It was one of many, but just had to pick up as soon as I could. It wasn't what I was expecting to read, but did love it through and through. The Dave McKean art at the beginning of each chapter fits in perfectly and is in the usual amazing Dave McKean style.
If you are a fan of one of both you should pick this book up and read. You won't be dissapointed. Even with not being a fan, well you should still pick this book up. It's different, fresh and a great story from start to finish....more

There exists a secret band of brothers like no other-six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Yet none of them relishes killing more than Wrath, the leader of The Black Dagger Brotherhood.
The only purebred vampire left on earth, Wrath has a score to settle with the slayers who murdered his parents centuries ago. But, when one of his most trusted fighters is killed-leaving his half-breed daughter unaware of his existence or her fate-Wrath must usher her into the world of the undead-a world of sensuality beyond her wildest dreams.
Being that this is the first in the series, I knew after reading it I needed the rest. This book sets us up for the others with background on the vampire race and the slayers out to kill them all off. It's as close to perfect as a author can get with so much information that needs to be conveyed in the pages of a first book.
Speaking from different characters points of view kept it clear from the beginning what was going on within both sides of the war that was raging. It's fast paced with lots of energy and romance. If you’re looking for a great beginning to an amazing series be sure to start your reading here. You won't be disappointed. ...more
Deeply scarred without and within, vampire warrior Zsadist believes that he is unworthy of either compassion or true love. One night a glimmer of hopeDeeply scarred without and within, vampire warrior Zsadist believes that he is unworthy of either compassion or true love. One night a glimmer of hope crosses his path, embodied in the young civilian Bella; yet, true to form, he pushes her away. But when the enemy of their race kidnaps Bella, Zsadist can't rest until he finds her, and once he does, he faces his biggest threat to date as fate grants him one last chance at peace. Ward spins her take on Beauty and the Beast into a raw, gritty tour de force, creating an array of ugliness and beauty, pain and pleasure in a tale that sparks enough plot stunners to keep readers fascinated for years to come. Not for the faint of heart--strong sexuality and stronger language rule here--this genre-bending third novel in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series, following Lover Eternal is a perfect fit for those who like fast-paced urban fantasy rich in both fury and poignancy.
This is the 3rd book in the series and I have to say it’s been my all time favorite of the brother’s stories so far. I couldn’t get enough of Zsadist in the last 2 books and didn’t want this one to end. Hearing all about his past and how he’s become the “person” he is because of it all makes me finally understand some of what makes him tick.
The action, further backgrounds of the brothers and slayers continues throughout this book. The romance was different in this book and was written amazingly from the views of someone who scared on the inside and out that everything fit together great.
I hated when the book ended and only wanted more of this brother. If you’ve read this far you must keep going! ...more

He's the best fighter, the quickest to act on his impulses, and the most voracious lover-for inside him burns a ferocious curse cast by the Scribe Virgin.
Possessed by this dark side, Rhage fears the times when his inner dragon is unleashed, making him a danger to everyone around him. When Mary Luce is unwittingly thrown into the vampire world, she must rely on Rhage's protection. Knowing that Mary feels the same intense animal attraction, Rhage must make her his alone...
Another book, another brother.
The second book in the series continues pretty much where the first one left off. More information about the brothers and their slayers. With each book we get a background on the brother centered with each story. With this we learn all about Rhage and his "demon" side.
It's a great story with more of the same action, romance and story as the previous book. If you've read books one and two, keep reading they just get better and better. ...more
