My Overall Thoughts/Impressions: Let's just say I loved this one. Seriously that's all I need to say.
Okay, since I'm supposed to be writing a review of this novel, I'll say a little bit more than that.
Travis has just returned from Afghanistan and everything is a mess. He watched his best friend die in front of him; his brother stole his girlfriend and his car; he has to deal with his father again; and his parents seem to be splitting up. Yep, life is not looking good for Travis.
And then he meets Harper. Travis unintentionally ruined Harper's life when she was only thirteen. So he's the last person she wants to see. She even punches him when she first sees him. And then something starts developing between Travis and Harper, but will it be enough to overcome both of their pasts?
I loved this novel for multiple reasons. Reason one, it was told from a male's perspective. So rarely do we get a story from just a male's perspective. Oftentimes, we get it from split personalities or from the girl's, but I loved diving into Travis's mind.
Travis was far from perfect. In fact, in some ways he was a really messed up guy. He has slept around with several girls, has bad language, and doesn't respect his parents. But he was just such a good guy. He cared about his mom and wanted what was right for her and he cared about Harper. He tried to do the right thing. He really was honorable.
I loved Travis's character and watching him deal with all of the issues that came from fighting in the war. Travis is easily one of my favorite literary characters.
Then there was Harper. I absolutely loved Harper. She was just so incredible. She was a strong woman and I loved the way she looked at life.
I loved the writing style in this novel too. Doller didn't shy away from dealing with tough issues. I really loved that. Her debut novel was fabulous and I can't wait to see what she does with her sophomore novel.
In Summary: Doller is a master at writing profound young adult/new adult fiction. Her characters are realistic, flawed, and beautiful. Doller has made a fan out of me and I'll definitely be adding her to my must-read list.
Warnings/Side-notes: This book is New Adult/Mature Young Adult. It talks about a 19-year-old dealing with PTSD. It has several instances of foul language and several sexual references. They are not graphic, but are definitely meant for a more mature audience.
The Wrap-up: This book is just beautiful. I absolutely loved it. I'm so glad I read it. If you're like me, you've heard a million people tell you read this one. You might have even been skeptical. I was, but I've been converted. This book is a must-read.

My Synopsis: Tessa is determined not to go back to her Uncle's mafia gang, but due to her past nobody will hire her. When a rich woman Elizabeth St. Amant asks her to be her bodyguard, Tessa wants to refuse. However, with no other options, she says yes.
But they quickly find out that Elizabeth's old husband wants to do much more than just punish Elizabeth for leaving him. He might have murder on his mind. Tessa finds herself trying to protect Elizabeth and protect her heart against the handsome lawyer Charles. But in a world of secrets, can faith and romance win out?
My Overall Thoughts/Impressions: I haven't read a book by Camy Tang before. I bought this book a year ago, but never got around to reading it. So glad I finally did and not sure why it took so long.
Camy's writing drew me in from the very start. I loved how she developed her characters and the plot. It was perfectly paced. I read a lot of romantic suspense and rarely have I read one that I enjoyed as much as this one.
I loved the idea of writing about a Japanese mafia. Seriously, I was drawn from the get-go. This one comes highly recommended.
So why 4 stars? I guess I'm just picky. This novel was really great, but once again it just missed that little extra something to knock it up to a 5. This book is truly amazing, however.
In Summary: Readers will find Camy Tang's book to be beautifully addicting, humorous, and full of both action and romance. A novel readers won't want to miss.
Warnings/Side-notes: No concerns. I would recommend this book to readers of any age.
The Wrap-up: I adored this book and am looking forward to reading the sequel.

My Overall Thoughts/Impressions: Like many of the books I've read recently, I went into this one with no expectations. I liked the cover and the fact that this was a historical romance around the Civil War time caught my interest.
I started reading the novel and immediately fell in love with both Pete and June. Pete came from a father who gambled away what would have been Pete's inheritance. He then had to work free for years to pay off the debt. The only problem was he fell in love with the boss' daughter. Good thing she married somebody else.
Pete left looking for a fresh start and he ran into June's family. Pete was a character that I adored. He was able to overcome his past and was just such a nice guy. He was exactly what Gabe and June needed.
June was placed in a compromising situation by her school teacher years ago and is bitter against men. She doesn't trust them. And she certainly doesn't trust Pete. Her son Gabe begins to love Pete and June has to admit that maybe Pete isn't exactly who she thought he was. But that doesn't mean she trusts him.
I loved watching June and Pete interact. These characters grew so much in this novel. For me, the characters made the novel. Don't get me wrong, the plot, the writing, and the other thematic decisions the author made were incredible. I absolutely loved the world Mandi stuck her characters into.
However, for me, the characters were my favorite part of the story. I really enjoyed this novel. It was incredible. This was Mandi's debut novel and she certainly has made an impression. I will definitely be keeping tabs on this author.
In Summary: An adorable novel with characters that I absolutely loved. Mandi's debut novel definitely struck a chord with me. This is one author that I will definitely be waiting for her next work. ...more

An Overview of the Novel: Jacqueline has been known as Jackie because her boyfriend wanted her to be his "Jackie," but then he dumps her because he needs to have some fun before he becomes a politician.
She's stunned. She never thought he'd dump her. She followed him to his preferred school and now she has no idea why. Then she's assaulted by his friend and if it hadn't been for some stranger named Lucas she would have been raped.
She's stunned, but she's drawn toward Lucas, but then there's also her tutor named Landon who she can't help but be attracted to either.
Lucas seems to be everywhere she turns around. The only question is whether or not Lucas feels the same way and if they can get over their pasts to make a future together.
My Overall Thoughts/Impressions: I was hesitant to read this one, but so many people loved it that I decided to give it a shot. I'm so glad I did. I absolutley loved this one. It was such an incredible book.
I love reading books that have depths to them. This book had so much depth to it. I loved everything about this novel. Jacqueline and Lucas were surprisingly easy to relate to.
Yes, I pegged the general plot line, but I still really loved this novel. It was such a beautiful, moving read. I'm so glad I read it. Even if you don't love the New Adult genre, you should definitely check this one out. It's an incredible read.
Webber has just became a writer that I'll be keeping close tabs on. I loved everything about this novel. Everybody should go read this one. It's amazing.
So why 5 out of 5 stars? I loved everything about this novel. The characters, the writing, the plotline, and the depth that this novel had to it. So many novels skirt around having depth to them, but don't actually achieve that depth. This one did.
In Summary: A beautiful, poignant novel that I loved. It was slightly predictable, but overall it was just an incredible read.
The Wrap-up: Tammara is an excellent writer and this novel was an amazing read. The characters were incredibly well-developed. Overall, this novel was one of my all-time favorites. Definitely recommended.

An overview of the Novel: I feel like the Goodreads description is a good description of the novel and don't feel the need to add to it.
My Overall Thoughts/Impressions: Okay so there are mixed feelings about this book. I thought a lot about what people said a bout it, and frankly I disagree with them. They said that she should have felt more after Mr. Hall died, I disagree. It was in the little things that she did that you could see she did care. I thought how she grieved over him was appropriate.
People say that Leah, Grayson, and Alex are stupid characters--yeah they are pretty stupid at some points but it's a believable stupid. I thought these characters were real. Yes, Alex wasn't super developed as a character, but I thought that was realistic considering it's told from Leah's view and Leah doesn't really care about him.
Leah and Grayson were stupid, I wanted to scream at them and yet I was rooting for them the entire time because they felt real.
I loved this book. Almost gave it a 5. I loved the world Echols created, a world full of planes, danger, risk, and love. It was beautifully-crafted and I thought the story was well-written.
Out of the masses of books I read, it stood out to me and that's saying something. If you are looking for characters who are flawless or characters that you will always love, then this isn't the novel for you. If you are looking for brilliant writing and an incredible world to get lost in, then this is for you.
So why 4 stars? I loved it. The beginning was slow and so for that I gave it a 4, but I adored the book.
Warnings/Side-notes: Several instances of strong language, some sexual content that is not detailed but is written in a way that is appropriate for 16+.
The Wrap-up: An engaging enjoyable read that had me hooked from the very beginning. Loved it.
