Heytow K9YA Memorial Radio Club.
I really enjoyed the style cues of language use and vocabulary of 134 years ago. The story is Americana at its best with a few neat twists.
If one would substitute IRLC or Texting, or email or Skype for the telegraph, there are situations and personality impacts of technology Author Thayer observed all those generations ago.
A fun time capsule from a past time, arguably a time that was the start of our "connected society."(less)

When walking the lands around Corinium (Cirencester), Mancunium (Manchester), the Penines, the Marshes, Chester & Surrounds, one couldn't help but to imagine the times & peoples of these ages.
As a hint to readers, there is a glossary of places at the end of the book that can help you cypher out any old name of a location taht might not be familiar.

Initial pages didn't set well with me, and I gave my read 20-25 pages as a litmus test. It was well worth the investment.

Woven in contemporary and ancient times, two casts of the brave more towards their destinies.
The philosophical reflections shared from the ancient times, and from time guiding even those times from further back in time, touch upon the bravery of the contemporary.

Unfortunately the first sections are seriously hard to put into any sort of pattern and a few plot elements seem to appear from nowhere.
Once rolling the characters and the main plot are well developed, and it becomes a page-turner.
Some seriously thought provoking twists to the plot.
A strong re-edit by a first rate editor would change this novel from an interesting self-published stab at an interesting mix of who dunit & science into a tier one novel. What the book has has as raw material & potential is lost in the jumbles & juxtapositions that only make sense to someone who already knows the plot.
Updated - have learned reviews are read, and some updating is going on to touch up the edits and stage-setting. This will let the promise shown shine much brighter.

Exploring that post survival normalcy is the second part of the theme.
Good read - a bit lighter tones that "Shut Down" or "Buck" yet a fun read.

An interesting read that seems to change genre as you go along.
