I kept having flash backs of Mad Max which made me appreciate Adam's journey even more. He's one fierce character and it was always an adventure, filled with action and danger where he was concerned. I fell completely in love with the world that David created.
I couldn't imagine being in Adam's shoes and it's no wonder he did everything in his power to escape Blackwater. Seeing life through his eyes was downright fascinating and I felt like I was on a never-ending roller coaster with non-stop action. I can't forget to mention Sadie and Kane and how I enjoyed delving more and more into their characterizations as the story progressed.
I was completely caught off guard at how much I enjoyed this book. The time and pages just flew by as I gobbled up this story. I would without a doubt pick up the next book that this author publishes!...more

It was so unnerving at times that I couldn’t help but see how everything unfolded. Oh Lucy/Julia! There was something nagging at me as her story unfolded. I just had a feeling about her and I had to follow through and sift through the bread crumbs.
Even though the twist was foreshadowed, the past/present narration was well written and kept my attention. This book had me rethinking my definition of a psychopath, especially with everything going on with mass shootings around the globe.
As a psychological thriller, Lucy’s unreliable narration definitely worked for the most part. However, I didn’t feel the connection with the secondary characters. Overall, Damage Done was a good read....more

II thought The Winner’s Curse knocked it out of the park but The Winner’s Crime takes the cake. This installment was filled with nail biting tension. I felt like I was watching a game of cat and mouse and could only hold my breath and hope that Kestra and Arin weren’t in over their heads.
The characters in this book are unforgettable. The things that they endured for what they believed in made me fall in love with them even more. Every interaction with Kestra and Arian had me on the edge of my seat. I could only wait to see how everything would play out. And boy did it go in a direction that I could have never imagined!
Oh what a tangled web we weave...I can't wait to see how the next book unfolds. Just brilliant!...more

This book was an unsuspected surprise. Anytime I read a book by an author that I’ve never read before, I have to get a feel for the writing style and the voice. I will say that it took me a chapter or two to really get into the story but once I got the hang of it, I did not let go. I fell in love with the imagery which was magical in itself. I could see the world that Renee created perfectly. It was so mesmerizing and I enjoyed every detail.
I can’t say enough about the characters – they embody what I love in fantasy. Kazi is fierce and I loved that she could hold her own. I fell in love with Khalid through Kazi - these two are perfect for each other. You know what I can’t wait for? I can’t wait to see what happens with the other characters in this book like Tariq – he’s intriguing and a force within his own right.
I love when books in this genre have kick-ass action and I feel like I got a small taste and it left me wanting more. I‘m hopeful that there will be more sword-wielding action in the next book. I’m just ready for a major showdown to see whose left standing when the dust settles. ...more

The premise of this book is what really made me want to read it. I’m a big lover of crime/mob stories - especially the ones that make you cringe and keep you in suspense of how the characters will fare in the end. Hold Me Like a Breath had plenty of grit to go around.
Penelope is such a unique character and I loved watching her transformation from being a fragile caged butterfly to finally standing up for herself and living her life the way she’s always dreamed of. She was shielded from her illegal family business dealings because of her condition and because of their illegal transplant business, there was always another family trying to take over and nothing was ever considered safe. So when tragedy strikes, Pen has to decide who to trust even as she navigates the streets on her own for the very first time. Always dependent upon her family and Garrett, her crush and also childhood friend, Pen doesn’t know where to turn then enters Charlie, the gorgeous newcomer with secrets of his own. Pen’s finally able to feel normal with Char by her side even though danger still hovers nearby. I loved how fierce Garrett and Char were when it came to Pen’s safety. With lies and secrets clouding her every move, it was nice to see Pen’s determination to live her life even while she dealt with tragedy and the constant danger that she was in.
I felt this book was more about Pen’s journey and how she coped with everything that happened within the confines of the family business. So I’m curious as to what will happen next as Pen ventures into the next phase of her life. Hopefully, we’ll get more danger and action as other crime families fight for power. ...more

I didn’t just take it, I gobbled it up! In my opinion it was spot on. This book reminded me why I fell in love with the aforementioned books as I tore through the pages of this magical tale.
The characters are unique in their own right and that’s what I loved most about The Girl at Midnight. Here you have two ancient species at war and a human caught smack-dab in the middle. And she’s not some timid mortal, Echo is kick-ass - just the way I love my heroines. This book is full of witty dialogue and glorious male specimens. The world building is spectacular and full of intrigue. I couldn’t get enough of it!
Every doorway led to a new adventure for Echo and I was right there alongside her as she maneuvered her way into the unknown. This book is a great start to an exciting new series and I believe fans of Sara J. Maas’s Throne of Glass and Laini Taylor’s Daughter of Smoke and Bone will enjoy this book too!...more

Tahir created a world full of political intrigue, sword-wielding action, and a cast of unforgettable characters. This is one of those books that whispers tantalizing words like - ‘one more chapter, just one more chapter’ – just be prepared for some sleepless nights. I was loathe to put this book down but in the end, sleep won the battle.
Told from alternating POVs, I was taken on a mind-boggling journey where danger lurked at every turn and every word or action could be used against you. This book is bloody fabulous – literally. I love how gritty the world that Tahir has built is. There’s always some unforeseen threat and when it happens, you’re pulled into the story even more. I felt for these characters – the things they had to go through were unfathomable.
This is one of those books that will stick with you. I didn’t want it to end and I just know there will be a follow up. I would encourage anyone to give this book a try. Hopefully, you’ll be just as enthralled as I was....more

The buzz for this book flapped around my ears constantly urging me to take notice. Well, it snagged my attention and that was all she wrote. I was glued to the pages of this spellbinding adventure and thought of every excuse to get out of daily duties just to live in the beautifully complex world that Aveyard created.
The characters were outstanding and the plot wickedly twisted with its treachery. Oh how I love Mare! She is what I love, love in heroines. She’s fierce and I was constantly delighted to be inside her head as she navigated her way through a host of danger. The clues were there but like Mare, I didn’t know who to trust. Aveyard did an excellent job keeping me guessing.
This book had everything – action, danger, romance, and an unforgettable host of characters. A rollercoaster ride with twists and turns, this book is a nonstop page turner. I can't wait for the next ride! This book is a must read! ...more
