Every single book Andrews has written has captivated me completely. Someone who doesn't know me would think I would be acting over the top about this, but I truly feel blessed that we have Gordan and Ilona. Their characters are real, and vibrant. Their command of their readers hearts is flawless. Their books always carry the perfect amount of humor at just the right times. I truly treasure their work.
Please excuse my gushing, I feel this review is towards all of their works as a whole. So I should really be talking about this one book. I get a little carried away when I think about Ilona Andrews' books.
One Fell Sweep was amazing! I will confess I read most of this book while I should have been working, but there was no way I was going to be able to get anything done while I knew an Ilona Andrews book sat unread. There was never a dull moment, never a time where the story dragged. I love every moment of this book, my only complaint being that it had to end.
I cried. At work.
Andrews knows just what heart strings to tug on. Without spoilers, I will say that I loved how everyone had their own interaction with her after the seed. Everyone had their small moment that meant so so much, the each showed they cared in a way that made perfect since to their character. The universe Andrews has created is so real, not everything is beautiful, not everything is alien and strange. It has such a amazing a balance, and oh the Mystery!(yes, with a capital 'M') We get so much information about this universe, and are craving more. The possibilities are endless. I cannot help but hope this series gets as many, if not more, books than their Kate Daniels series! (The only issue I see with that is being able to think up so many more sweep related titles! haha!)...more

A comfort every time I turned the first page onto a new addition of a world I myself had fled to in time of need. I remember diving head first into these books and loosing myself in their pages, rereading over and over. Sometimes to escape my own life if just for a few hours. Each year the reread would talk longer and longer as new books would join the shelf. My books are organized in shelves according to favorites. The top reserved for my most loved titles, I'm proud to say that when I look at them now, the 15 Morganville vampire books take up about half of the space on the top shelf. And that is where they will stay. It must sound silly to others, but I have to still say it. I feel a bit lost now that its over, I'm never going to hear another smart ass comment from Shane, or hear the latest on another one of Myrnin's crazy tales.
When I read the final words right after the playlist section I turned up "Radioactive", looked to the ceiling, and just cried.
Another review I read expressed the same feelings I did- "I cannot believe it has come to an end. I've been reading the Morganville series for years, it was comforting to think that every year I would come back to read about Claire's crazy adventures, Myrnin's insane driving skills, Michael's dreamyness, Eve's gothic soul, and Shane's oftentimes moronic state of mind. Morganville is a dear old friend, and I am sad to have to say goodbye."
I know that I seem quite attached, but this series stayed with me for so long, I can't help but feel like that. I know that I will never let go of these books. I will still be rereading them until i'm old and gray. So thank you Mrs. Caine, your stories have impacted me in a way that I cannot describe. So, its not "Good bye" Morganville, it is "Until next time."...more

There is a freaking DEMON with wings and a ethereal sword attacking cops, who are shooting back. In this situation would there be a crowd of people listening to the demon & vampire talk or would they be RUNNING FOR THEIR LIVES?! In this case the crowd laughs at a comment Merit makes to the crazy demon. WHAT? That makes zero sense. There is no way anyone would be staying, let alone watching and listening." 01/10 page 193 70.0% "I think I know why I stopped keeping up with the series after this book. There is just so much information, so much happening all at once its pretty overwhelming. All these problems are trying to be solved all at once when they don't connect at all. Its hard to keep interest in one problem when a completely separate one throws itself to the front. Too many unanswered questions just gets annoying and tiring as hell."

She really gets on my nerves sometimes at how she treats the men in her life, want to see her really caring for someone and not screaming at any guy that she likes. I hate that her relationships are more fighting then anything else and yet they still work. Agh, I don't know If I'll be able to finish the third book....more

I will always love these books because, first of all, its an adult book with no sex scenes. I find that lately the YA books i'm reading all sound that same New girl comes to town, popular bad boy pays attention to her and only her for some odd reason, they fall in 'love' within a few days, risk their lives for each other, learn a great life lesson and make out. GAH! Thats why I've been reading more adult books lately, even if the sex scenes bother me It still better then YA because it had a much more mature feel to it. This book was mature and fresh with no sex scenes (yay!) and deep relationships....more

I hope there are more coming! I don't think I will ever get Tired of these books. Also, you have no Idea how happy it made me to see the first song on the playlist for the books was "Game On" from The Guild. I didn't know Caine knew about The Guild!...more
