I know this was your story Dafne, but I was all about the rest and the whole omg, will they never be able to marry? No one is having babies! Saaaaaaaaa I know this was your story Dafne, but I was all about the rest and the whole omg, will they never be able to marry? No one is having babies! Saaaaaaaaaaaaaadness! And since the next book is about Dafne, that is just, sad you know. No one gets to share their love, well except for Andi. No one is having babies, except for Ami. Now I am sad.
Now when I have that off my chest. This is about Ursula having doubts, others having doubts about her taking the High Crown (to me it would be better if everyone took care of their own business and cut the high stuff.) And it's about who will take over after her.
And it is about seers making hints that maybe Dafne has a future too. Yay, I can not wait. Especially since book 4s blurb sure seems interesting. No, it has nothing to do with that premise that I love, fine, yes it has everything to do with that premise. (edit, reading this later and I have NO idea what I am talking about)
This is mostly a talking and thinking story. Trying to put the kingdom back together. I just want everyone to be happy though.
The Undying King
My thoughts: This should so have been a book! I mean, the ending, was a solid ending, BUT there is danger and I am all then what? More!
Imogen is the daughter of a witch, who is dying, and with her last breath the witch sends Imogen to find the Undying King.
I liked Ceneda, he was so amused by this strange woman showing up in his dead city and calling in a debt.
Duh, of course they start to fall for each other. I liked hearing his story first, that would be quite a book, but I am sure I would not like him. Now, he has mellowed. A bit. And Imogen was so nice. They fit each other well.

I read 200 pages in a flash, and then the other 200 pages in another flash. It sure was one of those books where the pages just flew by.
Kate, eh, she was too full of herself, she needed to be put down a peg or two. But she was a product of her environment.
August, oh he was lovely. Shy, wanting more, loved music...and a monster. A monster that will suck out your soul with music. Oh did I forget to say that this is a futuristic society where monsters were born and pray on those who can not pay for protection from Kate's father. Or as in August's part of town where the monsters and sinners are hunted down.
There be monsters. The messy ones, the bloody ones and those who take your life force. And I really liked this world, I did want more, but then all people are stuck in that city and do not know much. That is if you do not have money to get out.
These two will meet. The city is crumbling around them. And I could not put the book down.
I really like how Schwab writes, and I certainly look forward to more in this series. It ends without any major cliffies, but I crave more. The darkness of it all....more

He needed to stay in the minor league cos else a crime cartel would fine him, and kill him. So he gets into trouble, but he loves baseball. Poor man, he just wants to play.
Also baseball is one boring sport...just saying ;) I am so not familiar with it.
Anyway, Abby comes back home after her husband cheated on her. He was an idiot. She starts working for her dad, and meets bad boy Trevor. But he is bad news. And she did just get a divorce from her idiot husband. And there are bad guys after him so he keeps secrets. But he is so fine, she thinks And she is so nice, he thinks. So they date, all while he worries about his past. A past that obviously will come calling to build a bit of suspense.
I have only read 2 books in this series, so if I have come across Valentine before I can not remember him...and I believe that is a good thing.
I thinkI have only read 2 books in this series, so if I have come across Valentine before I can not remember him...and I believe that is a good thing.
I think this one has to get a high grade just because of how fucked up Valentine was. He was so broken, so dark, so without conscience. A borderline sociopath. ..I loved him. Mostly because of broken he was, yes he was one of those, I can change him! Also cos he was so dark.
Valentine is a bastard, not a bastard by birth, but one freaking bastard. He blackmails everyone. He laughs at misfortunes of others, he does not give a damn. He is the devil. But already there you can see that something is wrong, because he does truly love his sister and would do anything to protect her. And then we hear his story and it is messed up. But still, he does bad things, and...well at least they are not against Bridget, so I can forgive him. She awakens him, makes him human again.
Aye, Bridget, she really is a bastard, by birth. Now she is a house keeper, and is trying to find the evidence that Valentine blackmails her mother with. She is kind and patient, and you really need to be that with him since he is an asshole.
Their romance is not insta in anyway. No he is not attracted by her, but after a while she starts to fascinate him. She, well he is hot, give him credit for that, but he is also an asshole and that is all she can see. It grows, and it has to grow since he has no heart.
He is a real bastard, only a patient woman would ever wait for him. I'd have kicked him in the nuts long before that. But oh he he longed for her, but at the same time felt it as a weakness. How sad I felt for him.
Hitomi does not have it easy in this book. She still suffers from the sunbolt. She is slowly getting her memories back. She is learning magic, but ifHitomi does not have it easy in this book. She still suffers from the sunbolt. She is slowly getting her memories back. She is learning magic, but if anyone finds her they will hunt her down. And then they come for Bridgit, whom she lives with. All alone again, what will she do? She really is cursed.
So I get the whole rogue thing, but, I mean Bridgit is teaching her now, could she just not just become one of them? I do not really get why she is still bad then? Why would she have to be like killed or drained of power? She is not a rogue, she has a teacher.
But let's move away from that. This is a book where Hitomi tries to get her teacher back. Where she finds herself again. Where we meet some old friends, and new friends. And I find myself curious about the next book and a certain thing. And then there was that other thing I am SO curious about too. I so want to know THAT thing. But we have to wait until book 3, but I am soooo curious!
Hitomi is not particularly kick-ass in the ass kicking aspect, she is a thinker. She waits, she plans. And she is kind.
Oh...I miss Val. Val is awesome. I have a Val crush.
I have never read Alistair Reynolds so I can't say a lot about him, but I have tried a Stephen Baxter book and I must say it felt very Baxter like.
ItI have never read Alistair Reynolds so I can't say a lot about him, but I have tried a Stephen Baxter book and I must say it felt very Baxter like.
It is the story of Howard Falcon, through out centuries as he just lives on, watches and plays a part. After a crash he is not human, not machine. Trusted and mistrusted by other humans as they spread out and settle on planets.
It's not one of those stories where you are told this and that happened. Nope, we get to see him visit a planet. 200 years later we get to see him doing something else. There are big jumps in time and while seeing that we also see the rise and fall of others. Shimps. The machines. Humans...
It is hard to explain this book. Each story can stand on its own, even though they are tales from his life and they should of course be read like that since it is a book, but you get the idea. And they are interesting. He is a good character to follow, there is a sadness to him, he is one of a kind, there was never anyone like him. Or would ever be.
A fascinating story. I like that how far we make it, we are still humans, and that is not always a good thing.
On another note, I should read more Baxter, and try Reynolds
First, poor poor Duke of Daynton! Ok so I have not read book 1 and see how he was there, but he lost his fiancee there to another man..his brother.
AndFirst, poor poor Duke of Daynton! Ok so I have not read book 1 and see how he was there, but he lost his fiancee there to another man..his brother.
And here, omg, poor Duke! He is loosing again!
You all know the premise. Pretty girl to marry a Duke, but she falls for his brother. And most of the time in those books I do not feel that bad. I am all they are meant to be! Or, he is an idiot! Or, something else. But here, I felt really really bad for him. First he seemed like such a sweetie. Yes he was awkward, strict, cos his dad was so tough with him and he had to be so perfect. And yes he makes mistakes, but then he tells this secrets and my heart melted, and broke at the same time. I just wanted to hug him.
And look, half this review has been about my crush on a certain Duke. But seriously, when he tells that secret, you will want to hug him..and marry him.
I should say something about Charlene and Jack...but someone else just stole the spotlight!
Charlene picks pockets. Jack is the Duke's long lost brother. He has been staying in America. These two meet and later meet again, alas it is too late and she is promised to another. But they want each other, they learn to know each other...all while another heart is breaking. That would be mine, cos Char should totally have picked a certain other brother. Ok fine, fine, she will be really happy with Jack. They are perfect for each other. And the next book will be about the Duke, and I know his match now. They will fit each other, still, saaaad! Poor Duke *hugs him*
I have never talked about a side character this much before, I might have a crush.
But hey, the book was good, even if the poor Duke was again heartbroken....more
Brown's books are so sweet! And that is why I adore them. The heroines are so sassy, and the heroes are so rrrrrr!
Lizzy has been doing the nasty withBrown's books are so sweet! And that is why I adore them. The heroines are so sassy, and the heroes are so rrrrrr!
Lizzy has been doing the nasty with her neighbor Toby, but hey they can't be doing it forever. It was fun while it lasted.
Like it ever is that easy. See she needs a fake bf to show peeps she is moving on. Oh girl, that is more trouble than solution! In comes Toby.
But dang! Oh this town, it had me so mad. Like a raccoon caught with it's tail in cactus (I always try this, but I never get them right, Brown gets them right.!) See there are these horrid gossiping church ladies who are all "That man is bad business, you be a sinner now Lizzy. Shame on you." Lizzy stands her ground, but oh those church ladies, I would have slapped them. She is a bigger person than I am. Especially since one's son is no good either, do not thrown stones in a glass house lady! So that is the drama, gossiping old biddies.
And then of course Toby and Lizzy will fall in love when they realise their fake relationship could be more. It is sweet and wonderful.
Oh Tina Tina, you sure got yourself into one big mess.

This book is, what to say, revenge chick-lit, but not really chic-lit, but hey these genres are so on top of each other. I will just get started and you will see.
Tina is an assistant. We are told her boss is crazy, eh, you know Tina, it's your job to assist. Sure he spends a lot of money, but he is rich, he can. Anyway, she steals and pays of her debt. Which, I get the remorse, that is bad! But at the same time that is pocket change. No one would ever notice, and she gets a crap salary anyway, and she does everything for him!
But of course the book does not end there, someone else wants in and then and the and then...our of control!
Still, she does make a new friend, and she meets a guy that she gradually gets to know better.
All while they steal money.
And then the world falls down, the book starts with the end, so that is not a spoiler.
It was really light and I just breezed right through it....more

So I really can't say if the stories in this one are anything like the real ones. I mean the bones of them, since the rest is crazy.
I have no idea what Warlock Holmes really was, I have ideas, but I am all whaat? He is not really human. He knows magic, he sees a lot, he is strange. But then so is that person in that other reality too.
In comes Watson who needs a place to stay, and then he comes to like Warlock and solving weird cases. Cos they are weird, and supernatural.
The book is light, and with a touch of dry humour. It rather amusing and it is divided into 6 bigger cases that they solve together. I enjoyed it and this was a Holmes and Watson that was fun to read about. Especially when Holmes was feeding his rats that were handicapped...told you it was weird....more

The Anderson pack is bad, but Connor is good and he has been in love with a cat forever. Savannah does not see him, silly Savannah, look at the hot wolf! But then the Andersons are assholes, trust me, assholes! As the kidnap her to get an exchange for a wolf.
And that is how Connor and Savannah meet again. Her a captive, him a guard...an angry guard. A guard that will protect her to death. Aww Connor, I do not mind you going all alpha, she really should be protected.
The drama, oh girl, you be stupid. I would have forgiven him. Awwww Connor, he watches and wants her, but wants her to choose. Awwww. And yes we all know she will eventually get that he is the best mate for her, but the road there is fun to watch. He becomes a little less alpha when he understand that a cat can not be pushed, a cat will do whatever the f a cat wants ;)

Rita and her 3 siblings go on a roadtrip to honor the mum. And then the car breaks down and they wont leave it...
She had some serious issues about cooking since her mum wanted to her become like her.
And then there is Jasper, you know what, I liked how the tables were turned. In most books men can just sleep around how much they want, but Jasper actually had a bad rep, a slutty rep, like women get. Fair should be fair. So he has that chip on his shoulder.
Time is short. And then they lived happily ever after. After a few drama moments and hick ups.
I did like this one better than book 1, I had to read my first review and it seems I thought she was a speshul snowflake. I am over that now.
Mostly II did like this one better than book 1, I had to read my first review and it seems I thought she was a speshul snowflake. I am over that now.
Mostly I was all, get it on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously, get it on! But then she is effed up, and he thinks she is good. Ohhh, who wouldn't love that! I so want them to hook up, I really like Simon. He call her his squeaky toy, awwww. He wonders why he even likes her.
Meg, she is tolerable I guess.
But I am in this for the story, and for Simon and for the rest! The Others rule, and why they stand humans I do not know. We just disappoint. They should kill all humans, they are really a waste of good Others space.
Oh...I have said nothing about the story, well Meg sees things, the blood prophets must be dealt with. Humans suck! Wipe them out!
I'd read more for sure. They need to get it on!...more
