Absolutely amazing until I got to the ending, which, really, TBH wasn't that necessary. (But I guess that is why there is more!) XD

My feelings are having feelings right now. Thank you Colin and Minerva for sharing your story. Or rather, thank you Tessa for writing their story!
As this epic love story just needed telling.
Oh, Colin and Minerva. Truly one of my favorite couples of ALL time. Colin, so beautiful, so heartbreakingly sincere and genuine, and honest. And tragically misunderstood. Let me hold you Colin, just let me hold you! On the surface he plays the part of the relentless rake. But who is the man inside his shell? Just who is this man who knows how to touch, but is untouchable?
And then there is Minerva, who lives life behind spectacles to see things clearly, but unfortunately, the things of life and love remain quite a blur. So very intelligent in all things, but so unaware at the same time. She is hidden behind her own shell, will she be able to overcome her insecurities and allow herself to become the person deep inside?
What can possibly happen when Colin and Minerva embark on a week long journey together, alone and unattended? What these two come up with certainly surprised me again and again.
I am so very tempted to give away the details, wanting to share just what had me laughing, what had me tearing up. Every single page just had this certain little charming something. This delightful something that felt real and fresh and honest. It felt beautiful, uplifting and something beyond that that I can't put a name to, but I loved it. Loved it so very much that I feel that it's a MUST read, it would be a positively amazing thing if everyone could feel this feeling too. Love that leaves me giddy and filled with joy

Don't gFinished this the previous night, but I couldn't bring myself to leave a review after such a frustratingly abrupt ending. Yes, I'm frustrated. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed this enthralling story about a cyborg who must find her true self after her world turns upside down. The world that she lives in is not just suffering from a plague, but hangs in the threat of war. Whether Cinder's world finds peace again, rests in her hands.
The reason for my frustration is that it DID end with a cliffhanger that had me pleading for more.
The story is, of course, a retelling of the classic fairy tale, Cinderella. It's almost comforting to have those familiar elements woven into the story. However, I was still surprised at the twists and turns, and I was pleased to find myself immersed and lost in whatever path the story took me on.
The characters are quite simply charming.
Cinder is refreshing, I fell in love with her character right from the start. Witty. Strong. Independent. A real, true to heart girl.
Kai, next in line to be emperor of New Beijing, makes a perfect Prince Charming. Ever the gentleman, Kaito suits the swoon-worthy role and makes it his own while wearing a hoodie.
And can't have a Cinderella story without her evil step-mother and step-sisters. I won't spoil the fun of the interesting spin on the love-to-hate villains, but I happened to love it.
As for the fairy god-mother, well, again I won't spoil it. But I have to say, she is my favorite character no matter her form.
I loved the freshness and the direction of the story, and though the cliffhanger is leaving me hanging, I'll definitely hold on for the next installment of this wicked, steampunk-ish story that happened to break out of the mold of the classic Cinderella story and has left me quite thoroughly enchanted....more

I'm not really sure how to even write a review for this. I can't possibly say words to explain just how amazing this book is. I wish there was an option to insert feelings *here*
This story is smart, funny, beautiful. I'm so in love with the characters.
Liliana and Geoffrey, I love them equally. And that is hard to come by in a romance, usually it's one or the other, but in this story my love is shared equally between the two.
Liliana, so spunky, so independent, so smart, a woman that speaks her mind and keeps you guessing.
Geoffrey, gah, just yes, please. Pretty please.
I knew they were meant to be right from the very first time they laid eyes on each other. The chemistry, OMG! And I'm not talking about Liliana's love for the field. I'm talking about sizzling hot passion that sparks between the pair whenever they interact.
I was intrigued from start to finish. This story has a plot that is pleasantly unpredictable. A nice pace that keeps things going. It's a charming, easy and delicious read that I will most likely pick up again just to feel the feelings... so good!...more

My words cannot explain the feelings I am feeling. My feelings are even having feelings. I read this book from cover to cover in one sitting. (Okay, I did take a break to eat and give myself a little talk to come to terms with things.) And I am exhausted, but in a really good way. In a way that I know I will want to read it again just so I could go through the whole experience again. I might have to wait and collect my thoughts first.
Just please do yourself a favor and read this breathtakingly beautiful story. And be prepared for a roller coaster of emotions. I cried. I laughed. I cried some more and laughed again. Then cried even harder. Till finally, I was just left with a surge of emotion that I can't quite describe, it left me in a state of awe and peacefulness. The Fault in Our Stars is a kind of book that I feel everyone should read....more
Since this book is not officially out yet, I'm going to try my best to keep this review spoiler free.
Like A Night to Surrender and A Week to Be Wicked, A Lady by Midnight is beautifully crafted with an intricate plot that just kept me wanting to get to the end because I just NEEDED to know what happens. At the same time, I wanted to try and pace myself. I wanted to absorb every moment and just feel all the feelings that Kate and Thorne's story invoked in me.
And what a story it was! A Lady by Midnight fully deserves my five star rating. If I were able, I would give it more. More stars because it was beyond 'amazing.' It was awe-inspiring, really.
For Kate and Thorne are characters that I simply admire and respect.
Kate is passionate, smart and beautiful. She has a strength and confidence to her, despite what life has dealt her. There's no messing with this heroine. This woman gives everything she's got, she stands her ground, knows how to get what she wants, and I love that she LOVES completely.
And Thorne, I just love him. Such a man, this hero. Gahh, I wish to go on and on about him but it would totally give him away. I considered doing just that, but I'm going to do the opposite and keep my lips sealed. More fun. So, please, read this book and find out about this mysterious hero. Okay, one thing (since you probably know this about him from the previous books), he doesn't say a whole lot, but when he does speak--MY, OH MY. And even if, it's all about action, yes? Speaks louder, right? ;)
As I was reading ALBM, I noticed that it did have a different tone/feel than the previous Spindle Cove books. (I haven't noticed it in other series, not really.) ANTS is more daring, AWTBW was dripping with humor and charm, and ALBM has passion down pat. It's nice to have such variety in a series to keep things fresh. I suppose it has a lot to do with the characters. Each are so very different and complex, complete with imperfections that make them achingly human.
I adore all the awkward moments and the little details that make the heroes, heroines and Spindle Cove seem so very real. How I wish it were.
I just wrote a major spoiler. I erased it. Don't worry. Hint: It was about Dinner and Francine. Didn't you just love them? Well, in this story--Oh, just read the book already!
Lastly, I think I should mention the fact that I teared up at the first sentence. Actually, tears were threatening to fall at the words 'Chapter One.' I admit, the anticipation got to me! XD I mean, to be able to delve back into the world that I couldn't and can't get enough of... Just. So. Much. Awesome.
Please note: I was fortunate to have been granted access to an e-arc of ALBM in Edelweiss by HarperCollins. The book's expected publication: August 28th 2012.
Please read it as soon as you get your hands on it! It's totally amazing!!
Sorry, one more thing, I think one could love this book as a standalone, but I SERIOUSLY recommend reading this series in order! GET ON IT, and ship the lovely ships! :D...more

This story, this amazing story took stories to a whole new level for me. Just tagging this... I was tempted to give it all the tags! It's a historical romance with a bit of action, a bit of mystery, a touch of paranormal. A great mix to make this story special.
I found myself holding my breath for paragraphs, maybe even pages. It's sooo good! XD This book is a serious triple threat. Kick-ass characters. A plot with so many twists and turns, it took my breath away. And the way it's written, my gosh! I'm in love with how scenes lifted off the pages. And the dialogue had my insides all a flutter. The banter, the barbs, the sparring! LOL
Miranda and Archer are just so damn perfect. I could cry at the thought of them together.
I can't even... I want to say so much more but I don't want to spoil it. This story I think is best kept as a surprise. The thrills. The secrets. The adventure. The journey. All these elements just waiting to be explored, experienced.
I felt breathless. My heart still aches!
Miranda has become one of my all time favorite heroines. She's witty, smart... ugh, she's just a heroine of heroines.
Archer, the hero, I can't believe how many times I fell in love with this character. OMG, if he were real? The things I would do to this man. Sexy and so mysterious. So wonderfully good! And that just sums up my thoughts of him from the prologue!
And Miranda and Archer together? They are one of my favorite couples EVER, and totally meant to be XD
It was refreshing to read a love story like theirs, a love that is solid and unwavering. Their love is magic and scorching hot!
(ETA: Bought and read this book after having won Moonlight (the second book in the series). And what a win it was, for it introduced me to what I think has become one of my all time favorites! Thank you for the first-reads! Will read and review the second story soon!)...more

Actually, I found myself far more invested in learning how the characters were introduced after having already getting a feel for them.
The characters are witty, lovable and so very real! This book, Simply Irresistible, touched close to home as I really felt like I could identify with Maddie. (And that has never happened before!) Maddie, the mediator, the middle child, oh, my heart reached out to her.
I love Jill Shalvis' characters. They all have layers. They're complex, and undeniably flawed. Their lives are not always pretty or easy, actually, it's downright heartbreaking at times. Seriously, I felt like these characters are REAL, like they are my best friends. People I want to hold and comfort and reach out to. Especially, Jax (hehehe), the hero of Simply Irresistible ;) Just... can I hold him now?
While reading this book, I found myself laughing and in tears. All sorts of feelings were happening. Sometimes I didn't even know why. It could have been a line that probably wasn't even meant to instill any emotion and yet, somehow, I found myself gutted. And it felt so good. Sooo good. Shaking with bubbly beautiful feelings kind of good. Difficult to explain, but imagine a teddy bear hugging you from the inside. Yeah. XD
Would definitely recommend to anyone--EVERYONE.
Can't wait to see what else is in store for these wonderful characters. Since I read book two already, up next is Head Over Heels. :) Chloe!!!...more
