It wasn't until I've come to review the book I even realised it was part of a series - me being me of course ive started at number 3, but it made no difference to the book.
The story was beautiful - childhood best friends seperated as children by a horrific act that the heroine knows nothing about, leaving her broken hearted that the love of her younmg life has deserted her and leaving the Hero to start afresh in London with his family, never quite the same as he was when he left. -The pasts of the hero and the heroine come back to haunt them in so many different ways, both desperate to move on but neither sure just how to do that, until they are reunited as adults, brought back together by a series of events that no one would guess.
Their reunion finally leads to them both opening up, just a little at first, making the other fully aware that although they are now all grown up - the children they once were are still inside them, as is the friendship they had so many years before, when things were so simple. The adults they have grown into have anything but simple lives!
Im saying no more and im not going into the plot fully - Yes it is ( As almost all romance novels are ) written to a well known formula... but this books goes beyond the normal formula and makes itself much more!
This book gave me cold shivers and I only wish it could have been twice as long as it was, I didn't want the story to end, I wanted to know more and more about this couple and how they carried on through life, with the possibility of the past finally no longer taunting them I was left so sure that they would be happy together and that things given more time will only get better between them.
I really did enjoy this - I can't wait to read the rest in the series - the other lords of Vice have been introduced to us in this book, but we don't...moreI really did enjoy this - I can't wait to read the rest in the series - the other lords of Vice have been introduced to us in this book, but we don't really know much about them - so it will be fun finding out!!
This book had some fantastic parts - and towards the last third of the book - its non bloomin stop!!!!
I would definatley recommend this book - there are some parts that are very funny - others of course which are corny and and even a couple of what the heck moments - but overall the story was good, filled with an Alpha rogue, some passion... erm some more passion, hearbreak, kidnap, public humiliation, broken hearts, betrayal, some naughty action in the back of a carriage, evil villains, and love and so much more.

I didn't like the fact that this prim and proper Virginal Heroine within seconds of meeting the Hero ( whilst he's engaged in an orgy no less ) is suddenly thinking that the years shes spent sheltered from the outside world and as a spinster mean nothing to her and suddenly she wants him - there's not even the oh will I wont I aspect - oh what shall i do about my virtue - Its mentioned briefly then the next thing you know she's snogging the face off of him, she throws a couple of - oh no I cant's in- but it was all too quick for me. After what seems like two sentences with the Hero - she actually states - hes my friend... again tooooo sooooon!Especially given the reason why she is there and what he's actually saying to her. The baddies in this book are very bad, as I say the characters themselves are well written- but sadly the story is rushed so we don't get to see the characters properly I don't think. There were a few points when I thought oh wow - here we go ... only for the action or drama to be rushed through, leaving me a wee bit miffed.
I would say give the book a read - the characters are good ones and the basis for the plot is very good - just poorly exercuted at times. (less)

I stupidly thought it sounded like a bit of fun, but ended up losing hours I will never get back for a story I kept tutting and frowning at, having to force myself to carry on or pick it back up. The characters were flat ( they had tohe potential for sooo much more ) the heroine was.... well I didn't like her, the hero was half her age, something that could have been interesting, but sadly wasnt. The story had no depth, the heroine goes from bed to bed feeling that emotionally she can't let anyone in ( including the reader )but sadly also the young hero.
The young hero himself whilst much more likeable jumps from being obsessively in love with the heroine, to letting himself be seduced or ordered into other characters beds.
I would right more, but I fear I have wasted enough time on this book.
