Meghan is honoring her contract with Ash, the two are on their way to the Winter Palace of Tir Na Nog when they become aware they are being followed by "The Hunter". The chase is on and the two must get to their destination before it is too late and the creature following them manages to catch up! Once again this is full of strange and wonderful characters along the way including their old friend Grimalkin, he shows up to tag along with Ash and Meghan and this time with no strings attached.
I am so enjoying finally sitting down with this series, it is easy to read, has my favorite types of paranormal characters both good and evil and so far has captured my interest without too much trouble from the very beginning. Will be reading book 2 The Iron Daughter and looking forward to it continuing to be as engrossing as the first book and the novella....more

Goodreads Book Synopsis
Every fairy tale has a dark side...
Elodie Rose has a secret. Any day, she’ll become a wolf and succumb to the violence that’s cursed her family for centuries. For seventeen years she’s hidden who and what she is. But now someone knows the truth and is determined to exterminate her family line. Living on borrowed time in the midst of this dangerous game of hide and seek, the last thing Elodie needs to do is fall in love. But Sawyer is determined to protect her, and the brooding, angry boy is more than what he seems. Can they outsmart a madman? And if they survive, will they find a way to beat the curse for good?
I was thirteen when I found out why my mother left me.
It seems important to start my story there. The moment when everything changed and my life became a nightmare. The moment when my mother’s madness began to infect my father. Infect me.
The letter that came on my birthday that year was such a shock to my poor dad. So many times, I’ve wished I’d thrown it away. That I’d never let him see it. But at thirteen, I couldn’t wrap my brain around the enormity of what my mother was imparting. I thought it was a joke at first. A cruel one.
Dad didn’t. Instead of believing that she was mad, he took her words as the cold, hard truth. That I am a monster, just waiting for the proper catalyst to be unleashed. That I am cursed as she was.
Today I know it’s true.
Author Kait Nolan has documented the entire process from the first idea for the book to the actual editing and publishing process on Twitter and her blog, I have followed along waiting for the day when Red became a reality. The wait was more than worth it! The stories pace was perfect, it went smoothly from start to finish. The two main characters of Elodie and Sawyer just seamlessly flowed together like I had known them forever. It was a bit daunting at first from chapter to chapter to have first one POV than the other but by the time I read the first couple of chapters did not even notice as was caught up in what was going on and enjoying the give and take between everyone too much.
For those who are like myself and enjoy quite a bit of action you will get more than enough in this story. Along with the action you get to watch one of the best relationships between two young adult characters develop that I have had the pleasure of reading in quite some time. I told Kait after I finished the book that I likened Sawyer to my all time favorite male romance hero Jamie Fraser from author Diana GabaldonOutlander series . Even without the Scottish accent young Sawyer Grant is quite a force to be reckoned with!
If you think you have read every werewolf tale out there and there is nothing that is fresh, exciting or new to be found just wait until you open this one up! Red threw out some rules and broke the mold of this genre and as a debut YA Paranormal author I feel that Kait Nolan has a bright future ahead of her if she continues as strongly as she started!

The author has taken less than 100 pages and crammed each one full of wonderful characters, quick and easy plot twists and best of all the hot steamy romance that she has made one of her trademarks... For me this novella was a nice interlude that read like a much longer story... The look into a new world with a Vampire Princess and Werewolf Alpha's pairing being the central plot guaranteed my attention as love the characters of both Jace and Morgan! The action and drama that takes place when you add fighting against demon's from Hell into the mix, intrigue and betrayal amongst the ranks of friend and foe alike and the pages just turn faster and faster until the end...
A nice addition to a long line of wonderful stories that Cynthia Eden has penned for her fans! ...more

The first time I came to Deadwood, I got shot in the ass.--Violet Parker
Irony is having a big ol' fiesta and Violet Parker is the piñata. Little girls are vanishing from Deadwood, South Dakota, and Violet's daughter could be next. Short on time and long on worry, she's desperate to find the monster behind the abductions. But with her jerkoff co-worker trying to get her fired, a secret admirer sending creepy love poems, and a sexy-as-hell stranger hiding skeletons in his closet, Violet just might end up as one of Deadwood's dearly departed.

"Nearly Departed in Deadwood is a delightful mix of on the edge suspense and laugh-out-loud humor. Ann Charles is a star in the making!" ~Gerri Russell, award-winning author of Seducing the Knight.
I spent all day off and on reading this breath of fresh air and let me just say that can I please move to Deadwood and shake Violet's hand! Author Ann Charles has a new fan, Nearly Departed in Deadwood is the first book in her new series that encompasses mysticism, mystery, drama, paranormal mumbo jumbo, some fairly decent sexual tension as well as steamy sex and most of all a grade A certifiably funny and heartwarming main character Violet Parker! Her best friend Natalie is also quite a hoot and her kids Addy and Layne would try the patience of a saint, but you have to love them and their innocent child's smiles when they try to pull the hood over Mom's eyes! To top it off there is a real snake in the grass who works in the same realty office with Violet, Ray is one character you are going to love to hate! Doc Nyce is a surprise a minute and hopefully in the next book the good surprises keep right on coming!
I have to say that it was a no brainer for me to figure out who the villain was in the story, however even knowing ahead of time did not prepare me for just how twisted and totally sick said villain really was...
Going into this story expect to enjoy it from beginning to end, hopefully just like me you will be happy to continue the series with book 2 Optical Delusions in Deadwood and book #3 Dead Case in Deadwood. Violet Parker is my new heroine for a laugh out loud good adventure in reading!...more
