All of the stories are erotic and sexy though a couple weren't my kind of story. The rest of the book made up for it! Every reader will have different stories that speak to them and stand out for. The others. The best thing about a collection like this is after reading all the stories I know exact which ones I'll go back and retread over and over again....more

Andy Baxter is his best buddy and for six years has been his traveling partner. Although Bax is three years older than Jason, nicknamed Mini by Bax due to his short stature, they look out for one another and know each other better than they know themselves. The one thing that neither one knows is that they each foster a deep attraction for the other, and sharing rooms and spending all of their time together is getting harder and harder. They would do anything for one another, and they are both too afraid of damaging or ruining the friendship beyond repair to admit their feelings. Everything changes in both their worlds when Jason gets hurt.
“About that time, Jason spun, feet blown right out from under him, head connecting with horn with a thwack the whole arena could hear almost as well as the thud as Jason hit the ground, right under those hooves.”
Jason is left without sight, trapped in a world of darkness. Although Jason’s eyes are not damaged, the blow to his head led to swelling and as a result his brain cannot process the images. However, while he is dreaming Jason’s subconscious is able to take over and process some of the images, a twist of fate which is almost cruel. No matter how hard he tries, he cannot see Bax and can’t imagine living the rest of his life without seeing the man’s face while awake.
When Bax learns that Jason is feeling sorry for himself and is ready to end it all, Bax knows that something drastic needs to be done. The men are finally able to admit their feelings for each other, and their relationship deepens with each day, but Jason still needs a reason to live. His whole life was dedicated to being the best bull rider possible, and without that he has no purpose in his life. Bax and all their friends hatch a plan to help Jason deal with his new blindness and learn to ride again.
Blind Ride ~ Season One is a captivating book about love and courage among bull riders. Jason and Bax are engaging characters and both their friendship and partnership are filled with emotion and dedication. The two men are fiercely loyal to one another, and this translates to an unwavering love and both erotic and romantic sex scenes. The sex starts out slow and quickly gains momentum as they learn about each other in a new way. When Jason is blind and Bax has a cast on this leg, they immediately compensate for one another. Bax uses his eyes to describe things to Jason to help him “see,” and Jason provides the support Bax needs to walk and move around. They complement each other is a way that is touching and heart-warming.
All of the men in this story are bull riders and bull fighters in every sense of the word ~ in the way they walk, talk, dress, act ~ and it influences their relationships. The story is filled with exceptional secondary characters, ones that are close to Jason and Bax and ones that are happy to see them gone. This is the first story in the Roughstock series and the next books are sure to be as engaging as this one. The ending of Blind Ride is not a perfectly wrapped happily ever after, but it is the start of a new beginning. As we learn about the other characters in this world, we will get to check in with Jason and Bax as they continue to work toward the ultimate goal of getting Jason riding in competition again.
Overall, Blind Ride is a wonderful beginning to a new series that is both enjoyable and all-consuming from the start. I highly recommend this book if you enjoy reading about tough guys who like to ride on the back of a crazed bull or fight the enraged bull to make sure it doesn’t hurt the cowboy once the ride is done. You won’t be disappointed!...more
Coke Pharris is devastated when Jason Scott is hurt, and the fact that he couldn’t get to Jason fast enough, that he wasn’t there to save him when thiCoke Pharris is devastated when Jason Scott is hurt, and the fact that he couldn’t get to Jason fast enough, that he wasn’t there to save him when things went terribly wrong with his last bull ride, haunts Coke to no end. Coke feels responsible for everyone around him, not only the bull riders but his fellow bull fighters. Especially the arena entertainer, or clown, Dillon Walsh. Coke watches Dillon as he entertains the crowd, as he shakes his tight, beautiful ass. After over twenty years on the job, Coke feels old and damaged but he can’t stop his deep yearning and desire for Dillon.
Dillon knows Coke pretty well from both working with the man and watching him every chance he gets. Dillon is seriously attracted to the bull fighter, but doesn’t want to damage their friendship so he stays quiet. He wants to be closer to Coke, and constantly lusts after the man that so many others see as a father figure of sorts. As Dillon starts to drop hints here and there, he discovers that the attraction is mutual and it sets off a pairing that is energetic and overwhelming. The men spend time together, getting to know one another, and their relationship quickly deepens. That is, until the dangers of their jobs set off a chain of events that could lead to their eventual breakup.
And a Smile ~ Season One is a wonderful story about love and friendship. Coke and Dillon are dynamic together and are enjoyable to spend time with. The story starts out like being shot out of a canon and the sex is intense and full of energy from the very beginning. Coke was a favorite character of mine in Blind Ride and it is exciting to learn more of his story. It is fascinating to watch how Dillon relates to Coke, how the two fit together so perfectly.
This is the second book in the Roughstock series. Although this is very much Coke and Dillon’s story, it also serves to continue the story of Jason and Bax. There is a bit of overlap between the stories, and we get to see pieces of Blind Ride from Coke’s point of view. All of the men that are dedicated to helping Jason, including both Coke and Dillon, have to find a way to work with Jason and get him ready for the next steps. In particular, I loved watching Dillon work with Jason. He admires Jason immensely but isn’t as close to him as Coke and Bax are which allows him to help push Jason to become more independent when the men close to him want simply to help instead of watching Jason struggle.
The other aspect of And a Smile that I found so interesting is that it is told from the perspective of the bull fighters and arena entertainer. So often these stories are told strictly from a bull rider’s standpoint. The bull fighters are just as intimately involved yet don’t get the same glory as the riders do and it is wonderful to spend time with them.
Overall, And a Smile is another excellent addition to what is turning out to be a wonderfully intriguing series. Although this story can most definitely stand on its own, I highly recommend reading Blind Ride first in order to fully understand what Jason and Bax are dealing with and why it affects Coke so deeply. Definitely spend some time with these bull fighters ~ you won’t be disappointed!...more

Is it through words or actions? When have you tried long, and hard, enough to make a relationship work? What makes you decide that you need, and deserve, something more?
These are all questions plaguing Marcus, the main character of Cowboy. For two years, he has been living and working alongside Kent. They sleep in separate bedrooms and have infrequent sex, at the mercy of whatever alcohol Kent has most recently imbibed. Marcus has convinced himself that he is happy with his life, grasping at any hint of affection or intimacy from Kent.
When Luke enters his life, Marcus begins to question everything he knows. The boy is so open with his feelings and desires, and thrives on physical contact of any kind. Luke is the antithesis of Kent in just about every way possible. He is everything that Kent isn’t, and everything that Marcus desires.
As Marcus’ feelings for Luke intensify, he is torn between the two men. Does he stay with Kent, the man he has cared for and loved for so long, that is everything he thought he wanted, or does he leave with Luke to a future that is full of unknowns?
This is not your typical cowboy story and it is a commanding analysis of what it means to be loved. Snyder has created a gut-wrenching portrayal of a man struggling to choose between two men. This is no easy decision for Marcus. He fights feelings of inadequacy, failure, regret, and lost hope in his desire to make the "right" decision. He doesn’t want to hurt either man, but in the end he can only be with one of them.
Snyder’s descriptions of Marcus’ struggle are powerful and intense, capturing with words the anguish and deep emotions which are engulfing him. Some of my favorite passages, which relate so much with so few words, are:
“I’m caught in the middle, because despite the way I feel for one, I can’t help but want the other.”
“I love who I think he could be, and that’s not something I’m ready to throw away just yet.”
“He just doesn’t see me, he can’t, he won’t…”
I was captured by Marcus from the beginning and I was on edge about what would happen until the very end. It was so easy to identify with the character, whose heart and soul are spilled across every page. At the same time, I was drawn to both Kent and Luke, never completely sure who was the right person for Marcus to be with.
Cowboy is very different from many of Snyder’s others stories. It focuses on a painful emotional journey, which results in a gripping story that should not be missed. If you are a fan of Snyder’s work, be sure to read this story to fully realize the range of her talent....more

Robbie is dressed as a vampire but has no idea what Seth's costume will be. When he sees Seth for the first time, every thought leaves his brain and his blood rushes due south. Seth has a plan for Robbie, who has no choice but to follow orders. Over the evening Robbie is treated to some special treatment, and finds there are still things he has to learn about Seth.
We were first introduced to Robbie and Seth in Going Home and their story continued in the Hearth and Home Chaser series. This is another glimpse at two of my absolute favorites of all Mychael's characters, and damn. DAMN! This story is, in a word, fucking hot! Okay, that's two words. Don't mind me, my brain is still a little smooshy after reading the hotness that is this story. It is a perfect example of why I love these boys so very much and why I have reread their story multiple times already.
There is electricity between Robbie and Seth every time they are together and it translates beautifully in all their stories, especially this one. The attraction between them is palpable, but even more than that, the love they share is overwhelming. The sex is intensely erotic, but what affects me even more is the deep love and trust that exists between them. Robbie feels completely secure and safe with Seth and knows his partner would never do anything to hurt him. He can give himself completely to Seth with no hesitation, and the result is truly beautiful. These are exceptional characters that have go through so much together, and their relationship continues to strengthen and evolve. I hope Mychael will continue to share more of their story with us in the future!
One final reason I love this story so much is that we get a glimpse of several other characters that belong to this world, namely Rogue. Just the mention of Rogue leaves me all tingly and I am most definitely looking forward to his story!
