I don't want to give anything away, so I am trying my best to cryptically explain my views on this book.
This book was fascinating for me because not only was the plot edgy and dark, the actual love story between Chloe and Bastian was just as dark and edgy. The HEA was a little twisted and raw, you kind of felt like it were more real because there weren't too many if any sweet moments yet you felt it. You felt the emotions vibrating off the page.
I will admit at first I hated Bastian because I thought he was a pig and just cruel, but once you start learning his back story and seeing him through Chloe's eyes you start looking at him differently. By the end of the book I wasn't in love with him but I trusted with him with her. I know it sounds silly because it's just a book, but that is what makes a great story.
I also liked how Anne Stuart didn't sugar coat the scary stuff, that she allowed it to happen and because it did, it proved Chloe's strength which helped the HEA because it made it that much more real and easy to believe. I liked Chloe's character a lot because she was fragile enough to fall apart but strong enough to keep going.
I would definitely suggest this book to others and look forward to reading the next in this series. (less)

However change isn't always what you need. This was very cute read, the writing was a bit odd but still enjoyable. The authors dry wit and subtle humor was what really reeled me in. I would recommend this book to anyone, who loves a happy ending with a great journey before it. (less)

I really enjoyed this book it was much more about the suspense than the romance but I still felt it there very clearly. I love how Mrs. Garwood writes her characters but what I love most about them is the dialog between everyone single one of them not just the main characters. You instantly get this feeling of knowing exactly what that person is about without having to have a long background written out about them. I loved seeing into John Paul he had such a huge presence when he showed up in Mercy even thought his part was small. Avery Delaney was amazing to me, she had gone through so much in her life and still she turned out good and warm hearted. I loved the strength in her character even though she as very visibly vulnerable. My only qualms with the book were how long it took to get to John Paul and Avery, and that I wasn't a big fan of Carolyn, I didn't hate her and after a while she grew on me a little but not a whole lot, this was the first good character in her series that didn't sit well with me. The last issue I had was how nicely with a bow it ended for Monk and Jilly. This is still high up there for recommendation though and I can't wait to jump into the book 4 Murder List.(less)

This series just keeps getting better for me. I loved the chemistry between the main characters, and how Strong Tyler was. The only thing that broke my heart was the ending and who it came down to as the villain. Even though I know it had to work the way it did and it made for one amazing story.
This was a steamy, heart pumping thrill ride that will leave you wanting more. (less)

One of the great things about this book was that going into it you had knowledge of the characters, and a true connection to them. I love books were you feel as if you know the characters because you got to see them through others eyes. The writing again was superb and had amazing flow. Never once did I feel as if the story lagged or lost my attention. The HEA of this book first shows up in the Double Play book 1 in the Pacific Heat series, and let me tell you they don't disappoint. All the old players are back minus a few here and there, and few are added making this an equally great book to its predecessor. To me this book felt it didn't have as much baseball in it, but of course I could very well be wrong.
A man like Wade O'Riley would be my ideal kind of hero, and he was a great one especially for Sam. They fit into each other like a puzzle pieces, where she was serious and exact he was easygoing and unconcerned. He walked though life letting almost everything role of his back because freedom was life to him and baseball was the air that kept him alive to live it. He thought he had it all till Sam melted his heart and the bubble of easy living he kept himself in. Until Sam he never realized how complicated and hard could be exactly what he needed.
I loved how upfront they both were, how they communicated, because it felt so very real, and well was very refreshing to read. It wasn't about secrecy and needing to keep things so far apart because they both kind of got that it couldn't be done and gave up fighting it. And then there was TAG oh love his little heart. I would just love to see how Tag is all grown up and if the author kept the story up long enough to write his story then I would just be beside myself.
This was great addition to the series and hope it's a promising start for more to come. (less)

I do however feel that the ending was rushed. Still worthy of read thought, with its light and airy fun and small suspenseful moments. I secretly hope to may be a story about Beks!!!(less)

Beth Ciotta has a cute way of telling a story and her style is that perfect balance. I told my friend she totally PG-13 she gets stars for the adult but also for not going too far with it. I loved that this book was more about the characters which were amazing by the way. Once I figured out that Kylie was Spenser's little sister it made the best friend and younger sister thing that much more intriguing and funny. I loved Kylie from the first page. It took not time at all for me to warm up to her character. This is a wonderful book and if you like this you will truly like into the wild as well.(less)

Joe a 40yr old who knows a thing or two about love lost and yet still believes that love is what really counts is out to prove her wrong. Joe and Laurels banter is what really makes this book great to me, but the even better part of the banter is sometimes Joe didn’t even have to say anything; Laurel would do it for him. She had to have control and he loved to bring chaos to her door. This is a cute, warmth filled, great read, and the ending is impossibly too sweet for words. Betweens its humor and its ability to suck you I don’t know how anyone could deny loving this book. (less)

I loved Devlin Kavanaugh from the first moment that Jane laid eyes on him, and no not just because he had red hair (I am a sucker for red hair), but because he came from a large family. I could connect with him and truly understand his need to be away. He was exactly who and what Jane needed. They were so very hot together. ***Get your coat*** S'all I'm Say'n. Jane was along with all of the girls was so amazingly written. I wanted to bash her parent’s heads together for her. The girls though even with how much I love reading about the HEA are my favorite part of the book. They have such an easy loving flow between them that I honestly envy. I wish I had friends like them. I found this to an incredibly delightful book so much so that it earned a permanent spot my bookshelf so I can go back and reread whenever I need a good giggle. And if the sneak peak in this book gives you any clue on how great the second one is going to be well I better make room for two books on my bookshelf. (less)

Poppy by far is the all time best character ever written. I loved the tension between Jason and Poppy. I will admit at first I wasn't a very big fan of Jason and around page 99 I seriously doubted weather or not he could turn it around. I was nervous this might be the book to disappoint me. IT WASN'T. I fell in love with him right along side Poppy. I started having my own Sheik Dreams. These two characters were so different and yet so wonderful. They molded together and it was almost seamless. This is my favorite of the series there is no mistaking that. I know I haven’t read the third one yet but I just know and yes maybe I will eat my words but we will see. There is only one complaint and that’s to do with Cory and Danny. Cory liked Danny and I am pretty sure Danny liked her back and even though you picked up the vibes and someone if was told from Cory’s point of view it never went anywhere after that. I was little saddened we didn’t get to see that young love bloom if you will. Other than that I can’t wait till the next book is out and I’m pretty sure this one is going to be a doozey if you judge by the sneak peak you get with Ava. One other thing is it just me or would any one else like to see Finn get a HEA? (less)

Instead it was a hot sensual ride that left me begging for more.
This was a scorching hot story, that dishes out as much humor as it does heart grabbing love. The main characters were both easy fall in love with and the author did an amazing job with showing us the need they both had for each other, you could almost feel it as you read it. It broke my heart in all right places as well as mended it back.
The side character's were all great and, well developed, which I found kind of exciting since they had a large role but didn't, I hope that makes sense but I'm not sure if it does.
My one complaint is that there was a loose end not tied up, however I am holding out hope that its because there is a second story to come. OH PLEASE OH PLEASE OH PLEASE....
I would recommend this wonderful read to anyone because I truly feel it as a little something for everyone.(less)

I knew after reading the first book that these two write with gold ink, but now I'm sure the pens they use must be gold too. I loved Agnes and Shane, and will most likely keep this book on my self for reading on a cold day for a pick me up. And I truly believe that only these two could pull off the name Agnes for the main Heroin and it not make her sound like she was an old biddy. The entire story had me rolling in the floor, itching to fight or flick someone on the forehead, or maybe even knocking them over the head with frying pas as well. I truly hope to see more from these two in the future. A whole lot more.(less)

This was also my first attempt at Audio CD, I haven't listened to books on tape or CD since because I'm someone who know now that I like the words not just the story. But even with it being on Audio CD the characters and and the building of scenes and tensions between the characters were so well written I was still able to get lost in the story like I truly belong in it. Plus the H/H were smoking hot separate and together. I would recommend this book to anyone! (less)

But we will get back to that. I wasn’t to bask in the things I really liked about it first. I loved the fact that this book was about other worlders instead of some seemingly innocent human who doesn’t know what they are walking into. There were just so many refreshing things to this book. The humor was perfect to me, I laughed and enjoy my time with the book, and found myself sad when it ended just because I could read the bickering between Sam and Paen all day. I loved Paen as a character from the very beginning because he was just different, especially when it comes to the other Dark One’s books have read. I liked that he had brothers but was sad that I didn’t see more of the others. I loved Finn and Clare got on my ever-loving last nerve but I admire her adamancy of how she was not a Faery. I did hate that when Paen and Finn for that matter talked, you couldn’t tell they were Scottish, nor did I like that the only reason you felt that Sam was truly Canadian was because she added and Eh here and there. It was also cool so see a few a twists. One that actually took me by complete surprise even though I don’t know if should have since it was kind of hinted at. It was totally action packed and full of laughs, which makes me happy because from the first books and the 5th that I read out of order without knowing it I was, scared for one my favorite authors to write something I totally didn’t like. I had no Idea about and never heard a word or whisper about J.R. Ward and her books. I was in a Walden's and was just browsing and this red paperback book caught my eye. I didn't get it down just looked at it for minute(this part is to me a testament of how great the series is)and this stranger to me came up and said oh it's so worth reading. So I bought it.
I won't lie it did set in my desk at work forever because the first part of the book even though I loved it was very slow and I couldn't get into it. I was thinking to myself that the stranger who said it was worth it, was crazy. But because I had paid for it I decided I am going to read this.
I took it home forced myself through the first little bit (by little bit I mean the first half of the first chapter) and fell in love with a world that I'm happy I could indulge in and a to be a honest an bit sad that I am not a part of and that it's not real. I see what I'm saying and it sounds crazy right but honestly what is a good book if not something that makes you feel so strongly. That you would have these outrageous beyond life characters that your heart would break and beat and jump with. In my opinion it takes a great author to do that. (I truly believe I have found one)
Beth and Wrath, first off his name is Wrath how hot is that, second he is total hot Alpha Male and Beth well I just feel the sun sets and rises with her. She is my Second Favorite Female so Far specially with how she got all crazy this my man I will kill you if you touch him when he was hurt. It was so very awesome to so see the girl rescue the guy and with such force.
And oh my god the brothers whoa FAN ME NOW!!! I loved them all Even Zadist who is my 3rd Favorite Brother. They just have that OH WOW above and beyond dark, pain, strong, alpha WHOO WAAA. Even Butch who well I have to admit he is pretty freaking awesome to be a human in that world and still be kicking. (LOL I hope that makes sense if not I'm sorry it's just the way my brain works) I don't really want to talk about the other brother that much and how I feel about them till I get to book for them. So I will leave my review as this... Even though I had trouble getting through the first half of the first chapter the rest of the book cleared any doubt in my mind that this book is a 5 STAR book. A True MUST READ!!! (less)
