As Jesse and LuAnne grow closer, Bud laments the growing distance between he and his best friend. When LuAnne sees Bud for the first time, she is immediately attracted to him even though she is with Jesse. When she recognizes lust in Bud's eyes when he is looking at Jesse, LuAnne is convinced that she must get both men in her bed. When Jesse offers her anything she wants for her birthday, LuAnne sees it as the perfect opportunity to make her fantasy to have two men at once come true.
Jesse's Girl is an interesting story about love and discovering new possibilities within a friendship. Bud has been longing for Jesse, and the offer to be with him and LuAnne is like dangling what he wants so much in front of him but keeping it just out of reach. He agrees to the offer, and is determined to keep his emotions under wraps to hide his real feelings for Jesse. LuAnne of course plays an important role in this story but it is mostly about the attraction and relationship between Jesse and Bud. Together they find a way to challenge old prejudices and to let go of their fear.
This is a very short story at only 47 pages, but it is still a wonderful exploration of the strength of real friendship. I enjoyed the characters, especially Bud and his emotional struggle. It was exciting to see the man explore his feelings and the new options available to him. In particular, there was one section of the story that resonated with me. It speaks of how love is really an extension of friendship, providing a basis for the most intense emotions and the underlying theme of this enjoyable story.
"What was love but just a few more layers of friendship stacked together? And what was good sex but an effort to express feelings too deep and too intense for words?
It doesn't feel like I'm losing a friend anymore but gaining a new one and taking the old friendship to a new level."...more

He can instantly detect whenAden is clairvoyant, an ability which provides him with insight into a person’s true character and circumstances in life. He can instantly detect when a person is lying, and enjoys toying with people by convincing them he believes their lies. At the extreme, Aden’s ability sometimes allows him to see the shadow of Death lingering near a person as the end approaches. Unfortunately, all of these talents make Aden quite desirable to other beings, including powerful witches and demons.
This is an intense story which has packed a lot into only 29 pages. I felt the need to read it a few times in order to even begin to grasp all of the subtleties in the story. Dagon weaves back and forth between 3rd person and 1st person, from Aden’s meeting with a psychic Mercia, who he goes to for help, to his retelling of the events that have transpired. This helped draw me into Aden’s story, creating an emotional connection to the character while advancing the story.
The relationships between Aden and his friends Bliss and Nash are complex and intriguing. Their indulgence in all that their life of partying has to offer cannot completely overshadow the love that exists between them. Bliss and Nash are made for one another, and Aden loves them both dearly which ultimately makes his friends a target of Reilly’s scheme.
Overall, this is a story of how perceptions can mask reality and how things are not always as they appear. The final scene is unexpected and a compelling and thought provoking ending to this multifaceted story....more

He is convinced that he has come up with the perfect plan to keep both himself and Jade happy. He can remain dedicated to the work he loves with no further risk of losing Jade.
Bobby, of course, is quite naive to think that he can have it all and that everyone will simply agree to his plan. Quentin has a very different idea about how the three of them will interact. Bobby is so focused on what he thinks will be the perfect answer for Jade that he completely misinterprets what she really needs and desires.
Deep Obsessions is an exploration of how the connection between two people can be affected by the addition of another, often in unexpected ways. With the help of Quentin, Bobby’s eyes are opened to what Jade truly craves as well as the extent of his own sexual desires. This story is a sexual roller coaster, riding swiftly from one erotic scene to the next. The open nature with which the characters approach their sexuality is refreshing and stimulating. I wish that a little more time was spent on the emotional side of the story ~ both the journey that Bobby embarks on as well as the connection that develops between Jade and Quentin. Overall, this is definitely a hot read not to be missed!...more

When Dick comes home from the gym he has one purpose in mind. To prove that Rig and Rock belong to him, just as much as he belongs to them. D3.5 stars
When Dick comes home from the gym he has one purpose in mind. To prove that Rig and Rock belong to him, just as much as he belongs to them. Dick is tired of hearing the guys at the gym talk about "Rig and Rock" or "Rock and Rig", completely ignoring that he is an integral part of their lives. Thankfully, Dick doesn't hesitate to show his men what they mean to him, and the guys reciprocate with just as much fervor.
Possessor and Possessed is another addition to the Jarheads series and fans of Rock, Rig and Dick will know this means sex. Steamy sex. Lots of it. This story is the combination of two scenes between the lovers and it is the first scene that I was really drawn to. I always expect a lot of sex when reading anything involving these guys, but what I hope for it an interesting plot point as well. Even though this is a short story there is definitely a fresh plot point thrown into the mix with the guys and it was refreshing. In this case we are seeing that being the third in a threesome isn't always easy for Dick, and the guys prove to him in the best of ways that they all belong together. The only thing I regret is that Michael didn't take the chance to delve a bit deeper into this idea, and give a bit more about how Dick handles being dismissed by others.
In all Jarheads stories, Rig is open about his feelings for Dick, his "Pretty", but what really surprised me was the length to which Rock was willing to go to show Dick that they belong to one another just as much as he and Rig or Rig and Dick do. It is a touching side of Rock that we rarely get to see, one I wish was more a part of Jarheads stories.
This quick read was a fun and refreshing look at three familiar characters. Fans of the Jarheads series will enjoy revisiting Rock, Rig and Dick while readers new to the series will find this a small bite to whet the appetite for more....more
