I agree with Jerry that this is an amazing book cover, it says so much. "The Last Operative" is a novel that keeps you going from page to page and chapter to chapter. It is one of those long lasting adventures where when you think something big and full of adrenaline just happened and that you and recuperate, something even bigger happens. To me at first the book ends abruptly, but in retrospect looking at it, it fits right in. Because if you blink, something else is going to happen!
Knowing that "The Last Operative" is a retelling of Jerry's first standalone novel is hard to fully grasp, because this book is so literal and set with today's political avenues, but then I guess history does repeat itself.
Jordan Kirkwood is a great character, if you know me at you, you probably know that I have a very fond love of the television show and books "Alias" and many other things espionage. Jordan is an NSA (National Security Agency) CIA-like (Central Intelligence Agency) operative and currently one of a kind. He is in for quite the unexpected adventure even in his line of work and his future and past as well as his faith are all at stake. Jump on in and enjoy the story, but be prepared to put a little time aside to read the whole thing, because you won't want to stop.

I read this with half smiles half tears in my eyes while holding my sleeping five month old daughter. I cannot image the range of emotions that Tracy and her family had to endure. During the first half of my pregnancy I was told that there was a large chance of a chromosomal abnormality only to be told later that was a mistake and a misread ultrasound. I spent the last third of my pregnancy with gestational diabetes and being told that a million things could be wrong with my baby because of that. I was so scared and stressed but calm knowing that no matter what it would work out in some way in the end for the better of everyone involved. And it did. I now have a beautiful and perfect little girl and I am much more cautious about what she will eat as a young child and the ideas of better portion ratios of protein to sugars for absorption to help her grow up and live healthier than I ever knew how. I recommend this read. It will make you treasure what you have and see the good even in the darkest of grey areas. ...more

I have been anticipating this book as C.J. Darlington is such a great influence in the online book blogging and publication world. I was not disappointed. Especially as I am not a contemporary Christian fiction fan and yet I enjoyed this one and will definitely pick up future titles from C.J. Full of suspense and easily a page turner, this one goes on the keeper shelf.

I must confess, as I think many book bloggers secretly has a deep desire to one day write a book of their own. This book is divided into perfect chapters that really have the best advice on writing inspiration fiction from authors with writing that I know and trust. From the initial idea of plot all the way into the issues of marketing this book really contains the best introduction for wanna-bees like me as well as those who are already started well into the process. I'm sure this is a book I'll return to time after time. The best part about it all in my opinion is through out all of the processes they keep the most important focus on how God fits in it and that just makes me smile to have such a great resource. I highly recommend this great tool. ...more

I discovered that this novel is the third in a series but also connected to a Christmas novella and a second series as well bringing characters together and I love things like that. Even though I not read the other books in the series I was more than able to appreciate the characters and believe that I would like to read more about them in the other books related.
Being regency with all the etiquette and silly banter this story is fully of wit. Romantic and comical each page will present the reader with smiles. There is also a good touching on issues and causes of things such as child labor, mill revolts, long hours, as well as places for a person to improve. Using womanly whiles for the purpose of stumping men and exiting the acquaintance without a second thought. Learning to grow and find true forgiveness for a variety of past sins are woven through out and the message is not overly preachy yet important to experience.
The Courteous Cad is indeed a courteous man in the end. Both titles he earns and though the story is reflected on him, you can see learning and redeeming qualities in more character than one. I recommend this novel and must find some more. ...more

I mean fiveAs a fan of author Francine Rivers best selling novel Redeeming Love I was excited to learn that she was coming out with a new long book. I mean five hundred pages long. It is not often that you can find good epic novels these days and I was eager for this first book in a two book series. In reading Her Mother's Hope I was not disappointed. Very thought provoking it makes me consider my own actions in raising my daughter as well as to look back on experiences of my own childhood and memories of my mother while I was younger. Mis-communication is a powerful thing that often does not get resolved and on the off chance that things can be put to right opportunities are invaluable.
The note from the author at the end of this book tells you that this book was a journey of her own in an attempt to understand a misunderstanding between her mother and grandmother. It is fascinating to see history intertwined into the pages of fiction and bring the characters to life. Even though this is her family story brought to view, it is easy to see bits and pieces of other lives in the characters. I find this book to be very educational and eye opening. You never seem to realize how when you try so hard to do one thing you might be accomplishing another.
Full of emotions all over the spectrum Her Mother's Hope is a book that you will want to make time for as it will be hard to put down. I recommend the story, I look forward to sharing it with my mother and I am eager for the second book in the two-book series "Her Daughter's Dream".
