It took forever and a day for the hero and heroine to finally get together, which became long winded. The heroine was hella insecure and I was starting to feel like there was no way in hell I was gonna believe the hero could fall for her, but as the book went along she got a little better with the help of the hero. Lots of secondary characters (probably a little too much IMO). Although I did enjoyed the OW and OM antics to try and break them up. All in all, an okay read, but I enjoyed Strange Bedpersons more. I wouldn't put this book on my top 100, but it was ok in small doses. I Don't think I would want to read JC's books back to back. She takes too long for the hero and and heroine to get together and she always follows her own specific formula that becomes predictable by the second book you read by her, and it can become annoying.(less)

It read like a traditional regency. Card board cut out characters and a depth-less story had me wishing I didn't waste my time on this one. (less)

It was my first SEP and I will be reading more from this talented author. I loved the heroine. Her personality was bubbly and fun, but yet she also had a strong moral character which I admired. The hero was domineering and sexy. I loved the back story that left you wondering if he was a Russian prince or not, and I loved that he was an act in the circus using his talent with the whip. The setting was very unique. I liked seeing the circus life and what it entailed. I wouldn't have mind if they had left the circus life for a while though and experienced Alex's other life too. The love scenes were kind of on the tame side for those of you that enjoy a little more heat, but the book was very well written and fun to read. (less)

This book could have easily been a five star read if it wasn't for the annoying flashbacks, and secondary characters taking valuable time away from the hero and heroine. I loved the story-line. It was unique for the leads to agree to wait eight years before consummating their marriage and for the hero to live his life as if he wasn't married. It made things very interesting when they finally came together. The hero being in love with another woman that loved him was angst driven frustration, and it kept me glued to the pages.
The problem was that I felt like I didn't get enough of the hero and heroine's story in the present time. I would have like to have seen more of that. Even though we were given the flashbacks it felt like you didn't really know them as a couple. I also didn't see the need to have so much time taken away from them and allot to Helena and Hasting when it's a sure thing that they are going to have their own book. The ending wasn't satisfying, and I think it suffered because of all the disruptions. I did enjoy the story apart from all the interruptions though, and like always, I will look forward to ST's next installment.(less)

This was kind of a cute story about best friends becoming lovers. In the beginning the hero had dread locks and I thought that was so unique and I was loving the visual, but unfortunately the author made him cut it off before we even got to the middle of the story. Goodness forbids trying anything interesting and out of the norm for a change! That irritated me so much that the book lost some of it's appeal. It wasn't a bad read but it was very predictable and started to get tedious after awhile. I had never read a Blaze book before and all I can say is now I know why they call them Blaze! It was a very steamy read! (less)

It took a while to get into it but after about 30% things started to really pick up, and it held my interest for a while. It had lots of laughs but lots of eye rolling moments too. The heroine is kind of TSTL but if you suspend reality she becomes funny and cute instead of stupid. The ending was a bit of a kill joy. The reason the heroine was upset at the hero and wanted to leave was really dumb. I wish the author would have thought of something better for her to be pissed of about because I wasn't buying it. It definitely ruined the ending for me and I was enjoying the book up until that point. I could have also done without the secondary romance, but on a whole, the story-line of the plain jane winning the handsome jock was fun to read. The football quiz at the end was a nice touch and it made me smile. 3.5 stars(less)

Too much secondary characters, too much bad guys trying to kill the heroine, too much kidnappings, too much of everything instead of the vital things it needed, like seeing the couple fall in love, a little character development, and a little build up of some chemistry. There was never a moment of peace in this book for that to happen. How could there be with the hero and heroine being shot at and kidnapped every other day? When they weren't being shot at, they were always around a ton of secondary characters at family gatherings and never really having quality time to spend with each other alone.
There was no build up of chemistry whatsoever. The hero just came out of nowhere at the beginning of the book and started to pursue the heroine after rejecting her for years. Surprise! He was in love with her all along but felt he was into too much crap to be with her.I would have like to see a lot more growth with their love story. KA did a very good job at that in Knight. I'm also very surprised that the love scenes weren't even that good. Every time they were getting ready to do it, it was only a tease, and when it finally did happen, it was a half a page of dullness. Very disappointed with this one. I'll just have to sit patiently and wait for KA new releases because I think the Rock Chick series on a whole is not for me because they all seem to have the same plot. (less)
