! Even the bad ones that you wished death upon. Jenkins has taken world building to a whole new level. It just all flowed together so perfectly, and all felt real.
Don't get me started on the romance! No, it isn't fluffy. And no, it's not all over the book. But the way it comes to light was perfect! It was nice and slow. Jenkins knew when to give a little, and then give a lot! Zo falls in love with the enemy, so imagine all the feels that comes with this. The angst, the guilt... argh! I am falling in love all over again!
I am so happy that I took a chance on it. NAMELESS is one book that you can re-read over and over again and it will still feel fresh! I cannot wait for the world to read it and fall under the NAMELESS spell. Because that’s what I feel like I am under, a spell that has me trapped in Zo's world and won’t let me out! I don’t want out!
Why, Sophie? Why?? Why would you do that to me? That ending!!!!! LOL!

MINI REVIEW added February 2, 2016:
I am a huge fan of Sophie Jordan! I was super, super, super excited when I found out that she was releasing a new young adult series, and high fantasy at that! It's all I've been reading lately.
My first thought after reading chapter one was YES! This book is definitely going to rock! I loved Luna from page one. I thought she was a pretty kick-butt character.
A couple of chapters in, Sophie Jordan reveals something that left me with my jaw open. And the way she did it had me cracking up! For some, they might pick up on it right away, but I was completely taken by surprise. It made the story so much more interesting after that. I just had to know how? How does Luna do it? The story was very unique compared to other young adult novels I've read in this genre, which I think is why the story still feels so fresh in my memory. I actually read it about four months ago, but I can remember almost every little detail. SO GOOD!
Of course I don't have to sit here and type away how swoon worthy Fowler is. If you are a fan of Sophie Jordan's then you know just how fast she can make your heart beat with her romances!!!

I love everything about it. It’s the first thing that made me want to read it. Beautiful! It also fits the story perfectly!
As for the story itself, I am not sure how I feel about it. I expected a lot more to be honest.
It had a great opening and immediately I fell in love with the idea of Verity falling for a bandit. I sort of knew that they would cross paths again, and my first thought was “now this is going to be a good romance.” Unfortunately, that is not where the story went. In fact, for more than half of the book Verity knows who the bandit really is, but doesn’t say a word. She befriends a group of rebels and right away she puts all her trust in them. Even if she questioned them, or their actions, she still went along with most of their little adventures and becoming a spy for them. There is also a romance that blossoms between Verity and a rebel that, to me, didn’t feel real at all. I wasn’t buying it one bit. There was just no chemistry between the two.
Overall, Rebel Mechanics was interesting enough to keep me reading until the very end, but I wish there was a little more action, some twist and turns that weren’t predictable. I also wish there was a lot more magic involved. But I did like the world Shanna Swendson has created, and the way she would describe certain things. Her writing was great! If there is going to be a sequel I plan on reading it. With the way things ended, I have hope that the story is going to go in a certain direction. *wink wink*...more

In addition to that, I've shared a small review. See below.
In this short excerpt, RIDERS main character Gideon (aka War) first meets Sebastian. Enjoy!
I looked to my right and there he was, looking right back at me. Famine… My first impression was that he fit the bill. Even sitting I could tell he was tall. Over six feet. Lanky. He looked of just a touch underfed, but it gave him that model- look, more than anything else. Like he belonged on one of the photos on the wall. His brown hair reminded me of Wyatt’s— long and shaggy— except Famine’s was more natural. Like it just was that way. He was my age or just a little older, I guessed. After a second of wringing the papers, he narrowed his eyes at me like he was trying to work something out. “Do I know you?” “I don’t think so,” I replied. “I’m Gideon Blake.” “Sebastian. Sebastian Luna.” We didn’t shake hands, which was awkward. We’d obviously avoided it. But considering all the insane stuff that’d been happening, it wouldn’t have surprised me to see lightning slice down from the ceiling if we had.
After reading that little scene I am taken back to the story and how much I loved each character! I thought it was a lot of fun watching their friendships start from bottom and end at the top. RIDERS is the first in the series, so all four men still have a lot to learn about who they are, and how to control their power. Or should I say horses? Either way, I am ready for the next adventure!
While reading RIDERS, I pictured every scene in my head as if I was watching a movie. They went from normal, to warrior by the end of the book. RIDERS would definitely be a perfect TV series on The CW. I can picture it now!

I knew of maybe 5 books that were going to be featured there and that I MUST-HAVE. CAGE OF DECEIT was in that top 5!
A couple of month’s back I came across her TRUE REIGN series and absolutely LOVED it. There are only three books in the series, and they were amazing! When I found out that she had written a spin-off I literally jumped with joy. I am not kidding! That is how much I loved the characters, the world, romance, EVERYTHING!
CAGE OF DECEIT did not disappoint! It’s filled with just as much suspense and action as Jennifer Anne Davis TRUE REIGN series. There isn't one complaint out of me over this book. It was written well, from beginning to end you are completely entertained and fully hooked on the characters. Davis gives you just enough action mixed in with romance that it makes the story feel complete. It was a bit predictable at times, but I am okay with that because I was secretly hoping the story was heading in that in direction.
I thought Jennifer Anne Davis' TRUE REIGN series was one to rave about, but CAGE OF DECEIT has topped it, and has completely blown me away! I love this book! I cannot wait for the sequel! Davis will forever be on my MUST-READ list. A Good Choice for Reading! ;) A MUST-READ!...more

The Bourbon Kings was everything I wanted and more! It has that BDB feel, only contemporary. There is nothing paranormal in this book, but I loved it anyway! I enjoyed it from page one until the very end. DEVOURED IT!
The story is about Lane & Lizzie, but if you are familiar with J.R. Ward’s work, then you know she always has to introduce other characters and drag them through the mud before you get their complete story. I think that was what I loved most. You meet Lane, his sister Gin, and his brother Edward. All three siblings have a story. I was completely lost in their mess and their drama, I could not stop reading. I really hope that Gin gets her own book because that woman has some secrets that kill! I am dying to know how it will all play out.
Ward fans, trust when I say you WILL NOT be disappointed with The Bourbon Kings!
Funny moment: “Sutton, as always, a pleasure.” He glanced at his sire. “Father, fuck you.”
I don’t know why, but I laughed so hard at this part! A DEFINITE MUST-READ!...more

the endddddd -- what? Kelly shattered me and then put me back together!
My emotions are all over the place right now that I don't even know what to say!
if you want a good YA paranormal romance, definitely pick this one up! Don't worry, you don't have to be familiar with the first couple books. though I recommend them! ;) It's been a while since I've read them, but I wasn't lost one bit, and to be honest, this felt like a BRAND NEW story featuring my favorite characters. Kelly gives enough background for you to get the gist of it all.
I hope there is more! It has a complete ending, but leaves room for another.
loved it! I recommend this book to all YA LOVERS!...more
