But then i read the first 100 pages and wondered why the hell there was such a big fuss over this book. THE WRITING IS TERRIBLE.(view spoiler)[When I was in grades 7-8 I didn't do drugs, was too afraid to date older boys, would NEVER think of kissing my sister's boyfriend, and didn't go streaking just because someone told me to. Yeah, and normal girls wouldn't "knit a bra" as a present to their best friend. Legit? And when the book finally got to the older girls, there were four great plots. There was one in love with her teacher, one who had bulimia, one who flirted with her sisters bf's, and one who was between liking girls and guys. No big deal, some of those are normal plots. I found it far too fetched that a girl would kiss her older sisters boyfriend. That's not the real world, and that would never happen. Only a HUGE slut would do that, and i'm sorry that I don't want to read a book about one. All they say are stupid words that a five year old could read. All the girls replied are incredibly stupid. They say about two words every time they reply to something. "That's nice." "Oh." Geese, Hanna is supposed to be some major girl who had loads of confidence. Why didn't she just put that bitch Mona girl in place? She didn't, and that's NOT what would have happened in real life. Trust me, i'm a teenage girl, and I know that if someone was challenging, or making fun of me TO MY FACE, I would start BITCHING at them. These girls are stupid, and I hate the fact that the show is 10 times better then the book. Its supposed to be the other way around. This book is shitty and i'm happy that I didn't buy it and borrowed it instead. I already know who A is anyways, it's so obvious.. (hide spoiler)]["br"]>["br"]>...more
Theres billions of books that follow the same old story line. It may follow the story of magic, werewolves, or of course, vampires. Right when i was gTheres billions of books that follow the same old story line. It may follow the story of magic, werewolves, or of course, vampires. Right when i was getting sick and tired of those predictable books, i found Gone. It was amazing, as was the second book in the series, Hunger. When i got to Lies, it was like a breath of fresh air. Guess what? There were no vampires whatsoever. I KNOW RIGHT? IMPOSSIBLE! Just kidding. Heres a small summary of the series to let you almost understand what im talking about. All the adults in a small beach town dissapear, mysterious leaving their children alone. So now the children need to fend for themselves while theyre mutating (getting strange powers) dealing with wars against eachother, and fighting hunger.
I really loved Lies. I love how you finally found out where the poof lead you. (Into the arms of the gaiaphage) Congrats Michael on finally giving us some information about the outside world too. - When Astrid sees a glimpse of the world behind the barrier. I really liked how she also started to break down in the book... letting some of us, shall i say jealous, teenage girls finally be shown that shes human. Not just 'Astrid the Genius' The information that you're told in Lies answers many questions you get while reading this series. Like, Whats happening in the outside world? To what extent are Peteys powers? What does Petey see when hes playing his video game? Is the darkness atually gone? Will it ever be?
Also, the book ends strangely. At the very end Sam coughs, then says something along the lines of "I let out a cough. The flu thats been going around is finally catching up to me. I guess thats all you can ask of the FAYZ." This leads to think, is that where the 4th books title comes to play? Plague- which means something along the lines of a deadly disease. Many people think that that flu is going to become a dangerously deadly disease which kills and defeats many people among the FAYZ. Will your favourite character be one of them? At least we know that Sam is safe, seeing that hes the main character. LOL
Hope this helped. "Why am i with you?" - Astrid "Because im devilishly handsome." - Sam Pce. I hope you survive the FAYZ.
Hm... Let me say that this book let me down a little. Let me also say that majority of the girls probably read this book because of Jace, and Jace's coHm... Let me say that this book let me down a little. Let me also say that majority of the girls probably read this book because of Jace, and Jace's cocky attitude.. and his fictional looks.. and his kick ass way of kicking ass... and his way of saying the right things to get you going "OMFG WHY ARE YOU FICIONTAL".. and.. ugh too much. But when you change that to sulking Jace who distances himself FOR THE WHOLE BOOK from the romance that MAKES this series.. thats when I start to ready the fire to burn the book. You gave me Simon the Vampire in return. Seriously? I felt as if I was forced to turn every page in the hopes that the book would get better as it continued. I'll let you in on a little secret. It didn't. I hate when books droll on because the authors can't bare to let the story go. Come on, you should have just ended the third book with Clary and Jace kissing under the magic lights of Alicante. Stretching the story line to fit in another three books is madness. Sorry Cassandra, although I completely loved the first three books.. i'm not biting my nails and holding back screams for the next book in the series. ...more
