This book is one that I don't know if I can adequately describe.
Sophie Jordan tackled some deeply intense issues in this book but did so in a way that was not dark or disturbing. What if the government could predict who would kill somebody? What an intriguing plotline.
The characters were well-developed and I enjoyed watching Davy progress. This book was one that left me turning the pages faster and faster. I couldn't wait to get to the last page and figure out what would happen.
I honestly can't wait for the sequel to come out. This book comes highly recommended.
So why 5 stars? It was incredible! I felt the ending was rushed, but still 5 stars. I loved everything about this book.
In Summary: Readers won't want to miss this thrilling electric new novel by Sophie Jordan. It will leave readers wanting more.
Warnings/Side-notes: There is a lot of violence. It's not overly graphic, but it is there. There are also references (vaguely) to sex and assault. For 16+.
The Wrap-up: So glad I read this book. Seriously I went into this book with no expectations really. I was completely blown-away. This is the first book I've read by Sophie Jordan, but I can guarantee that it won't be the last.
This was an incredible book. I loved the first one, but this one was even better. Definitely not a bridge novel in any shape or from. I can't wait toThis was an incredible book. My Overall Thoughts/Impressions: Pettrey's series is pure gold. I keep thinking that there is no way I can love the next in the series as much as I did the previous one and then somehow I always end up loving the next one just as much.
This novel on Darcy and Gage was pure brilliance. I loved watching them find faith, love, and of course solving one heck of a mystery. Darcy has always had a knack for uncovering things and in this novel she definitely uncovers something that is maybe a little bit too big for her to handle. And Gage is just incredible. Watching their dynamics was one of my favorite parts of the series.
This is a must-read as is every book in this series. Pettrey is certainly a new Christian fiction writer who I have my eyes on.
So why 4 stars? I adored this book. I felt like it dragged at times, but other than that it was amazing. Definitely recommended.
In Summary: Pettrey's Alaskan Courage series is not one to miss and Stranded will leave you with bated breath until the very last page.
The Wrap-up: I am falling in love with the series by Dani Pettrey and can't wait to read the next one.

My Overall Thoughts/Impressions: I actually really enjoyed the book. I thought this book showed the development that we were all waiting to see in Tris and Four. I loved watching them grow. They faced many trials and both made stupid decisions, but I loved their progression and that was probably one of my favorite things about the book.
As for the ending, yes part of me hated it and yet the other half loved it. I found it to be quite profound for reasons I can't share here without spoiling the book. However, I will say that the ending was realistic and fit the story.
I loved the book. It was definitely a great read that I enjoyed immensely. Veronica Roth is an incredible writer and is amazing at developing her characters.
All and all this was an unforgettable read.
So why 4 stars? Because although I love the ending and book, the way the ending came seemed a tad bit rushed. For that I gave it a 4 and not a 5.
In Summary: A thrilling, beautifully written novel that will grip you until the very end.
Warnings/Side-notes: This book is one that I would recommend to anybody.
The Wrap-up: I loved this book. I really did, but I'm still furious about the end. Definitely worth reading. ...more

An overview of the Novel: The stakes are high. Anna is officially on the Duke's bad list. Their obsession with her and the prophecy is mounting. Anna is being pursued on every side. They are determined to ruin her so she can't pose a strength to them and they aren't afraid of anything.
Kaidan and Anna love each other and are determined to protect each other no matter the cost. But in a world where their love could be the very cause of their death, it just might prove to be their downfall.
Anna is ready to take on the Dukes and protect those she loves. But the Dukes are ready to dispose of her. In this final installment, Anna is about to take on the Dukes and love and if she's lucky she'll survive it.
My Overall Thoughts/Impressions: Oh! I didn't know what I was expecting, but this novel exceeded all of my expectations. This novel was absolutely stunning. I loved how fast-paced it was. Once again, Higgins shows incredible control. Her novel didn't lag at all and yet it didn't feel rushed. The ending seemed perfect.
I read every page frantically waiting to get to the next one and yet at the same time soaking every page in, as only the best books can make you feel. This novel was one of my favorites in the series. In a world where the third installment is usually disappointing, it proved to be a huge relief.
This novel is packed with romance, action, mystery, and intrigue. I am so glad I got my hands on this one. This novel and the whole series for that matters comes highly recommended.
So why 4 stars? I adored it. I flew through it. It gripped me from the beginning. It didn't quite cut it to be a 5, but I loved it.
Can I read the series out of order? Please don't try to. Read them in order. Everything will make much more sense.
Warnings/Side-notes: Vague references to sex, alcohol, drugs, some tame uses of profanity, and violence. I would recommend this to 15ish plus. However, it is pretty clean especially in comparison to other books in the market.
The Wrap-up: I can't believe it's over. I loved this series. I will be waiting with bated breath to see what Higgins comes up with next. This novel is a must-read for fans of YA and paranormal fiction.

Both had comI have an unhealthy obsession for books exactly like this one. Alex and Serena both have damaged pasts and are carrying a lot of baggage. Both had come from abusive situations and were struggling to overcome them. It's a plotline we've all seen before and yet Kate Laurens' novel stood out among the crowd.
I'm not really sure why this one stood out. I think it was the whole package. I really liked Serena and Alex's characters and thought that Kate did a great job crafting them. I also really enjoyed watching the two of them interact. They were pretty much attracted to each other from the get-go which can really bug me; however, in this case, it didn't feel all that unnatural and Kate did a great job of developing their relationship. They had great chemistry. Serena and Alex chose very different ways to deal with their problems. Some weren't necessarily the healthiest, but I loved watching them grow.
This novel is New Adult and is definitely not intended for young audiences. There are several sexual scenes, none are too graphic, but they aren't exactly innocent either. There are also some instances of strong language as well.
I thought that the manner in which Kate developed her story was masterfully done. I can't wait to read the other two in the series and plan on immediately buying them when they come out
I would recommend this to fans of romance, New Adult fans, and people who like reading about grittier or darker issues. Lovely story that was cute, poignant, and entertaining.

My Overall Thoughts/Impressions: After reading Beautiful Disaster, I finished the book with mixed feelings. It seems like people either hate or love that book. There was no in-between. I left uncertain about how I thought about Travis and Abby as characters. I thought the writing was beautiful, however.
So when I saw the chance to review Walking Disaster, I decided I would. Let me start out by saying this: Travis is not a great guy. He fights, he throws things, he's jealous, controlling, and at times a complete idiot. However, Travis is not abusive. Having said that, there's no way in heck I would ever want anybody I know dating him.
Okay now that I've addressed that Travis is not at all role-model for people, I hope people won't slam my review.
Like I said, I really enjoyed this novel. It was beautifully written. Granted, I was frustrated the whole time, but it was a great book.
I loved watching Travis and Abby's interactions and hearing Travis's side of the story made me like him more than I thought was possible. I'm not excusing his behavior, but knowing why he acted the way he did helped me feel more sympathetic toward him.
Travis might not be the ideal guy. In fact, he's far from it. But deep down, he has a good heart and isn't a bad guy. I know people are worried about the message this book is sending young girls (ie: you can change a guy, rough guys around the edges have good hearts) and feel like it will lead to abusive situations. However, not to bash any books here, but a lot of novels send terrible messages and present it as normal or good. (ie: Hunger Games, Twilight, etc.)
So yes this book might give girls the wrong idea; however, it also is a well-written novel that is intriguing and great novel. Travis is far from perfect but I really loved hearing his story.
This novel is not plot-driven; rather the reader gets to live inside Travis's mind and hear his thoughts about what's happening. If you haven't read Beautiful Disaster, you will be completely lost. Read Beautiful Disaster first. It was a more lyrical style but I really enjoyed it.
So why 4 stars? It wasn't my favorite novel ever, but it was well-written. I felt like the novel ran a little bit long at times and it just lacked that extra something to make it a 5 but it was still an enjoyable read.
In Summary: Walking Disaster and its companion novel Beautiful Disaster are controversial books and people's opinions about them vary. I, however, really enjoyed reading this novel. It was an entertaining book and I don't think it leads to girls wanting abusive relationships. This book isn't for everybody, but I'm glad I read it.
Warnings/Side-notes: It's a New Adult novel and is definitely made for more mature readers. Several sexual references and mentions of drinking and drugs. These references are not graphic, but they are also not meant for young readers.
The Wrap-up: A controversial book that isn't meant for everybody, but I enjoyed it. It's definitely a book that people love or hate. If it sounds like your cup of tea, then give it a shot. I'm glad I did.

An Overview of the Novel: Allai doesn't remember much about her past, but she does remember Drake, a demon, trying to kill her. But she also remembers him protecting her and promising never to harm her. The two images are impossible to reconcile.
But then she finds out that she is a Mage, a powerful magician. Suddenly her dad wants her dead and she realizes her entire life is a lie. She has no choice but to trust Drake with her safety, but can she really trust him?
My Overall Thoughts/Impressions:I'm not sure how to rate this book. I enjoyed the plot and the overall story idea. It was original and unlike so many of the books I've read before. It definitely caught my attention and held it for the entire novel.
I also really liked the characters Allai and Drake. I know some people didn't think they were well-developed but I did. I really liked watching them interact and enjoyed seeing them progress through out the novel.
So basically, I love the storyline and the plot and the characters. I did feel like the writing was a little rushed at spots and that it could have been edited better. I also felt like the novel should have been longer. I was just barely connecting with the story and the characters and was just barely getting into the story when it ended.
I would have liked to see more conflicts, more growth from the characters, and just more period.
I do feel like it was a great start to a great series though. And I'm definitely intrigued to see what happens to these fascinating characters.
So Why 3.5 out of 5 stars? Because like I mentioned earlier, it felt rushed at times and I would have liked things to be more developed. The plot and the characters were really intriguing. I give characters and plot a 4/5, the writing a 3.
In Summary: Olivia's debut novel is an intriguing look into a paranormal world that will sweep readers off their feet. The writing felt rushed at times and I wish there would have been more room for growth. However, I still really liked the novel.
Warnings/Side-notes: I don't feel like I need to warn anybody about anything in this book. It was really clean.
Wrap-up: I really liked this novel. It was original and intriguing. I'm glad I read this one and think that readers will enjoy it. It's flawed, but hey if you search hard enough every book is. This is a series I will definitely be keeping tuned into. I really want to know what happens next as well.

I've waited so long to be able to finish this series. I loved the first two books in the series and so I was looking forward to reading this one.
I went in very apprehensive. Lately, third novels have been none for being terrible. I went it unable to fully breathe because I was so worried I would be disappointed.
I should have had more faith. Veronica Rossi's finish is incredible. I adored how she brought her series to a close. This will forever be one of my all-time favorite stories.
I love Perry and Aria and I enjoyed watching them grow and become stronger. Seriously Perry and Aria are some of my favorite characters.
You will not be disappointed. Highly recommend this series. You will be so glad you read them, but also sad that the series has closed. I personally can't wait to see what's next for Rossi.
So why 4 stars? While I loved it and it definitely stood out of the crowd, I just felt like it wasn't quite a 5 star rating. I felt like there were a few parts that were rushed. Definitely an epic finish.
In Summary: Rossi delivers in her final book in the series leaving readers spellbound until the very last page.
Warnings/Side-notes: There are references to sex but they are very vague. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this one.
The Wrap-up: Like I said, I can't wait to see what's next for Rossi. A great read. Please tell me, she's writing another series.

An overview of the Novel: Anna was saved from death, but it might just be a temporary reprieve. Now she has whisperers breathing down her neck making sure she's working and doing what she's supposed to. Good girl Anna is finding herself transforming into party girl Anna. She's not so sure she likes the change.
She can't afford to disappoint the Dukes not when her life is on the line and not when so much is riding on her success. Because Anna just heard a prophecy and she's got one tall order.
Not too mention, the normal drama with Kaidan. Kaidan is determined to cut her out and it's breaking her heart, and her best friends are dating. It's lining up to be an interesting senior year to say the very least. She just hopes that she and her friends can survive it and that she can make Kaidan love her back. No small order. My Overall Thoughts/Impressions: I read the first in the series a long time ago and so I was super excited to finally get my hands on the sequel. I loved the first one and the second one was no exception.
Wendy Higgins took a subject that I never thought I'd enjoy and made it into a novel that I could barely put down. I absolutely adore the characters. Anna and Kaidan and even all the supporting cast all sucked me in with their stories.
Higgins' writing is incredible. She stays right on track and doesn't sway from it. The pacing was perfect and the plot was gripping. I flew through this one so fast and immediately started reading the next one. Don't pass this one up. You won't regret reading this series. This is a series that I would love to have on my shelf.
So why 4 stars? I adored it. I flew through it and was thoroughly engaged in the tale the entire time. Most sequels end up being bridge novels. In hindsight, this one kind of was a bridge novel, but it didn't feel that way. It was an incredible story.
Can I read the series out of order? I would seriously not recommend it. Read them in order.
Warnings/Side-notes: There are very vague references to sex, alcohol, drugs, and other things like that. Language is fairly clean, but there are moments where it swears. I would recommend this for 15ish and up without hesitation.
The Wrap-up: I adored this novel and immediately jumped into reading the third one. Higgins is an incredible author who I will be keeping close tabs on. Beautiful read that I thoroughly enjoyed.
My Overall Thoughts/Impressions: I was worried because I had read the other two in the series so long ago, but I rememberMy Rating: 4 out of 5 stars.
My Overall Thoughts/Impressions: I was worried because I had read the other two in the series so long ago, but I remembered everything. I was worried about this book also because the last books in a dystopian series have been kind of a let-down lately.
I shouldn't have worried. This novel like all the others in the series was well-written. I loved how it switched back and forth between Hana and Lena. I loved watching their stories unfold. This novel was one that I really enjoyed and kept me turning the pages.
As for the ending, I was slightly disappointed because I wanted something more. It just kind of ended and lacked the closure I wanted, but the ending was well-written I guess.
Loved the book, but am sad about the ending and sad that the story has come to a close.
So why 4 stars? Because of the ending I knocked it to a 4. I just wanted a more concrete ending.
Can I read the series out of order? Not recommended.
The Wrap-up: An engaging read that sucked me into the story and I couldn't put it down until I finished.

An Overview of the Novel: Clary was determined not to get involved with the Shadowhunters, but that plan doesn't really plan out. When people discover Jace is Valentine's son, they stop approving of him and declare him a traitor.
It's up to Clary to make sure Jace doesn't do anything rash. But that proves to be a little more than difficult. After all Jace is her brother, she can't love him. And yet she can't not love him.
Clary is determined to help her mother too. Her mother is still in a coma and shows no sign of waking up. Plus, Valentine is out there wrecking havoc. But where do Jace's loyalties really lie? To the Shadowhunters or to their father?
My Overall Thoughts/Impressions: I kept hearing that I needed to read this series from so many people that I finally decided to read the series. I read the first one in the series awhile ago and just barely got to this one.
I will admit to being pleasantly surprised. I actually really enjoyed this one. It did feel like a little bit of a bridge novel; however, it successfully avoided the sophomore slump.
I still really like Jace, but the idea of Clary and him still liking each other kind of creeped me out. That's partly why I didn't read this book, but I decided to read it anyway.
I'm glad I did. I really enjoyed the novel and am pleasantly surprised by the Jace and Clary angle.
I liked Simon a lot, but I just don't see him with Clary. I hope he does get a girl though.
Basically, I did enjoy this one and am curious to read the next in the series. I have all sorts of guesses as to what happens next.
So why 3.5 out of 5 stars? It was enjoyable, but it just lacked that extra something to really stand out in my mind. I did like it, however, and am excited to read the next one.
In Summary: An original, compelling tale that has me intrigued to find out what will happen next. Definitely recommend to fans of paranormal fantasy (but then again, you have probably all already read this).
The Wrap-up: Like I said, I can't wait to read the next one. I'm curious to see where this series goes. I really hope my suspicions are right and that I don't end up hating the series. :)
