Have you ever met a ghost?? Neither had Professor Peyton Cache, until he purchased the old Victorian house. Now he has a resident ghost which he needs to get rid of before he has a dinner party which has a lot at stake. What better way than hire ghost hunters or so Peyton thought.
This is the premise of Karen Kelley's latest release. The story has a hot steamy romance weaved with humor, all the elements that we have learned is Karen's distinctive style of writing.
Kaci Melton is a ghost hunter, in business with her Dad. She knows how to hunt them and get rid of them, but there is one BIG problem - ghosts scare her. This ghost is more aggressive than others - it wants Kaci for itself - what's a girl to do!! Get protection?? Who ends up protecting who here?
This is a fun romp for the reader. Peyton and Kaci come from different worlds, but the explosive feelings are hot and steamy and know no boundaries. But when secrets are revealed can they be overcome. Will the jealous ghost win in the end as it gets more aggressive. Then there is the father who brings more problems. All elements to keep the reader holding their breath one minute and laughing out loud the next.
The book is a delightful read, with lots of paranormal aspects tied into a steamy romance. I enjoyed this book and am sure that it is one not to be missed. I look forward to reading more of Karen's books in the future, a writer whose star is only getting brighter, and one worth watching. (less)

Cal Braxton is a professional football player, who after a much publicized breakup with his now ex-fiancé is hiding out on his brother’s dude ranch from everyone until the dust settles and he thinks through his options. The last thing he needs is a scheming reporter to invade his territory for a story. He was going to enjoy making her life miserable and would have her running back to the city in no time. Cal was going to win this round or so he thought underestimating the staying power of Nikki when she is after a scoop. Nikki handles all that Cal throws at her and then some.
Nikki Scott also known as “The Barracuda” is a reporter who always gets her story. Although she resents her editor for sending her to get the lowdown on Cal – a womanizing, spoilt, sports player – she will get her story and succeed at all costs. When she sinks her teeth into a story nothing will stand in her way. Nikki just never thought that a dude ranch could be this rough and her accommodations are less than ideal with the rustic cabin that has not been inhabited in a long time, and which comes with its own ghost and outside toilet. Who was to know that the subject of her story was so hot and makes her melt whenever she is around him?
The games that Cal and Nikki play are entertaining to the reader. Nikki has no idea that her cover was blown from day one and Cal is onto her. On the other hand Cal cannot believe that no matter what he does Nikki doesn’t give up and go back to the City. All he knows is he is losing ground fast when it comes to keeping his heart out of this mix and that is something he will not allow. He is going to use this situation to his advantage and then walk away for once on the winning side of the press.
The hot chemistry between Nikki and Cal make the pages sizzle. There is also a secondary romance between Cal’s brother and the massage therapist which only ads depth to an already entertaining read. It is fun to see two stubborn, obstinate people deny their true feelings to one another because we all know that the mighty will fall. When all the lies come to light will these two come to their senses and see past it all to what they really have? Karen has weaved an enjoyable read which I would recommend. This author is one of my favorites and this story has all the elements of a sizzling romance from the very first. I look forward to more stories from her in the future. (less)
Alex Trahern is a person bent on revenge from the one person who he feels is responsible for his father's death, John Harrison....moreWow, A Great Read !!,
Alex Trahern is a person bent on revenge from the one person who he feels is responsible for his father's death, John Harrison. He has accumulated as much information he could in order to help cement a deal for a hostile take over of John's company Hypertron. This includes a picture of Isabel who Alex has always thought was beautiful. But being the enemy's daughter has prevented him from acting on his obsession with her. But when Isabel contacts Marcus Danvers to offer him a better position, Alex decides to pay her a visit.
When Isabel meets Alex for the first time she is disturbed by his presence, but regardless of her inner feelings for him she holds her ground and stands up to him. Although Alex is a tall, dark, handsome and a powerful person, Isabel is the beautiful, kind and sweet person that throws him for a loop.
The sexual chemistry is strong from the first meeting, and Alex has decided that he must have her, as his own, and thinks that by marrying her he can deflect her leaving him when she finds out about his revenge plan.
This is a book that shows how Isabel, with her love for him, can turn the determined and at times hard-headed Alex around. Lucy Munroe takes us on an journey with two strong characters and the twists and turns that comes before the final showdown, all the while showing you the human aspects of them both. She also does a great job of laying the foundation for Marcus to have his own story. This was a great read, which left you wanting for more and I look forward to her next book. (less)
AND ABLE is the last of the trilogy which I hate to see ending, but Lucy has penned an powerful and emotional read.
Claire Sharpe is Josie's best friend and had been her roommate up until Josie's marriage. She is very smart, independent and witty with lots of sass. Ex-mercenary/solider, Brett (Hotwire) Adams, a computer expert is in partnership with his best friend, Wolf, in the Security Consulting business has installed a security system at Nitro's request on Josie's house. He is single and makes it very clear to everyone that he is going to stay that way. Claire has no intention of trying to change his mind as she has her goals and besides lust is highly overrated her opinion. Brett is just the person to show her how wrong she is in this assumption and how good they would be together. When the security system is breached and an attempt is made on her life, Brett goes into protection mode and will stop at nothing trying to find out what is going on and who wants Claire dead and why? He has no intention of letting anything happen to Claire. This is a fast paced, suspense story with lots of emotional turmoil. Claire trusts no one but is learning fast that Brett can be trusted and counted on and she is falling fast in love with the no commitment soldier. Brett on the other hand has to work through his feelings for Claire and get past the serious hurt he suffered from his first love, at the same time keeping Claire alive and away from harm. Lucy has penned a wonderful ride for the reader with sexual, sensational, explosive heat between Claire and Brett, mixed with suspense and intrigue, binding it all together to make AND ABLE a fitting conclusion to the trilogy. In the end we find that the mercenaries are READY, WILLING AND ABLE and a great trilogy for the reader.(less)

This is an anthology with Lori Foster, Karen Kelley and Dianne Castell and is a wonderful sexy read. All three authors have done a great job of working the true Christmas spirit into their stories.
The Christmas Present by Lori Foster brings us Beth Munroe who has broken up with her fiancé that she caught cheating. How better than to get revenge but for to cheat with his best friend, Levi Materson? Only the whole plan has her seriously shaken and running home to Gillespie, Kentucky for the holiday season and to sort through her mixed emotions. Levi follows her because he wants Beth to acknowledge what they have. The sizzle between the two is enough to melt the snow, and the trip to resolving their problems is fun, hot read.
It's A Wonderful Life by Karen Kelley returns us to Two Creeks, Texas. Bailey Tanner is a 4th grade teacher who would like some spice and excitement in her life. Enter a sexy, bad boy person in the form of Trey Jones on his Harley. Now things are looking up until Bailey finds that he is a travelling preacher and off limits, but when he gets hurt, she takes him home with her. The heat that these two give off is enough to burn the pages, but there is a lot of guilt and secrets between them that must be worked through. Trey is not really who he says but actually Jeremy Hunter, an actor, playboy out getting into character for his upcoming role. The conflicting, roller coaster ride that this story takes the reader on is an enjoyable one. There are times when you need ice to cool you off, feel like slapping the hero, and sympathize with Bailey, but with Christmas just around the corner is there magic in the air?
Home For Christmas by Dianne Castell tells the story of LuLu Cahill who has come home to O'Fallan's Landing because of having no where else to go when her ex-boyfriend runs off leaving her pregnant, broke and in debt. She meets Sebastian Moore, who has just been dumped at the altar in the most unlikely place. To say that these two set off enough sparks to light up the whole area and melt the snow would be an understatement. The reader is then lead on a hot, wild, funny read as these two try to fight their feelings for each other and play matchmakers for others. Does it work? Will they see the error of their ways?
This is a fun sexy read by three talented authors that can pull you in from the first page and hold your interest to the very end. Each has spot appearances by family and friends that the reader has met in previous stories, but all stand alone. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and would recommend that you pick it up. You will get a fun, sexy and hot read, and who could go wrong with that.(less)

WILLING is the second book of the Mercenary trilogy.
Josie McCall, is a highly trained mercenary, who has decided to get out of the profession and into computer programming. She has never known any other life as her father owns a Mercenary school and trains soldiers making sure Josie was one of the best. Daniel (Nitro) Black Eagle is a highly trained explosive expert and a fellow mercenary, who has bought into the school and is her fathers partner. Daniel has the hots for Josie and is so sexually frustrated around her that all he does is snap and growl at her. Josie on the other hand feels that Daniel hates her and cannot understand why but at the same time does not understand why her body goes on alert whenever he is around. Josie may be an excellent mercenary but has no clue when it comes to relationships of the male-female kind. When an explosion levels the school with her father in it, and she gets him to the hospital, only to have him go missing, Josie and Daniel must work side by side to bring down the extremists, and find her father. It is while on this mission that they discover that they are hot for each other. Daniel takes great pleasure in bringing out Josie's feminine side, in an explosive, exciting way. Josie knows that Daniel is called Nitro for a reason, and when she finds out the reasoning behind it is not only there to help him work through a lifetime of doubts but hopefully can help him forge a future. This is an action packed, suspense romance with so much heat between Josie and Daniel that it is a wonder the pages don't disintegrate. Can they find her father in time, and bring the culprits to justice? Is Daniel WILLING to take a chance on the future? Lucy has again penned a terrific read and one well worth reading.(less)
