Ward, and even though I liked it didn't hold much of a candle to book one in the series Covet. I will say that even though there were some spots for me that I forgot I was reading a J. R. Ward book that it still had the ability to surprise. I was in shock by the ending because I honestly never saw it coming. I hope I'm not being too harsh on the book, but I felt it rushed and that the time line for the HEA was very short and unbelievable to certain extent. Still its definitely in J. R. Ward style and that alone deserves a read. I must end this short review with a shout out to the company I work for, for getting mentioned in a book. (less)

Then decided that no; I would lose my just finished reading feelings on it. I love Jennifer Crusie by herself, I have deeply enjoyed everything that I have read by her so far, but I honestly feel that when Jennifer Crusie and Bob Mayer sit down together and write a book, that it's as if it was written by a pen tipped in gold. I guess their style just sets well with me. So I was greatly excited about this book because it had been a while since I had a book by them to read.
I wasn't expecting what I got though, and found it very hard at first to not compare it to the previous works of the Fantastic Duo (it's my name for them) but once I was able to get past the beginning strangeness and set aside my thoughts of how I thought it should be and wanted it to be. I fell in love with the story.
I was caught off guard by the main characters and liked that for a very large portion of the story you have no idea what's going to happen with them. I very much enjoyed Mab from the very beginning and Ethan grew on me as the story progressed. It's not that I didn't like his character because I did and found him very realistic and made me feel for him from the very beginning. He was just so gruff and the drinking even though I understood it may be kept him from being my favorite at first. All the secondary character as well was great to me. I think out of all of them I loved Oliver the most, then Mab, Ethan, and Weaver, and so on. There wasn't one character even the bad guys that I didn't like.
This was probably one of the funniest, even thought it had its moments where the story took a dark turn and was funny at all; books I have read this year. What with Mab's sarcastic remarks and Ethan's very little patience with women and their emotions. I truly found so many things great and enjoyable about this book. I hate that I went in not open minded about where the story would be taking me but am very grateful that I finally got my act together and found the greatness of this story. It will make you laugh, feel good, keep you on the edge of your seat, and leave you feeling very satisfied when you finish that last page.

It was filled with Action, adventure, tender moments, romance, and suspense all wrapped in a beautiful cover. The authors great gift of writing, will draw you in till the last moment and her characters will endear themselves to your heart for a long time to come. The strength of the heroine and the even the sister of the hero is inspiring and the vulnerability was sweet and a little unexpected. This will surly delight any and all types of romance readers. It was however still a very cute book in so many ways because I did feel happy after reading, but I just don't know if the cute was enough. The series in itself is farfetched in that you actually have 3 now 4 people so close to each other have these "Accidents" as they are called, but that's neither here nor there. Don't get me wrong I still enjoyed the book, but the Climax was well let's just say if it were sex, I would have had to fake it. By the end of the book I felt maybe I should have kept it at just reading the first 3 which was my first thoughts on it but then I kept running across the book and eventually had to read it. I liked it enough to say that if you are into this series and are looking for a book as a fun quick read and a time filler don't pass it up, because it defiantly had some steamy, ad in Dakota's style some ridiculously funny moments. Now I'm going to have to paces back and forth on whether or not I should read book 5. (less)

Mrs. Showalter has a gift that I believe is rare when it comes to writing in first person, of course I don't really care for first person stories which is why I feel she did such a great job. From the first book I knew Belle and liked her attitude, but in this book you saw her not only grow stronger in her powers but in herself. Also she kicks major tail in this book... I can't right a review without touching base on how wonderful Rome was; at first I was really scared, but like always he pulled through and stayed the man of my dreams. LOL! I loved that you saw true love at its best in this book. You get insight into other characters that you grew to love in the first book and see them grow and become who they wanted to be, which always makes me happy. I will end this with a note of how much I can't stand Lexis, no matter what she would do to redeem herself, in my eyes I don't think she could. (less)

Even though I didn't read the whole story there were things that I found great and would have loved to have seen expanded upon, and things I found not so great, which enviably had me not being able to finish it and just largely skimming through.
I will start with the great things I read that could have made a great story I feel if only expanded upon, or sadly to say maybe if a little bit more thought had been put into it.
- Dayna Sterling because her character was NOT that stupid over reacting female who made stupid decisions and put herself in danger because of some stupid idiotic logic.
- The world building was in my opinion well done(and probably the best part of the book) in the beginning, and I felt while reading it that it made sense and was explained easily and molded into the story without feeling overwhelming or that you would get lost in it.
- I loved the idea of being bonded and what it meant for him to be bonded, and the need for them both was instant and strong and neither one of them had to play the I don't know if he/she feels the same way game.
- I loved the fact that Dayna felt confident in her sexual prowess and that she knew she was seducing T.J. and that it worked without him smirking at her or embarrassing her, as you sometimes see in other books. Also her power that shocked them both also worked for me.
- The love scenes were greatly done and had the right amount of steam, but mostly the amazing detail of the bond they shared.
- Of Course I liked T.J. too, thought he was great Alpha Male and Hero, and who wouldn't love it when a man's power goes on the fritz when his woman is around.
Now for the not so great things that led me to not finish this book in its entirety, that I felt were either nerve grating or maybe the pace was just too slow for me.
- If I read the word witch once, I read it 1,000 times in multiple forms. Such as: Witch, Witchy, Witchstory, Witchfolk, Witchmade, and I am sure there are more but really I think we get it. The story is about witches.
- Then there was the word Magic and is multiple forms, which was used to explain everything seemingly unexplainable in book about Witches. Or wait was it suppose to be MAJIK?
- I also hated that everytime something MAGIC/MAJIK happened Dayna was always surprised, shocked, or agog with disbelief that Magic/Majik would/could actually happen around Witches and Warlocks.
- I also didn't like that Dayna didn't know who she was and that she didn't find out until the near end of the book. With that said it kind of irked me how she all of a sudden and her powers full force when she found out. Like just because she had a super title she believed in herself.
The ending was lack luster and although I am happy they ended up together I felt the whole event they were leading up to should have somehow been bigger, and more important feeling. I feel as if it was just put there to close out that story line and that it wasn't every really as important as the love story. (less)

I want to start off by saying that I normally really hate reading anything that is in first person, but I loved the Belle the heroine so much that there was no way in the world I could hate this book. Belle was such a Smart A@@ and I found her way of thinking and restlessness with herself and her life relate able I found myself laughing out loud on so may different occasions just because of her mouth and that she had a hard time with her temper. Rome was totally exciting with his sexy alpha I tell you what to do baby attitude, which I normally hate as well but he seemed not so much over the top crazy about but just enough to turn on any woman. Tanner was so funny and the banter between him and Belle and even Rome was priceless. I wasn't sure what to think of the ex wife but she grew on me as well and hey Go Tanner!!! This was very cute, fast passed, and seriously Hot book and can't wait for the Next one. (less)

I don't think I have ever read a book where I wanted so badly for the main Hero to be an ugly little dwarf. Yet, in this book I so did, don't get me wrong I liked Darius in his true form and when I first started reading the book my mind set was okay he is going to become beautiful and its going to great, but the more I read the more I couldn't get past how so wonderfully cute this ugly little man was and how sweetly vulnerable (even though I know it was Darius Ugly or not who actually felt this way)this ugly little body made him. I loved how beautiful Ariel found his eyes and how she she fell in love with him for him. I did like Arial however wasn't so sure at first, if she were the right one for Dar. oh but so was. Ariels ability to just see things as they were was big reason I liked her. yeah sure she was in the dark about a lot things but she still was so very self assured or her feelings once she figured them out. I don't like to talk about the Fates they bother me but I do love what they did for Dar and Ariel. Now for the reason that I could not give this book a 5 start based on him alone, is because one my biggest complaint its just so PG! However, it didn't bother me as much in this book as the other two did. I also still find it very Hard to like Blackstone, and everything in the ending went way to fast for men and felt the explanation of things could have been better and to be completely honest I'm sad that Andrew Vari is well kinda of no longer. I was made that Darius went back to him true form. (less)

So many words that I want to attach to this book but then, none of those words would really do it justice. John Matthew and Xhex were a favorite for me, I thought I knew how the story was going to go, how it would play out, but I was wrong, what the wonderful warden gave us was such a welcome perfect surprise. The story of Xhex and JM flowed for me like a perfect stream of nothing but pain filling , and then heartwarming word that created the most beautiful love story out of all the books. I don't think it could have been anymore perfect for them. As much as I was excited about JM and Xhex I was equally if not a tad bit more excited about Quinn and Blay's story. My heart broke for them both, the tug and pulls of real love and the fear the real honest to god fear of holding that love and stepping out for that love, is a hard thing to do, even without the screwed up history on Quinn's part. I wanted to so much to just hold them both and tell them this will be right, but your heart suffers right along with them till then. I loved Payne from the moment she was introduced and what I thought about her was all wrong too, she has a beautiful heart and I wasn't expecting that. I choked up, held my breath, and literally couldn't wait to see her and V meet. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding when they finally did. I was also very happy to see Thor in this book and see him interact with JM, but he broke my heart as well. There were so many things that came as a shock which with true warder style made the book that much more amazing. There were certain things I didn't understand till it got to the end and as much as I loved this book, I did feel I was missing something, but I can't for the life of me figure out what it is. (less)
