Stone Cold Cowboy was an emotionally charged romance with strong characters and a well-written story line that will keep you on the edge of your seat. In this book, Sadie has always been trying to keep her little brother out of trouble even when he is doing a pretty good job of making his own messes. When he steals a bunch of Rory Kendrick’s cattle, she tries to stop him but ends up assaulted by the people that her brother is involved with.
Rory is bound and determined to find the people that have been stealing his cattle but never imagined to find Sadie injured and close to death in his search. He knows that Sadie’s brother was involved and doesn’t want Sadie to take the blame for what has happened. As he helps her heal from her wounds, he slowly falls in love with this young woman that feels as though she has the weight of the world on her shoulders and will do anything to protect her. I fell in love with Rory just like Sadie did and I loved how he did everything to prevent her from taking the blame for her brother’s actions.
These two characters were perfect for one another and I wished that they had gotten together before what happened to Sadie. She needed someone strong like Rory in her life and he needed someone to help bring out his softer side which very few people got to see. I love their story together and I enjoyed every minute I got to spend with these characters.
This is the fourth book in the Montana Men series and I’m always amazed at how Ms. Ryan can create characters that will captivate you and heroes that will steal your heart. Ms. Ryan is such a talented writer and if you haven’t read one of her books, you are definitely missing out. I’m a fan for life and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series....more
For me, Cecy Robson has become a master storyteller of romances and her characters will stay with you long after you finish reading the last page. LetFor me, Cecy Robson has become a master storyteller of romances and her characters will stay with you long after you finish reading the last page. Let Me is a beautifully written story of two people who have had their lives touched by trauma and heartache and are able to find love in each other’s arms. Sol Marieles is working hard to finish her Master’s Degree in Psychology while dealing with a difficult family situation because she believes that she has the power to heal the ones that she loves the most. Finn O’Brien is rising up in the ranks of the MMA world but is hiding a secret that has been haunting him most of his life and Sol may be his key to a brighter future. Will these two be able to find their happy ending or will their past be destined to destroy their future?
I can’t tell you how much these characters touched my heart as a reader. Sol and Finn were meant for each other and were able to understand the pain that the other person was going through. Sol was such a sweet, caring character who just had the weight of her family situation on her shoulders. It was the driving force behind getting her master’s because she felt that she needed to help others heal from their trauma and her compassion brought me to tears. Finn hid behind this tough, cocky mask that he presented to everyone but was just as vulnerable and broken inside as Sol was. Both these characters needed to find a place to heal and they were able to give each other what they needed to start that heart-wrenching journey together.
This is the second book in the O’Brien Family series and I know that each book that Ms. Robson puts out will be a winner. I love watching her creativity and talent grow with each story and I’m praying that I will get to read Wren’s story next. ...more
I absolutely loved this book from beginning to end and Abby is such an amazing character that I always look forward to spending time with her. In thisI absolutely loved this book from beginning to end and Abby is such an amazing character that I always look forward to spending time with her. In this book, Abby gets a phone call in the middle of the night from her best friend, Candice, saying “you have to trust me. It’s not how it looks.” From that point on, this story is a race against time for Abby to find out the truth when she discovers that Candice is seen on video surveillance footage shooting a man in cold blood in an airport parking lot.
There were so many clever plot twists and turns that will have you second guessing to who the killer is and why the victim was killed. Most of us have known and loved Candice from the very beginning and finding out that she could be a cold blooded killer shakes us to the core that someone we knew and trusted could have deceived us for so long. I understood Abby’s situation that her beloved friend was implicated in a murder and her having doubts that the person she loved like a sister could be capable of this kind of violence.
I loved watching Abby’s and Dutch’s relationship in Fatal Fortune as they settle down in their life as a married couple. As Abby was dealing with the stress of the investigation and subsequent manhunt for her friend, it was nice to see that having Dutch in her life helped her find that balance she needed. They have come so far in their relationship from the beginning of the series and you can see that their relationship just gets stronger and more loving as time goes on.
Fatal Fortune was a cleverly written mystery that will have you on the edge of your seat. Victoria Laurie is such a talented writer that has created such a delightful series that gets better with each novel that she writes. If you haven’t read any of her books, you should start with Abby Cooper: Psychic Eye to start from the beginning because this is one series that you should enjoy every moment of.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Review also appears on Books-n-Kisses.com...more
