I have not read any of the other books but this one and I have to admit I was a bit lost at times with the characters but with that being said this book was excellent. There are so many twists and characters to keep you guessing up until the end which is what I enjoy.
It was nice to see Merry's interactions with her friends, including Lizzie and the librarian, Hannah. At first they gave her the cold shoulder after being gone a few months to Spain. But is now right in the world.
I will have to read the other books in the series as this piqued my interest....more

Faith is back in town to help her two grandmothers run Scrap This MysteryCropped to Death is book one is the Faith Hunter Scrap This Mystery series.
Faith is back in town to help her two grandmothers run Scrap This Mystery shop. She just wants a simple life and keep to herself as much as possible. Both grandmothers have other ideas with trying to get Faith set up with a good friend, Steve, and then there is the new detective on the job, Ted Roget.
Faith is getting ready for a show and as some of the other employees are working on their projects. She looks over to see Marilyn cutting out her husband in all the pictures she has. She thinks he has been cheating with a co worker at his job and the woman is even pregnant. As they arrive at the show Marilyn is under the impression her husband wants to get counseling and get back together. Well, that is until she sees him and his girlfriend walking hand in hand towards them. Marylin is fuming and storms off. Little does Faith know he is about to be murdered and Marylin the prime suspect.
Faith starts looking into who has done what and also trying to keep her past from everyone.
The author does a great job with the characters. I also love the shop and the ideas that are woven into the story. There are some laugh out loud moments with Faith and the two guys and then there are her grandmothers Hope and Cheryl. You are pulled into the book and you can easily imagine yourself in the small town of Eden WV. A read I did not put down I read from start to finish. A reader will find it hard to stop.
I have already looked into book two and will be starting it soon.

The cover it catchy I like this version better than the others I have seen.
This is book one of the four book series. This story takes off just like P & J as far as Jane heading over to the Bentley's in the rain and she indeed gets sick and has to stay. Where it changes is the mystery about the Netherfield. We have Highwayman George which is Wickham in P & J. Then there is this mysterious ghost story that Lydia tells after Jane is gone about the house being haunted.
Elizabeth goes to visit and stay with Jane and encounters Mr. Darcy and the dreadful Bentley sisters again. They are portrayed just like in P & J which is fun. As Elizabeth gets there she sees this ghostly face in the attic window a bit startled she almost falls when Darcy helps her. Things start missing and one night as Elizabeth is walking in the gardens she comes across a stranger.
Tilly the lady's maid for Jane and also helps Elizabeth makes things from flowers to help with headaches and other symptoms. But she might have another hidden agenda.
The author does a good job with the characters and if you like Jane Austen and her stories you will like this one. I like the fact it is a mystery and it is solved before the end. The reader can guess who the person is before the end but it is still a fun read. I will be looking at book two and see how Darcy and Elizabeth come along. Caroline is a bit more spiteful in this story which I like.
An interesting read that I didn't want to put down all the time.

Ryli was taking some pictures of a crime scene of a dead woman that was on the School board. No one in the town seemed to like her. Ryli and her friend Paige decide to see if they can find any clues and see who might be the suspect. With things not going too well for them, Ryli decides to bring her eccentric great- aunt Shirley, ex private investigator, in to the picture. Garrett, the police chief and friend of Ryli’s brother doesn’t seem to get a long with Shirley and there are some great laugh out loud moments through out the book.
When a package arrives on Ryli’s doorstep with a surprise things heat up with Garrett who doesn’t wan her out of his site. He has a time of keeping her out of trouble which seems to follow her around like a shadow.
The characters have a way of weaving themselves into your mind and heart. I love how all of them get along and make things interesting. You want to see who did what. I was kept guessing almost until the end. You will be surprised who commits these crazy murders. ...more

A little fun at the lake house is what the girls need and want but Ryli should have known she would have some type of issues.
I have to admit this one keep me guessing up until the end. I never saw this person being the killer. The author does an excellent job with this series. As the women arrive at the lake house they were looking for their neighbor who is usually busy. As aunt Shirley is making jello shots and having a good time Ryli sees and hers someone banging on her neighbor's door and goes to see who it is. A big man tries to intimidate her but Shirley is on the scene. As he leaves and they go into the shop they find her neighbor and the Cavern police think Ryli committed the murder.
Paige and Ryli meet some of their old friends but could one of them be the murderer?
Another great story the author did up and looking forward to reading book 3....more

In doing so his aunt passes away and deeds the house and land to Mallory instead of her ex boyfriend and mother in law. Things start to happen when she moves into the house. Someone tries to break in, valuable pictures might still be in the house, a man dies right on her property after talking to her the day before about drilling on her land. With her sister Rachel's, help they work to find out who the killer is.
Mallory makes friends with a local attorney and his daughter. They lend a helping hand as well. The story was well written and the characters interact well with each other. The scenes were very descriptive as you could imagine yourself in the story along with Mallory.
A great start to a new series and looking forward to book 2. ...more

I have to confess I have not read book 1 but I did not feel like I missed out on much either.
Talia is a great heroine I could totally relate to her as she is in my age range, which is refreshing in cozies. She has her new restaurant Fry Me a Silver. She is moving past Fish and chips with all her deep fried recipes. When Talia goes across the street to the new boutique she is greeted by a nasty person named Ria. Talia can not understand why she doesn't like her.
Soon there is a fundraiser and and Ria is beside Talia's table. It is then she remembers who Ria is and why she hates Talia. Talia also finds that Ria has her grandmother's scarf that Talia knitted for her when she was 16 but Ria refuses to give back. Ria's helper is also made at her and storms off. It seems Ria has a few enemies.
When Ria is found dead with the scarf that really belongs to Talia is found around the woman's neck, Talia has to get the case solved and soon.
The author does a wonderful job with the characters and settings. I found myself wanting to help Martha and Lucas in the kitchen. I was kept guessing towards the end which is always nice.
You want to eat the treats they make. Thankfully there are a few recipes in the back of the book we can all try. I will be getting book 1 to read and look forward to the next book in the series. ...more

A long time friend Annie has gotten back into contact with Cassandra aka Cassie after years of not talking. They plan to meet but Annie is found dead and Cassie is the main suspect.
She decides to forgo the help of Matt and and find the real killer. With Nana's help and her best friend Jenna and Link also her employees, they just might find out what is going on. Nana is a hoot with her umbrella.
The author does a great job keeping us guessing who the real murder is until the end. The characters and scenes are great and descriptive. You can picture yourself in Georgia with the characters. I am looking forward to book 2 of this series. ...more
