At first it seemed promising when the hero and heroine first met and then it just jumped to 18 months later out of the blue! That threw me right out of the story. I wanted to see the hero becoming attracted to the heroine when they first met but that did not happen and then the story completely lost me and started becoming a chore to read. ...more

This was actually a book I couldn’t put down. The writing wasn’t top notch but the storyline was excellent! The relationship between the leads was very sweet. Watching them fall in love from childhood to adulthood was fragrant to watch. Then out of nowhere comes the sick and twisted other woman who did whatever it took to get her paws on the hero and succeeded to some extent, so expect cheating if you are interested in reading this book. That took some of the sugar away from all that sweetness! It is definitely not a boring book I’ll tell you that. I love books like these that keep you on your toes throughout.
The reason why this didn’t make it to 4 stars is the writing itself. I feel that the author has potential because she knows how to tell a story but she needs a little more experience. The writing veered to amateur. It's not so bad that it can't be read, but it definitely needs improvement. If she gets better at writing I think this author will be a big hit if she continues to tell compelling stories like these that has emotions running.
Another thing that was really annoying to me but probably won’t bother other readers is the fact that in almost every other sentence the Lords name was being used with a curse word attach to it. It was very distracting to me as a reader because it offended me. I know it was my choice to continue reading it, and I did, so I can’t say much there, but I wanted to warn anyone else that might find that offensive. All in all though, this book was a page turner. ...more

The way he took care of the heroine right off the back was sweet,(who wouldn't want a guy like that in real life) but I wanted a little more thrill of the chase. He fell for her so quickly that it took the fun out of the whole thing.
The most exciting part that kept me reading was the suspense in what would happen when she broke it off with Dane. I hated his guts and I wanted him to suffer for being such a lackluster boyfriend, but even that was a let down because he didn't suffer in the least! He basically couldn't have cared less and that really pissed me off. He was so indifferent about the whole situation. I wished that at least he would have been a little hurt but he was so nice about it! Not enough angst me, sorry. Why is it that authors always feel the need to let off the other women or other men easy? They never feel hurt or pain when the relationship with the hero or heroine ends. You don't have to be politically correct all the time, geez!
My favorite thing about this book was watching the heroine fall in love with the baby over time. It was so sweet and made me cry just remembering when my son was that little, and the love that just took you over day by day, and for that I give it 2.5 stars instead of 2. ...more

She writes such vivid fiery passion between her hero and heroine. They always come to life and jump out at you. This story was a huge cop out though. The relationship between the leads gave me everything I was expecting, but came to an abrupt stall when I realized that I was just going to be reading another hero marries heroine because she was pregnant story-line. I was hoping for a tangible story with the lovers conflict being resolved in a substantial way. The heroine getting pregnant was way too predictable and easy. I would have loved to see their love for each other withstand the pressures and strictures that were placed on them and watch them defy convention without the cop out of a pregnancy. 2.5 stars...more

I did not like the way this author writes. The book didn't have a good flow. It was hard to understand what was going on. I didn't like the heroine either. She would lust at the hero and despise him in the same thought or sentence in a confusing way. She had a nasty attitude also and she came off as a man hater for some reason. I usually don't like to read romances with single moms because authors always make them so bitter towards men which I hate. I think it all stems from the book not being written well because I did like the story-line of the hero being a former child star turn talk show host. And I liked that he was arrogant and spoiled like a real celebrity. The execution was just weird. I don't think I will read this author again. Can I even say that now here on Goodreads???? This book started off really good but the love scenes were terrible. Being a little thicker than the normal HP with 284 pages, I also thought that the author could have done a better job on giving the reader a better feel for where they were. I had no idea at times if the characters were in London or New York. And of course the big mis-understanding was annoying for most of the book, but the story had some really good scenes and at least I didn't start getting bored until it was almost finished. It was an enjoyable story with a few problems that stopped it from being a solid 4 stars, but an above average read....more

I would have been okay with that if the hero provided a little more angst, but before we even reach the middle of the book the guy who was in love with another woman and felt nothing for the heroine was all of a sudden forsaking all others and falling hopelessly in love with her even though he thought she was pregs for another man. I’m sorry but I need a little angst before the HEA. ...more

Okay so this wasn't the best book I ever read, and I would have loved to see a little more character development, but I cannot deny that I enjoyed reading this book. That is a huge statement coming from me since I don't usually read contemporary romance. I just loved the fact that the hero in this book was no nonsense and it took him time to fall in love with the heroine. He didn't lie about his feelings for the her and he made no excuses for who he was and he never lead the heroine on. As a reader you knew the reasons why he didn't just fall in love with her in the beginning, but once she started to change, you saw him slowly being captured. Oh but it was so sweet in the end to see a man with such a hard heart fall in love- and it was believable! ...more
