I started liking Grayson and Jewel but towards the middle I just kept sighing and rolling my eyes. Did they really had to bring up Grayson's millions of lovers and the fact that he liked sex? Geesh, it was like you read about their survival and suddenly the author randomly mentions his past sex life. Ugh. I didn't really understand the ending. Jewel defeats the bad guy and he just leaves her. . . Just like that? No tears or heart wrenching moments or even a believable internal fight about whether to leave or not, he just walks into the mirror and leaves her because??? Yeah, I don't get it. And then the ending where Jewel suddenly appears after two weeks of seperation and they are suddenly happy to be together and no need of specified explanation of anything just made me gag. Fake and totally something the author did to quickly end the book. I loved the storyline of this book as it was an original but it seem like Gena didn't know how to proceed with it. A shame....more
Just finish the book and was laughing my butt off for quite a while.
I mean, come'on, SBC Fighters and time travel? Who cannot get a kick out of this bJust finish the book and was laughing my butt off for quite a while.
I mean, come'on, SBC Fighters and time travel? Who cannot get a kick out of this book??! I know I darn well did.
I read the first few books on the SBC series then I came upon this book and find out there's suddenly time travel involved? Talk about pulling the rabbit out of the magic hat. I had to re-read the beginning just to make sure I was reading Lori Foster's My Man Michael because it felt like I was read some science/fantasy book and also, I was laughing too hard to understand anything I was reading.
Foster just threw in time travel so I guess a lot of people are shock and/or angry to find that kind of thing in her SBC seires, heck I knew I was shock. The storyline didn't go well with the rest of the other SBC seires and it kinda flop around the middle to a certain degree.
IMO, I think Foster should had stay with just contemporary and write about her fantasy & time travel in another series.
However, after I got over my initial shock I admit that I did enjoy this book even through the craziness and virgin hunts and kidnapping and LOL moments. The chemistry between the characters is smoking hot and it's enjoyable when you have nothing to do but watch rain pour down on your window. ...more
