Idk... nothing special... extremely boring until part 3... then when i was at part 3 i sort of... well... predicted the ending... it wasnt bad... it had me feeling the emotion and stuff... but... there was nothing besides the stuipd story of their relationship... and idk... it wasnt even that interesting... perhaps its just because everyone else raves about it that i think it will actually be... well amazing... and then it fails to lead up to my standards... like twilight... this was leagues better than twilight... it had a cute romance story and i liked John as a character... but... i knew exactly what would happen... and it didn't have that "i dont wanna put this down" effect... and I love romance... so I honestly thought this would be perfect... the writing was nice and there were parts that i adored... but it wasnt something I'd rave about.... Every detail and every part of the story was exactly picked for me. Yes, I'm very aware of how cheesey and corny and terrible I'm being but I love this book. Its story was captivating adventurous and not terribly executed. I found myself entranced in this new world and hoping that I could stay there for longer then I'd be reading the book. I adored the characters, each of which had their own personalities, and was pleased greatly with the dialogue between them. (Which is one of my favorite things in books) I'm still struggling with how I'm going to explain everything... The adventure I was taken on was fantastic the struggle and victory with the characters the impossible powers the graced people had and everything was just fantastic. The plot to me was creative and something that I feel will be worth reading again in the future. It was just utterly fantastic a great adventure story with sprinkles of romance and love and care... The writing to me was beautiful and not inexperienced or choppy or anything like that. (which happens in many books with good plots but poor writers)Definitely one of my favorite books and I'm definitely glad that I've read this one. The ending was greatly done and I adore the whole story and I'm sorry, I've tried to fight it but who can resist Po, definitely not perfect, and definitely not disgustingly arrogant, Reading Po and Katsa's dialogue and smiling and laughing along with them makes me feel like this book is brilliant. Not only in the romance aspect did the dialogue shine for me, but also in general between Katsa and Bitterblue and Katsa and Raffin and even Katsa and Giddon. The dialogue coupled with the fantastic action (yeah girls kicking ass) and adding fantasy touches of the graces and such made this book definitely one of my favorite reads.(less)

Probably an odd way of talking about a book, but to me, that's what it was. It gave me all I wanted from the book and more. A great story of the girl and how she deals with her life and how its starting to change. The interactions between the characters brought the story to life. I felt the characters changing and it kept me reading. Everything was described in the most detailed way without throwing too many words in your face. I found that it was also a great balance of sadness and hopelessness with happiness, laughter, and faith. It was great to just go through the story and watch willow grow. I feel like this book gave a great insight to what willow felt and why she did what she did and that the ending was probably one of my favorite endings of books. It wasn't just a cop out and oh here everything's perfect now. I felt like it was definitely well written in my opinion at least and I'm definitely glad I read it and have learned alot from it. The beginning was off-putting but it quickly saved itself. The beginning was quite predictable but once i felt like i knew the whole book it flipped in a matter of seconds. It has a great story and i'm excited to see what else will be done with the idea. I do love how everything is far from perfect and characters are tested and its just all really great. I hope it only gets better from here
I'm coming back to this and i'm going to say that it definitely wasnt perfect. It could've been better with more backround on the characters. And certain things were just... added in to help with the story, but i'm hoping the next book will take you deeper into this world of new things. I want to know more about arkarian and more about there journeys into the past. i want to know more of the guard and what they are doing. But this book was very enjoyable for me to read at home sick. And i really do recomend it even if just for a short read.
It could have gone deeper into characters, but i'm hoping much more will be revealed about them in the next book, and i'm pretty happy with what i knew about the characters. I'm glad some things happened that i wasnt able to predict but i'm also glad characters stuck to who they were and didnt do random things that didnt fit their persona just to advance the plot. So overall this book was really well done in my opinion, but maybe i'm just easy to please.(less)
