I remember reading a segment about the history of ice cream and all the different nationalities arguing that they themselves invented ice cream. It was really interesting. Being a person who absolutely loves food I adored this book. It not only had history of different foods and some really fascinating facts about them but it also mentioned some really interesting recipes that I would really like to try some day....more

There was something about it that just drew me in. One thing I really liked about Minder was that there were serious elements, and then there were elements that made me laugh out loud. I loved the whole idea of Minder, it's not very often that I get to read books about psychics so when I do I really enjoy them. Minder is definitely no exception to the rule. I think one of the things I love the most about Minder is that it has different kinds of psychics. Usually with books they tend to highlight the good things about having psychic abilities and ignore the bad parts but Minder makes it far more realistic by showing that there are both good and bad parts to having psychic abilities. Kate Kaynak has created a great story with Minder and I devoured the entire thing in no time, because it really is amazing and there were no parts of the book that I got bored. The whole book was really interesting and I cannot wait to read the next book in the series. If you're interested in psychics and looking for a quick, light and amazing read then I definitely recommend Minder. ...more

I started reading it and absolutely loved reading it. The action was at a reasonable pace so I wanted to keep reading but didn't feel like things were rushing or taking too long.
I have to be honest that before I read the book I thought German Bad Guys + Leonardo Da Vinci makes a cliche book but actually no, I thought the Project was quite original in its ideas and the big secret of Da Vinci's was actually pretty cool.
The characters were really cool too. They added some humour into the book and while I did shake my head at some of Luke's crazy ideas and way of jumping into things without thinking I thought he was a good character. Tommy too.
A lot of reviews talk of The Project being for boys more than anything but I honestly think that both guys and girls will enjoy this one. There is no romance but I never really noticed until I stopped to think about it because it doesn't really matter.
There was one point in the novel where we are given a preview of how the most boring book in the world reads and let me say that Brian Falkner does an amazing job at making the book incredibly boring it really just added to my opinion that Brian Falkner is very good at writing.
If you're looking for a fun-filled action adventure story then you might just enjoy The Project because it is quite an enjoyable read....more

Kiss in the Dark is full of mystery, three different mysteries are presented and I was very curious about all three of them. Lauren Henderson is a terrific author who captures mysteries very very well. Scarlett and Taylor are at it again, somehow mystery always finds them and of course this time like the other time, they can’t help themselves and just have to try and solve the mystery of the mysterious death. As the big mystery in the first two books was solved and done and dusted I was really surprised to see another book in the series, but I’m glad that there was another book because it was really awesome. The book is a really fast read and doesn’t take very long to get through. It’s the kind of mystery that you just have to keep reading to find out what happened, so I whizzed through it to find out the whodunit. My one complaint is that it seemed really rushed with what happened, but I’m pretty sure there’s still more to it than meets the eye. I was happy with the ending because it means more mystery in the next book which I’m really looking forward to. If you love mysteries, then I suggest the Scarlett Wakefield series by Lauren Henderson. All three books in the series are really good. ...more

I liked Cooking With HealThe cover of this book looks so delicious and the colour scheme is really cool, so this is one very eye-catching recipe book. I liked Cooking With Healthy Girl because the pictures in this book looked so delicious. You definitely don’t want to be flicking through this book when you’re hungry because it makes you even hungrier. I spent ages just flicking through looking at the pictures over and over again because they make the food look so good. I actually made the mud cake in the book and I found the instructions really clear and the mud cake tasted really good, which is always a bonus. What’s more this book is full of healthy recipes, so it’s a healthier version of a mud cake. I really think that Cooking With Healthy Girl is a great recipe book as there are so many great recipes in it and the author, Mandy Potter, has made sure they’re all healthy and taste great. I’ll definitely be using this book for more of the recipes like, the Hamburger Pizza sounds amazing. Another really awesome thing is that with all the recipes there’s a lot of variety. So, I absolutely hate mince with a passion and it was good that I could find recipes that didn’t have mince. There was a really nice balance between the different meats used in each dish. My one issue with this book is that the temperature is in Fahrenheit and it doesn’t have conversion tables or actually state that it is in Fahrenheit so I did a bit of a double take when the recipe called for me to heat my oven to 350 (180 C). Other than that this recipe book is a great one and it’s worth adding to anybody’s collection. ...more
