On a whim I was rustling through the box of books that Penguin Group sent my way a few weeks back. I was bored but once I found ETERNAL SIN from Laura Wright my boredom was over and then some.
ETERNAL SIN is the sixth, yes sixth book in her erotically seductive MARK OF THE VAMPIRE series. If you chose one book to reade from Laura Wright, I say, make the right decision and pluck ETERNAL SIN of your favorite local book store on November 5th.
Ms. Wright knows exactly what she is doing when you swipe her finger tips of her magical keyboard. Ms. Wright is an artist of the heart having immersed in acting, singing and competitive ball dancing. That being said, you can see how creative this author is that her stories must be just as well developed and stopped in creative juices pouring from page to page. To say I'm a devoted fan is like saying does a woman like chocolate. Reading a Wright book is complete escapism and adventure for the romantic reader at heart. Why?
Her characters are so well written and grounded in reality even being set in the paranormal genre. Take away the paranormal element, the erotic sexual love scenes and you have flesh and blood characters that want what all readers want. I love so deep, passionate and to mean the world to some one that Wright makes this element in her story quite clear from the get go. That no to say that her characters, especially in ETERNAL SIN Petra When and Synjon Wise do not have the obstacles to overcome. Wright is brilliant at blocking this couple’s happy ending at every turn. Just when you think the couple has defeated emotional and physical demons Wright pulls the fantasy from beneath her readers’ feet time and again. She is flawless in keeping her readers engaged from page to page.
ETERNAL SIN is the perfect read for paranormal and urban fantasy readers. A book with Laura Wright’s name on the book a reader knows they are in for one intensely passionate adventure. Wright delivered with Petra When and Synjon Wise. Most of the time, I am drawn to the hero of the book. I believe somewhere deep inside of my beating heart I’m hoping they might exists. It’s my fantasy and I’m sticking to it. Petra is the perfect heroine. She has so many things happening that any normal person would have lost her mind. She is contemplative and courageous that the hero couldn’t help being drawn to her. Petra is self possessed, knows herself but at the best of times isn’t intimidated to show her softer side. This heroine is one bad as chick. Not in she won’t hand the hero his walking papers or kick his deliciously sexy butt, which she does, but this character has a quiet strength that drew me. I spent two straight nights reading into the wee hours of the nigh because I was desperate to see how Petra turned her emotionless vampire around. Thing is, Petra did it by just being herself. No magic powers or spells, Petra just went on with living her life and being the kind of heroine that I was proud to have read.
ETERNAL SIN is not for the faint of heart when it comes to sexual love scenes. Wright is explicit in her descriptions and her word usage might not be some readers cup of tea, but do not let that dissuade you. The core or the heart of the story at the beginning is vengeance. As readers continue to read and watch the characters develop into living breathing characters that leap from the page to grab you by the heart they see a two individuals who finally let go of the fantasy to grasp for that golden ring…love. ETERNAL SIN is a must read in my opinion. (less)

I’m starting thi...moreREVIEW: Escape your reality by jumping into New York Times bestselling author Lisa Renee Jones latest erotic series ESCAPING REALITY. I’m starting this review off with a blast. ESCAPING REALITY is the ultimate escapism book that all romance junkies should have in their library. Once you download it do not hesitate to sit in your comfiest chair and hunker down for a delicious sensual read. ESCAPING REALITY had me hooked from the word GO. I have been a fan of Ms. Jones for sometime, but ESCAPING REALITY solidified me as a life long fan girl.
Ms. Jones quickly introduces readers to Amy Benson topsy-turvy world. A white envelope with her only her name has Amy leaving her life behind and heading to the airport. Once there, Amy locates the locker. Once again Amy is running, a new identity and a new place to call home. What she doesn’t expect to find is sexy billionaire Liam Stone sitting next to her on the four hour plane ride to Denver. Neither is she used to the instant chemical reaction she has to this dark and dangerous man. Liam definitely doesn’t fit in her newest plans to go off the grid, but there is something about him that has Amy pushing her best instincts to the side.
When author Lisa Renee Jones gave a call out to bloggers and reviewers to read and review ESCAPING REALITY I was desperate to get my hands on this new series form her. Ms. Jones does a fantastic job giving her readers a strong, fearless and emotional stripped heroine in Amy Benson that leaves her readers rooting for her happily ever after. Amy Benson was the selling point, for me, to beginning this series. I enjoy a character that has some serious flaws and strong emotional issues that make me care about them. Ms. Jones did this in spades.
With every great heroine she needs a hero that will pull the best and worst from her. Liam Jones is Amy Benson’s perfect match. From the moment we spot Liam in form fitting tee and jeans at the airport we know this dynamic man will be the beginning and end for Amy. Whether, Liam Jones will be her greatest love or heartbreak that is yet to be determined. What I do know is that Ms. Jones created a hero that is uber alpha male. She is consistently giving her readers what they crave... heroes, especially Liam Jones, is a living breathing dream.
Books are all about characters. If a reader doesn’t connect with the characters of the story, than the writer, quite frankly, has not done their job. This is not the case in Lisa Renee Jones’s ESCAPING REALITY. Beside our hero and heroine ESCAPING REALITY is chocked full of interesting characters that I hope I get to read more about. One such character is Derek, Liam’s gorgeous blonde haired, blue eyed best friend that had my heart racing faster. He seems to be a complex character that has me wondering what he is hiding beneath all that delicious sexiness that oozes from every pore.
ESCAPING REALITY has some arcane moments that are incredibly powerful in moving the story forward. The moment Amy receives the white envelope with her name spearheads her life into fast forward into the unknown. A wonderfully sensually erotic story that completely feeds readers needs for an emotional gripping prose, well rounded characters with scorching love scenes so hot it melts the pages.
My only complaint about ESCAPING REALITY is that I have to wait for the second installment in Ms. Jone’s SECRET LIFE OF AMY BENSON. Would it be unkind to beg Ms. Jones to type a bit faster? I’m not sure how to fill the void until the next book reaches my greedy fingers. ESCAPING REALITY is a must on every romance junkies bookshelves. I highly recommend that when ESCAPING REALITY releases that you download as fast as you can.

Little did I know that I would become a fanatic fan of this wonderful authors work?
Her latest release, THE ADMIRAL’S HEART can be summed up in one word. Fantastic. Splendid. Sublimely sweet. Okay, so maybe I need a few more words to sing the praise of Ms. Harmon’s very first foray into writing after a very long twelve year hiatus from writing. I, for one, and thankful that she has taken up the pen and paper and have treated us to a romantic morsel that will leave you sighing a bit after you finish reading. Set you lunch hour aside and dive into the delicious story of a young lost love to finally be given a second chance ten years later.
Step into the opulent Georgian world that only Danelle Harmon can create with her rich dialogue, beautiful setting and magnetic prose rounded it with two of the most charming characters I have enjoyed reading.
This decadent morsel is perfect in introducing readers to the world of 1774 where we meet the DeMontforte Brothers beautiful cousin, LadyLady Philippa Ponsonby Hatfield , who ten years ago made a terrible sacrifice. Giving up the one man she loved and wanted to share her days with in a moment of youthful insecurity. Now, years later she is at a ball being hosted by her cousin Lucien de Montforte, the mighty duke of Blackheath as his brother Charles whose regiment is off to fight in the continent. What Phillipa does not expect is to see the man she jilted, Royal Navy captain, Sire Elliot Lord walking her way. She had been desperately in love with the dashing blode haired Adonis. As he draws near Phillipa can not face him and rushes out of the ball room.
Fate has intervened and Sir Elliot will not let another moment pass with out making Phillipa his very own. She is more striking now than she ever was. Elliot’s heart has always ached for her. He will find out the truth of why she left him all those years ago. But, this time, he will not her walk away and he will use any means necessary to make her his.
THE ADMIRAL’S HEART is a sweet love story that encapsulates everything a romance reader loves. Beautiful characters that engage your heart form the very first word. A prose beautiful written and crafted by a true genuine story teller who readers can tell loves her story as much as the readers. Plush and a magical setting that treats the reader to a world they will never visit.
THE ADMIRAL’S HEART would be a wonderful addition to any book shelf and should from lunch time to lunch time be taken out to read over and over again. (less)

She is setting the bar and tempting readers at every turn in her latest Entangled Publishing sizzling erotic release TREACHEROUS TEMPTATIONS
Raise your glass readers to a phenomenal new name in the world of Georgian historical romance,. Ms. Victoria Vane has jumped into readers hearts with her very own splend-tastic spin of the classic 1987 movie DANGEROUS LIAISON. Button down the hatches, because Vane delivers one horrifically evil, villainous viper in the shape of Lady Barbra Blanchard who doesn’t have a good bone in her voluptuous body and will destroy any one who gets in her way.
But, wait, I’m getting a head of myself. TREACHEROUS TEMPTATIONS is an all out romp of erotic intrigues, the debauchery of innocence and a love that will triumph over evil in the end.
Don’t you just love a reluctant heiress plopped from the countryside of England and brought into the viperous world of the Georgian ton? Then welcome to Miss Mary Elizabeth Edwardes world. Fate has deemed it time for one of England’s heiress with one of the larges fortunes in the kingdom to find a husband—which she desperately does not one. Give her the country, the fresh air and the familiar people around her and she will be quite happy to live out her quite little existence. Plots are afoot and her guardian has political plans of his own that involve for Mary marrying. Enlisting the help of his mistress, Lady Barbara Blanchard—who has diabolical designs on the girl herself—to help shape the country bumpkin into the reigning bell of the ball, but at what price will Mary transition from duckling to swan cost he in the end?
Called back from his escaped abroad, Lord Hadley Blanchard has lived the life of debauchery and has had is hands in every vice known to man and then some. Hadley cannot help but be intrigued by the proposition of seducing the very young and naive country-miss before him. A master of seduction, taking Mary Elizabeth Edwardes innocence and enacting his revenge should be child’s play. That is until; Hadely begins to feel a spark that had long been extinguished at his father’s untimely passing. Hadley doesn’t believe in redemption. Heck, he himself, sees himself as irredeemable and to far gone into the depths of depravity to every find his way out. He knows that to despoil Mary is like taking away the only good and pure part in his life. As Hadley comes to terms with his feeling about Mary he is also venturing to thwart the man who took away his title and lands and to double cross the woman who brought him into the world of deprivation and stole his innocence all those years ago.
Keeping Mary out of their clutches and near to his heart Hadley will ply and try all the skills of seduction he knows to win the one woman who makes him complete.
After reading a Victoria Vane novel I am always in awe of how she transforms this almost mythical Georgian world by the creatively imaginative dialogue. One of my favorite things about a Victoria Vane book is that her dialogue is so genuine, witty and unique to the time. She capitulates her readers into an opulent world that leaves a readers imagination running wild.
Her characters are in a word—sublime. They are intricately crafted and left this reader genuinely awestruck at how real hey felt. Mary and Hadley are the perfect combination of good and evil. Raised by her loving father Mary is very innocent in the way of the ‘ton’, but she isn’t clueless. She is strong and highly intelligent with a heart of gold. In the Georgian age giving a person the benefit of the doubt would cost you your life; and it almost cost Mary hers. Hadley is all the way at the other spectrum and for the last seven or so years has wallowed in his self-pity over his father death and his innocent roll he played in it. Hadley dived into the vice, drink and whoring and reveled in it. Until he sees Mary. His first instinct is t enacts his revenge, but as the lot thickens and Hadley grows he knows there is more than petty revenge. One of the worst, but have to say I enjoyed her was the viperous vixen and Hadley’s wicked—very wicked and evil step-mother. From the moment she appears on the scene I despised her. Good job, Victoria. This character by far is the most despised and terrifically written villain I have read in a very long time. Victoria Vane makes it so a reader can do nothing but cheer ad root for Barbara’s demise all the while having a love-hate relationship with her.
I simply could not help but fall in-love with the world and characters of TREACHEROUS TEMPTATIONS. This story is seduction on a stick. Victoria Vane is wonderful at leaving her fans wanting more. And for the first time readers will be clamoring to read more of Victoria Vane’s work. (less)

This was exactly what happened when Georgia historical romance author contacted me to read her THE DEVIL DEVERE SERIES.
First in the series is A WILD NIGHT’S BRIDE which is a delectable enticing beginning to a series that takes your breath away. Vane is a wonderful word mistress encapsulating the heart of the Georgian era with the masterful stroke of her keyboard.
This morsel has it all..
A WILD NIGHT’S BRIDE has a phenomenal rich cast of characters in her decadent world of the Georgian ton.
Down on her luck, actress, Phoebe Scott has no other choice than to find a protector. But a night at an infamous brothel brings her face to face with the one man that will change her world. What the young belle is unprepared for is losing her heart and falling deeply in love in the blink of an eye.
It has been three years since Sir Edward Chamber’s beloved Annalese died in childbirth. Edward has not felt the spark of life in sometime. Its up to his best friend Viscount Ludovic DeVere to bring him back into the land of the living. With an invite in hand for a night of decadent debauchery to the Otahetian Feast of Venus, held at Kings James brothel Vic will lead his friend into temptation.
Jumping back into life is not high on Sir Edward Chamber’s list, until he came face to masked face with a vixen with blond hair with the most beguiling blue eyes. A torrent of passion ignites between the lovers leaving them breathless and turning Ned’s staid little life into a whirlwind and delivers intoxicating love that he cannot deny.
Do you believe in love at first sight? I know, myself, I didn’t believe that it actually happens. Well, I have been converted since reading A WILD NIGHT’S BRIDE by Georgian historical romance author Victoria Vane. This short story is packed with an explosive punch that takes readers breath away. This book has the “ping” factor. This is a moment that a reader could completely relate to. There were so many “ping”. The moment that sticks out for me is when Ned and Phoebe first meet at the Otahetuan Feast of Venus at King James Brothel. We see both characters in a vulnerable moment. This is also the first time since his wife’s death that he has allowed himself to engage in the intense emotional and sexual feelings he has held dormant. Phoebe’s vulnerability is shown through her the way she jumps to help DeVere and Ned in DeVere’s ludicrous wager. In the end, it is the characters; Phoebe and Ned, one longing to be loved completely and another letting go of the pain and letting love heal both of them.
Victoria Vane is fascinating her readers with scintillating tales set in the opulent Georgian ton. Giving her fans, Vane’s flesh and blood characters deliver sparkling dialogue that engage the readers’ imaginations and captures their hearts. A WILD NIGHT’S BRIDE is a must reader for all those romance junkies out there. (less)

I literally felt the heat sting my fingers as I turned the pages. Kery writes scorchers with heart. Kery is constantly giving readers one sensual charged romance with characters that explode off the pages time and again. Kery’s latest A One Night of Passion Novel EXPOSED TO YOU explodes from the starting gate claiming a readers need to escape into the erotic world that only a true wordsmith, such as Kery could creat with such powerful characters that leap of the page with ever word that she types. In other word...Kery is pure magic and so are her characters.
I stayed up until the break of dawn this morning devouring every word about a reserved and careful art teacher, Joy Hightower as she painted a body tattoo on one of Hollywood’s sexiest men to grace the big screen, Everett Hughes. What’s a girl to do when the hottest man in the world is hell bent on making you scream with unadulterated pleasure again and again? give in and never look back.
In a rare moment, when raw hot desire sparks between Joy and Everett, they plunge into a lightening bolt of hot sexual with intense sensuality one moment of passion, that changes both of them the minute they touch, both believing it is a one time thing.
Fourteen months later, while eating dinner with a few friends at Harry’s Brew and Bake in Chicago in walks the man she had a one-time-atomic- explosive sexual experience with the no named God. Something inside her had told her to grasp this once in a life time opportunity. Why not? She was never going to see him again, right Fate is a prickly thing. The last time Joy saw Everret she had her paint bush painting on the most beautifully sculpted canvas at Hightower Special Effects--that had made her lose her mind-- where she painted on a body tattoo to the man who rocked her world in more ways then one. Never in Joy’s wildest imagination did she ever think she would see him again.
Fourteen months later, while eating dinner with a few friends at Harry’s Brew and Bake in Chicago in walks the man she had a one time atomic explosion of lust …that she was sure she had lost her mind. The last time she saw him was at Hightower Special Effects where she painted on a body tattoo to the man who rocked her world in more ways then one. Never in Joy’s wildest imagination did she ever think she would see him again. Everett Hughes is the sexiest man on earth and could have and had any woman he has ever wanted. But all that changed the moment he felt her lips against his skin.
At first sight, Everett knew Joy was a special woman. She's nothing like the Holltwood Divas he has been linked to throughout his famust and lucritve move carrer. This woman made him feel and believe in things he never thought were withing his grasp. Now that his greatest fantasy is within his grasp he will do anything to have abd to hold. Everett knew he would do anything to make this vunerable woman feel adored and worshipped. It will take a man with a heart as wide ad the Grand Canyon to expose the truth of this very vunarable woman who has longed for love and to be desired. Everett has a long road a head of him but he will use everything in his arsenal to have Joy in his arm, his bed and finally in have her heart.
I loved, loved, and loved EXPOSED TO YOU. I have been longing for Everett Hughes story from the moment I read ADDICTED TO YOU a few months back. Now I am hopelessly devoted to award-winning author Beth Kery. Her writing is like nothing I have experienced. The heart-wrenching prose that Kery creates keeps me up until the wee hours of the morning. When I get a whiff that Beth Kery has a book coming out I am online in search of any and all information.
Exposed to you is a character driven story. Readers will fall in love with Everett and Joy the moment you read the first paragraph. These characters are sensational craft and pop from the page. Kery has a way of placing her readers into the core of the story. I love the feel that I am participating in the journey and not standing on the sideline feeling like a voyeur. Everett and Joy’s sexual gymnastics is an atomic nuclear explosion every time their lips touch.
EXPOSED TO YOU is addictive in every way with characters that even after I finished reading are resonating in my psyche. Kery writes riveting characters, dialogue that grabs your heart, a magnetic prose wrapped in an intense story that you just will not want to put down. It is no wonder that Kery is an award-winning author with books that pack a full adrenaline-charged punch. EXPOSED TO YOU has everything a reader wants in a romance, but Kery adds that little bit more to send her readers over the edge.

I know you are dying to know, so I will share. I have the most difficult time of letting Ms. Hawkins's characters go. The same thing happened when I picked up her latest HOW TO CAPTURE A COUNTESS. This intoxicating and thrilling first installment in Hawkins’s new Duchess Diaries series delivers everything a romance reader demands: engaging characters, witty dialogue all wrapped in a fascinating love story that envelopes a readers heart from the word go.
Miss Rose Balfour once was a starry-eyed girl who fell madly in love with the Lord of Sin. Stung by his indifference, Rose thought it a brilliant idea to get an illicit kiss from Sin. But when push came to shove Rose panicked shoving said Lord into a fountain, to cool his jets, making Lord Alton Sinclair the laughing stock of the ton for the last six years.
Revenge is sweet and Sin had enough time to plot his vengeance against the Scottish beauty. As luck would have it, his favorite aunt, Duchess of Roxburghe's annual house party is at hand for is nefarious plans. Sin urges his aunt to send the Scottish Rose an invite. For Sin this will be the perfect place to ruin Rose’s reputation and give her a taste of her own medicine.
Sin does not expect beguiling beauty that stands before him. This might be more difficult than he first thought. In the end, it might be the Scottish Rose that just might send his plans (and world) all topsy-turvy. Now, Rose and Sin have drawn the proverbial line in the sand. Let the Battle of the Sexes begin. One will win and one will lose, but in the end the vengeance Sin was desperate for will turn into the love he so desperately needs.
I have been in desperate anticipation to reading Hawkins’s new Duchess Series after reading the excerpt in the back of THE TAMING OF A SCOTTISH PRINCESS. Let’s just say, Hawkins’s had me at Scottish. I freely admit, tell me a story will take place in Scotland or a character is Scottish and I am there. This time, I was there solely for the characters Miss Rose Balfour and Lord Alton (Sin) Sinclair. In HOW TO CAPTURE A COUNTESS Hawkins’s reminded me of the time I was sixteen crushing on the high school jock with rapt adoration who didn’t even glance my way once. But, with HOW TO CAPTURE A COUNTESS our hero has an instant connection the moment Rose touches his forearm. I would say, Rose’s turn out was a lot better than mine.
I am one of those romantics that believe in love at first sight. At the beginning of the book we are graced with an innocent Rose and a very jaded Sin. At that moment, both, Rose and Sin have preconceived notions of who the other is. For six years, Sin nursed the intense ill feelings he has for the girl who helped to dub him as Lord Fin. These two characters were so fun to watch. With their war of words and war of the sexes I found myself laughing out loud at their antics. One of my favorite moments is when Rose and Sin set out to have their private archery contest but end up bombard with people. You could feel Sin’s intense frustration of wanting to be alone with Rose. Well, he does end up sneaking back around the house to find Rose in the copse by the lake. I can not give to much away but I will tell you there is a kiss that will curl a readers toes.
HOW TO CAPTURE A COUNTESS is a character driven story. There was one character that pops out, is Sins favored aunt, Margaret, Duchess of Roxburghe. She plays a pivotal part when she gives both Rose and Sin some much needed advice. This Duchess has a heart of gold but she is not one to mince words.
“Margaret came to stand by the fire, wrinkling her nose as she caught the smell of stale ale. “You smell like a tavern.”
His lips twisted into a sneer. “Behold Sin!”
“Behold Foolishness is more like it,” she said in a sharp tone. “You’re drunk.”
She took the chair closet to the fireplace and sat.
“Well, Sin? What brings you banging on my door in the middle of the night, soaked in gin? After the last time I saw you, I’m surprised to see you crossing my threshold.”
“Aunt Margaret, I’m sorry for---“He raked a hand through his hair and laughed shakily. “God, I’m so sorry for many things.”
“Oh?” She reached down and scooped a pug into her lap, patting it as it settled across her knees, warmer than a blanket. The others settled before the fire, plopping like fat snowballs onto the hearth rug. “You may be sorry for many things—God knows we all are. But I suspect that only one of those things is what’s bothering you now, and I don’t think it has to do with me.”
There is the ever determined Mr. Munro, who has sets his sights on Roses. Wormy, fits perfectly for this character. It was so much fun watching Rose duck and weave Munro's advancs. At every turn she tried to avoid him. This, some how always led her into Sin's arms. Score one for Sin. Zero for Rose. There is one more character who I have a slight crush on. McDougal is Lady Roxburghe's butler. I believe it was the way he rolled his "R'"s that clinched the deal. That, and he is just one of those characters that you can envision his the sparkling smiling his eyes and hear his thick Scottish brogue. Hawkins's does a fabulous job, once again, weaving sub-characters and sub-plots flawlessly giving readers an exciting character filled story.
To wrap up, HOW TO CAPTURE A COUNTESS was a humorous love story filled with relatable and engaging characters, a captivating plot filled with laughs, joy and sensuality so hot between the protagonists to ignite the pages. This book was a joy to read filled with loving characters that I cannot wait to visit again when Hawkins’s second installment in her Duchess Diaries is released. (less)

I believe that Katharine Ashe has a magical wand where she sits like the fairy godmother in CINDERELLA and waves it over her keyboards. To believe that Katharine doesn’t poses super powers when she writes is like saying the earth doesn’t rotate around the sun. Do you rember when you were a child and you were asked, “When you grow up who would you like to be like?" I’m a grown adult, four teenage daughters and a budding writing career, but to answer that question…when I grow up—in the literary world—I want to write like Katharine Ashe.
With each new book released Katharine Ashe keeps getting better bring her audience a magical love story, rich prose and protagonist that simply steal your heart while taking you on their emotional charged journey. Ashe addresses some hot-button issues in her latest Falcon Club installment HOW A LADY WEDS A ROGUE being released from Avon Romance in just a few days.
Reader you may recall the classic fairy tale about an ugly duckling that turns into a beautiful swan written by the incomparable Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen...THE UGLY DUCKLING. HOW A LADY WEDS A ROGUE is very reminiscent of this story. Meet Diantha… who once was an ugly duckling in her youth, but as time does tell we grow into our beauty… a swan. Thing about our Diantha is that now that she is a swan she doesn’t have a clue that not only is she beautiful on the inside but also on the outside. For this alone, is what makes Diantha Lucas—in my opinion—a stand-out character. Many will recall Diantha Lucas as an awkward, pimpled face and chubby sixteen year old step sister of Serena Carlyle(CAPTURED BY A ROGUE LORD) and Viola Carlyle(HOW TO BE A PROPER LADY) Now she is all grown up, still head strong and on a mission to find and speak to the mother who abandoned her. Things do not go according to plan when she meets the dangerously hands and brandy-brained Wyn Yale. Yale plays an intimate part in her girlish daydreams of being rescued and whisked away by an adoring hero. Tree years ago Wyn intervened and rescued her from a group of youngling cut-ups harassing her at her sister’s wedding. From that moment on Diantha has harbored a slight crush for the Welsh anointing him the honor of hero.
During his time of finding and rescuing kidnapped and runaway girls for the elite and secret Falcon Club agent Wyn Yale has never considered himself a hero. Pickled yes, but never a hero. Yale is fighting his own demons and is on his very own mission to deliver a horse and kill a duke when their paths intercede. His protective hackles are up and decide to make Diantha Lucus believe he will help her with her hair brain scheme to find her mother. Time is not on Yale’s side but he cannot leave Diantha to her own devices. Left on her own god only knows what this beautiful hellion could get up to.
HOW A LADY WEDS A ROGUE was so much fun to read. I hate to admit that I did not read CAPTURED BY A ROGUE LORD and get the honor to meet the young Diantha. I would have enjoyed reading the scene where Wyn puts those harassing near-do-wells in their place. I absolutely adore Diantha Lucas. I could relate to Ashe’s characters on so many levels. For the last three years Diantha has dealt with the pain of a mother’s abandonment, an involved step-father and quite not knowing where she fits in. From early on, Diantha’s mother was straight up horrible to her. Another item I could whole heartedly relate to. In desperation to find and talk to her mother Diantha makes a plan…ever the big planner she is…to take two weeks to find her mother and rescue her from the life of iniquity. I had to give Dianthia credit for her powerful convictions. The way Ashe writes this extraordinary complicated character was intricately and uniquely Katharine Ashe. Where everyone sees Dianthia as scattered brain, fly-by-the seat-of-her- pants where trouble finds her Ashe shows readers a woman who is straight forward, speaks her mind and will do anything for people she loves. This is the woman that Wyn sees. And for her, Wyn decides she deserves a better man than one who is continually in the bottle. Diantha has been groomed to believe no man will ever want her because of her ways. Ironically, Ashes created the exact duplicate in male for as Wyn Yale. Where dianthia was never a good enough daughter, or pretty enough or graceful enough for her mother the same was said about Yale. At a tender age Wyn learned to hide his intellect and his love for education. His father and brothers beat it out of him until he left home at the tender age of sixteen. He grew-up with his admired aunt who nurtured his love for learning. I love the parallel between Dianthia and Wyn’s lives. Ash is brilliant at showing connections and why these two protagonists are drawn together.
As to HOW A LADY WEDS A ROGUE’s cast of character, you can be certain that Ashe delvers with her trade mark eccentric loveable crew. From Mrs. Pooley, who is hired on to be Diantha’s chaperone on their way to find Dianthas’s mother. I would describe Mrs. Pooley as a loveable bull dog who is fiercely devoted to her charge. Lord and Lady Alex Savege (CAPTURED BY A ROGUE LORD)(WHEN A SCOT LOVES A LADY) make an appearance. And readers will be quite thrilled to see them, too.
When I first opened turned the page of HOW A LADY WEDS A ROGUE I knew that a magical story waited inside. There were many moments that Dianthia and Wyn had me pulling my hair out. Then in the next breath I felt my eyes tearing for the emotional struggle the couple had just went through.
I have yet to pick up a Katharine Ashe book that I did not find myself completely engrossed in the love story. Her characters are full of life with quick and snappy dialogue that places readers into the heart of the story. Diantha and Wyn’s love story isn’t unique but their journey and how they get to their happily ever after is nonpareil.

After you read this I know you will be TEMPTED to click on the link to purchase MARKED.
“Some nights, a woman just wanted to bash her brains in against a wall to keep from screaming. For Casey Simopolous, this was one of those nights.”
From the first moment readers are introduced to Casey (Acacia) Simopolous they will fall in love with this snarky, smart-ass character that not only steals Theron’s heart but readers as well. By no means is Casey and Theron a match made in heaven. Theron is sent to the human realm for one purpose. Find the chosen one. Bring her back to Angolea and lead her to her destiny--- death. The ever dutiful Theron sees this as a no brainer. Get the girl bring her back and everything will be hunky-dor-ee. Not so fast, oh mighty hero with the dangerous eyes and drop dead body that sends shockwaves of electricity shooting through our girl Casey’s body. This woman is not about to lie down and die. Even though in the last few weeks she has felt run down and knows something is major going on inside her body. Casey hasn’t had the easiest of lives. Her grand mother has recently passed away, she is working two jobs to pay for her grandmother's hospital bills. Running her family book store by day and dealing with drunken frat boys by night at the local strip joint XScreams, it's no wonder Casey is feeling a bit overwhelmed and beaten up. The thing is, our girl, Casey is not one to let it get her down. She is the type of alpha heroine who looks these adversities straight in the eyes and says, “Is that the best you can do?” I adore the fact that Ms. Naughton has loads of external and internal conflicts being hurled at her heroine, and not once does the character step back to have a woe-its-me moment. Most of the time, our kick-ass heroine, Casey is hauled kicking and screaming while being hefted over one massive Argonauts shoulder as she pummels his backside, but, like I mentioned, this character is a fighter.
The cast of characters in MARKED are definitely a crowd above the rest. They are decedents from the original band of heros whom individually have some amazing God-like powers. I am a type of reader who while reading I am always on the look out for that stand-out character, beside the main protagonists of the story. MARKED had a slew of them. Some of these characters have been lucky enough to have their very own book(check Elisabeth Naughton's website for more details) . I could not help but be charmed the second this little charmer leapt onto the page. The little soothsayer, Marissa, who is a little girl no more than five who carries around a rag doll named Minnie. This ‘special’ little girl has lived through some major crisis and has the scars to show for it. She reminds me a lot of Casey. Even though her family and other Misos (half-breeds) have been hidden away as if they never existed and fighting for survival against the Daemons with no help from Argonauts or the Gods this little girl sees the world with a glass-half-full attitude. The way Naughton created her reader’s imagination is treated with splendid imagery that you can see her curls bouncing in excitement and her eyes sparkling when she spots Nick ---these two shares a special bound that you will have to read MARKED to find out more.
To say ‘all is fair in love in war’, would be a slight understatement in MARKED. There is a war brewing. Casey is the CHOSEN ONE that will ignite the beginning of this war. Theron is in a pickle—honor, loyalty and duty or love. Now that Theron has found his soul mate should he sacrifice his heart for the greater good?
In MARKED Naughton ask readers to trust that her hero in the end will stand by his convictions and do the right thing. Personally, I don’t think she asked to much of Theron. Theron is one of those uber alpha males who has tunnel vision at the beginning of a story but when conflict kicks him in the head he has to quickly evaluate loyalty over duty and hope in the end he chooses the correct one. I rooted for Theron to throw of the cloak of duty and to go with where his heart lead him. Which is saying a lot, since this Argonaut believed he never had a heart. Naughton was superb in showing readers through descriptive imagery that this warrior wasn't just a buff body, brawn and brain but had genuine feelings---even when he fought them for going with his heart. If you asked Theron, he would tell you his heart didn't exists until Casey entered his life. Now, how could you not root for their happily ever after?
MARKED had some really great moments. There were times where I found my stomach clenching in anticipated horror to the outcome of some of Theron’s choices. I felt my eyes tear up a few times as I watched Casey’s independent and caring personality unfold. Casey is on of those characters who comes across with has a true loving heart paved in gold and would sacrifice her very being if it meant another person would be safe. Naughton has this unique ability of placing her readers the heart of her stories. Not only placing us at center stage but showing us through her wonderfully scripted prose, dynamic characters and a love story so powerful that it defies all things. When you get own to it in the end all you have is love and that it conquers all in the end. Elisabeth Naghton proves time and again that her readers are at the heart f her stories. I have yet to be disappointed by anything that pick up. But in the end, I always walk away with a smile on our face and thinking, “Wow!”(less)
If you love Regency romance than Cara Elliot should be a must your book shelf. Elliott sets Regency romance rocking.
Whatever you are reading at this very moment put it down and pick up a copy of Historical romance authors TOO TEMPTING TO RESIST. This is Elliott’s second installment in her fantastically fascinating exotic Lords of Midnight domain. This group of Hellhound rogues will win your heart from the moment they enter your quixotic atmosphere.
TOO TEMPTING TO RESIST is the story of the Marquess of Hadden, Gryffin Dwight, who readers were introduced to in TOO WICKED TO WED. The story takes place in the opulent and plush Regency world of the ton. For years the Marquess and his Hellhound brothers have honed their rapscallion ways by owning one f London’s seedier hell known as The Wolf’s Lair. Hadden recently has felt a shift come upon him. His old ways do not seem to beguile him. Not as much as the blonde haired, blue eyed angel, Lady Eliza Brentford, has run her wayward brother down to his favorite den. Nothing prepares Hadden for the beauties feisty and steadfast nature. Tempted be on reason, Gryffin finds himself drawn to Eliza like a bee to flowers sweet nectar. He knows she is trouble, but there is something about this country spirit that leaves all rational thought behind when she is around.
Lady Eliza is not some insipid country bumpkin. No this spirited gel has hunted her wicked wastrel of a brother to give him a piece of her mind. She never expected to find the very devastatingly handsome stranger, with stunning green eyes her brothers Deity of sin starring at her among the raucous and revelry of The Wolf’s Den. The man was made for sin. Eliza becomes intoxicated yearning to learn more about the rakehell with the stunning green eyes. First she must curb her incorrigible brother while fighting the temptation that is Lord Hadden.
I am a sucker for a Cara Elliott's books. If it has Cara Elliott the cover I am thee. TOO TEMPTING TO RESIST is the perfect title for this story. From the moment I held the book with t beguiling couple surrounded with its intoxicating pink I was a goner. I gave up all pretenses and indulged in the rich transcendent world that only Cara Elliott cold creates. We were introduced to Gryffin Hadden in TOO WICKED TO WED. The moment he arrived I kept a little mantra of, “I hope his book arrives soon” all the while reading TOO WICKED TO WED. Now, Griffin Hadden is here, and boy, am I excited he is. On the outside looking in Gryffin Hadden is everything a Regency Marques is perceived to be: jaded rogues gorgeous and expects everyone to follow his word. Beneath beats the heart of a romantic, a writer, a lover of gardens and architectural landscaping. He has a heart of gold and doesn’t seek out recognition when he does something kind. He is steadfast in his conviction and will go above and beyond to help a friend or loved one in need. The fact that Eliot paired Hadden with Lady Eliza Brentford is simply priceless. This blonde haired, blue eyed sprit is not what she seems. Her indelible fierce spirit draws readers in like a moth to a flame. Even with her world crumbling around her a dastardly devil trying to blackmail her, along with a self-indulgent brother who only cares about his vices and nothing more Eliza stands firm in finding a way to save her beloved Leete abbey. I adore Eliza. It really wasn’t hard to connect with this young beauty who believes she is nothing but a plain impoverished country widow. Lady Eliza was never appreciated for what and who she is. A talented young artist who lived under the thumb of her previous older husband is now at a cross road for her own independence. Lady Eliza even plays down her artistic ability by stating to Lord Gryffin that she dabbles and isn’t very talented. Lady Eliza has heart as grand and deep as the Atlantic Ocean. You cannot help but feel optimistic about Lady Eliza and Gryff reaching their happily ever after in the end.
Lady Eliza and Lord Gryff are the major reason I was kept glued to TOO TEMPTING TO RESIST, but like every great story they need a wonderful supporting cast. There are two stand-out characters that you are going to enjoy. Every hero needs a best friend and Gryff is lucky to have two. Connor, The Earl of Killingworth from TOO WICKED TO WED. But it is the other Hellhound Rogue, Cameron Daggett from Elliott’s upcoming Grand Central publishing November 2012 release Too Dangerous to Desire. The best way to describe this dashingly mysterious man is best delivered by the author her self. “Out of the three Hellhounds, Cameron Daggett was perhaps the most enigmatic. And dangerous. A man of razor toothed wit and deliberately outrageous style, he gave the appearance of viewing life of nothing more than a scathing joke.” In short, Carmon Daggett is deliciously yummy and I cannot wait to read his story. Lady Eliza’s ex-governess and best friend, Miss Augustine Haverstick is the bi-polar opposite of Cameron Daggett. Elliott describes her as a tiny figure dwarfed by her white apron and oversized mobcap and a vision of white with pastel speckles. Miss Augustine is such a powerful voice with a loving presence that endears her to the reader.
Cara Elliott always rocks my socks off whenever I read one of her books. She sweeps readers away with another captivating heart-stopping read in her latest installment with TOO TEMPTING TO RESIST. Tempting readers’ senses is what Cara Elliott does best. Elliott’s ability to compel her readers through the sensual romantic adventure world of the Regency is why she is captivating audiences praise far and wide. Elliot’s Lords of Midnight series has everything a reader wants: compelling characters, dangerous plots e that sweeps readers away, sensual love scenes with a bewitching love story that leaves us wanting more.(less)

UNDONE IS A FULL-LENGTH HISTORICAL ROMANCE NOVEL.
Life is good!! I was fortunate to read historical romance author Lila DiPasqua recent release UNDONE. A romance loosely based on the beloved classic Grimm’s fairy tale, classic RAPUNZEL. Before I begin I would like to share a little trivia with you. Did you know, that the brothers actually adapted their own story from its original author Charlotte-Rose de Caumont de La Force who originally published Persinette in 1698. I can say with quite certainty that readers will not be disappointed when they have a copy of UNDONE in their hands. DiPasqua has turned up the heat and chemistry between her characters as she sets her romance in the decadently opulent 17th century France. We the readers will devour every word as DiPasqua introduces us to the wonderful world and characters of UNDONE.
Before we get into the heart of the review I need t be up front with you. Lila DiPasqua is one of my favorite authors. I first became a life long fan the moment I had a copy of AWAKENED BY HIS KISS. The moment I read these sensual intoxicating love stories I was hooked. DiPasqua does not disappoint in her latest Fiery Tale series UNDONE.
A commander of a fleet of privateer ships, Simon Boulenger has come a long way from the orphan rescued from starvation form the French fishing village streets. Over and over Simon is denied the one thing he wants killing his dream. Things could not become worse, or could they? Ensnared in a deadly scheme he must get out. Simon cannot afford any distraction. He must stay focused on his dangerous mission. But when an exquisite beauty knocks him off his feet Simon realizes he will do and sacrifice anything to make this woman his.
Maintaining her ruse as a lowly commoner has saved Angelica's life for the last ten years. Trusting no one has kept her safe, but destiny thrusts a handsome stranger in her path. Now this magnificently stunning man with arresting blue eyes and polished manners believes he is saving Angelica from a fate worth than death. What he does not know is that he is bring her straight into the Lion’s Den and placing her life in peril. Keeping people at arms length have been Angelica’s Saving Grace. But the smoldering attraction between the two is playing havoc on her steadfast resolve making it difficult to deny.
Simon soon discovers he is in to deep. With a passionate noble woman who is soul mate and beyond his reach, Simon will do anything to keep Angelica out of the clutches of her evil maniacal step-father risking everything to keep her safe. What won’t the lovers risk to hold onto a love that defies all the odds?
I am in love! It was not too difficult to fall in love with Simon Boulenger, but that is not what I am talking about. Bear with me; I will get back to the delicious sexy Simon in just a moment. What I am talking about is the fact that author Lila DiPasqua had me falling head over heels in over with 17th century France. I am a proud-card-carrying-history-geek. Thing is I never delved deep into French history, except for the French Revelution. Guess what I learned? There is much, much more French history waiting for us to explore. Let me be the first to tell you that DiPasqua captivates the spectacle opulently decadent world of King Louis XIV and it privileged posh realm of elegance and excess. Readers will appreciate the fact of being placed in the heart of this extreme enchanting universe.
Enter Simon Boulenger. An orphan saved from the French streets of a fishing village, Simon has done everything to make himself a pivotal and respectable part of society, except for obtaining a noble title. Simon is a character that every reader roots for. Simon wins readers hearts not only because he is uber hot, he is, but it is the fact this man made something out of himself when he was given the opportunity as a child. Yes, he is jaded, like most men at that time were. Thing is, underneath all his vibrato beats the heart of a warrior willing to risk and sacrifice anything for what he believes. When Angelica slams into his life, his first response is normal when seeing an exquisite beauty, lust. We soon learn that Simon does not tolerate any mistreatment or unjust no matter social standing. Simon had this reader’s heart from that moment on. Now for such a steadfast and upstanding alpha male you need a woman just as unfaltering in spirit. Enter, Angelica, noble by birth but a tragedy has sent her into hiding from a maniacal blackhearted man that would see her destroyed. This fiercely independent character is a gem from the moment she erupts onto the page. She is not your cookie-cutter heroine. Angelica has deep pin that keeps her guarded. Even though Angelica tries to hide and denies what she is feeling for Simon the author’s use of explicit descriptively characterizations sets the pace to the unraveling of this deep love story. DiPasqua is wonderful in showing her readers through the use of imagery the depths of her characters and the world they inhabit.
I love characters. Without heart-breathing real-to-life characters where would a story would? UNDONE is filled with three dimensional characters that I would love t sit around shooting the breeze. But the characters that stick-out the most are the main protagonists. They wee just to delectable to resist. Here is one of my favorite scenes. This is the scene of of Angelica and Simon's first meeting. DiPqsqua is a true creative author.
“The delay grated on Simon’s already thin patience his frustration churning inside him.
Before he could utter the profanity burning u his throat, a blow to his chest shot the air from his lungs and knocked him off his feet. The back of his head slammed against the ground, dazing him. He squeezed his eyes shut. His sword, still clutched in his hands, lay with him on the packed dirt
As he drew air back I his lings, awareness seeped into his senses. There was a body on top of him. Not just any body, but a soft one with ripe breasts pressed into his chest—the unmistakable body of a full grown woman.”
Are you imagining what happens next? Good! Cruel I know, but I like to leave readers wanting more.
Lila DiPasqua sizzles while delving into dark and light into humanity and delivering a erotic powerhouse of emotions. UNDONE is a story of a lush tale of romance, sexuality and the fragility of the human spirit. Lila DiPasqua delivers time and again a delightful, sexy and a redemptive romp keeping readers intoxicated from beginning to end. UNDONE is one spectacular read that kept this reader up until the break of dawn glued to the pages by infusing everyone with plenty of sizzle and a compelling story.
