Yes, there was a lot of dialog and it was flowery and sometimes could be overdone but I felt it fit the story. Jet and Goldie, being opposites, were perfect for each other. Jet's self-assured, agressive, "laugh in the face of the world" attitude was what Goldie's less confident, quiet, more meek character needed and they balanced each other well. They were like Yin and Yang. The sex scenes were hot, minus all the talking. The underlying story line was interesting despite not having a great deal of depth but I don't think this story was written to be some earth shattering tome either so I had not issues with that. There was also very little to no angst at all. It was a light-hearted, sexty, fun read with two really hot and sexy rock stars. I you like rockstars and want a light read that isn't overly long, this is a good one for you. (less)

If you are looking for something that is light and fluffy, then this is the one for you. I won't go into what it's about cause other reviews do but its got a good HEA and the other characters have been set up nicely for a book of their own. I would love to hear more about all of these guys.(less)

If someone is looking for a book full of hot steamy romance though, this is not it. It's pretty hot at the end, but that's not really what this book is about, which is ok. I found the first part of the book to be a bit emotionally draining though. I don't mean that to be bad though. Dan spends the first part of the book dealing with the guilt of moving on while his lover of 5 years lives on in a vegetative state. And then while he is away in California dealing with the possibility of "moving on" with his life, his lover dies. He deals with the guilt and a great deal of grief over loosing Justin and it was very heart breaking. Did part of him maybe want him to die so he could move on? There are some tear jerking scenes at the visitation, funeral, and also the scenes where Dan visits with Justin. The second part of the book is much lighter hearted when Dan moves to California. He still keeps Justin close to his heart and I appreciated that. But he knows he has to move on. The secondary characters all seemed to fit in the storyline very well. Everyone had their place and no one seemed to be filler. Evan and Jeff are very likeable guys. The 3 balance each other well. Evan being eccentric & a bit possessive, Dan wanting to be loved and Jeff being a solid cornerstone...the glue. I also liked reading about the horses and the competitions. I have owned horses so it was fun reading about them and I live very near Louisville and have family who live there and have been there many times myself so it's fun to read books when you have more of a personal tie to them. It helps the story to seem more real. I can't wait for the sequel to come out next week to find out what happens with Dan, Evan and Jeff's relationship.(less)

I would highly recommend reading both back to back, as they are both fairly short reads. The author does a good job with flashbacks and reminding you of what happened in the first book, but if you wait too long, you loose a bit of the magic, as was the case for me.
In this sequel, Tate a/k/a "Talker" and Brian, with the help of a psychologist, are learning to deal with what happened to Talker in Talker. It turns out that Brian had gone and dealt with it in his own way and his way of dealing with it ends up putting him in the hospital. This leaves Talker on his own, without Brian, his "Rock", to help him deal with this new emotional truama on top of old hurts. Talker learns that there are other people around him that he can lean on and that he's a much stronger person than he realized. He takes some really powerful steps to protect Brian and another friend and punish ultimately punish someone who had hurt him in Talker. It was a nice "comeupance", and a sweet happily-ever-after.
My only complaint is with the flashbacks. I prefer there to be something that indicates you're going into a flashback, like astericks. It may also be that I'm was reading on an iPhone where formatting tends to be off. But I would be reading and suddenly, abruptly, I would be in a flashback, so it sometimes seemed disjointed. So it wasn't the flashbacks I had issues with, just the formatting. Otherwise, a sweet story with a powerful message. I waffled between a 4 and 4.5 on the stars. (less)

Ian and Joel are very much the opposites that attract. Ian is a math genius who, despite all his smarts, has little practical skills and is a total scatter-brain. Joel is a neat and tidy, structured, computer programer. Joel reluctantly leaves Ian on his own for a few days while he goes to visit his family. While there, he realizes that he is in love with his roommate, although he's never had a relationship with a man before. When his roommate calls, distraught over their sick cat, Joel rushes back home to him, hoping that he can make Ian see what he has come to realize... that they are perfect for each other. Little did he know, Ian has been thinking about him all along.
If you are looking for something that is uplifting, light hearted, and easy reading that can be read in one sitting, this is the perfect book. Ian and Joel and a very cute and sweet couple and this was a really fun story to read. (less)

I literally read this one on my Kindle while walking around doing other things because I just could not stop reading. There was mystery, blackmail, suspence, murder, plot-twists, lots of passion, heart break, dirty family secrets, all ending in a great happily-ever-after.
In order to inherit his share of the family multi-million dollar oil company, Riley must marry someone "for love" and stay married for a year. So to gall his father, he blackmails Jack Campbell, the gay son of his father's biggest enemy. Riley uses secrets that make it so that Jack can't refuse so off to Canada they go to get married.
It doesn't take long for things to start unraveling around them and for deep, dark family secrets to come to the surface. We soon learn why the Campbells and the Hayes hate each other and the emotions boil to a head... and to murder.
The pace of this book rolls along at break neck speed. Hold on tight for an exciting ride. Although Riley is straight, and a playboy, he's had some light experience with men. Jack is attracted to Riley. There is a spark that Jack knows how to work. They are hot together. These two families are deeply entertwined and the secrets that come to light are very interesting to see as the story unfolds. It's a bit of a mystery. It felt a bit like Dallas if you remember that show. The other characters in the story really added a richness and depth to the story. This is one book that would make a truly awesome movie. Truly breath taking and time well spent. I'll definitely be reading this one over and over again! If you've not read this one, you should.(less)

A few days later, they meet again, but this time, James makes sure to ask Brycen out. This is the start of a very tenuous relationship. It's tenuous because both are so reserved and have so little faith in the stability of their relationship. It's enough to make you want to strangle the two of them if you didn't like them so much. Both of them have good reason not to trust anyone though so you keep hoping they will realize what they have and move past what's holding them back. They do have some issues that come up that very nearly do wreck their relationship but thanks to perseverance, it doesn't end it all.
If you are in the mood for angst, this one will do it for you. (less)

It's been a while since I read a vampire story so it was fun to get back into the genre and with one so well written. I loved the journal entries of Donte and Auselmo and reading about their lives all those centuries ago. It takes the whole book to get Donte and Adin together but it was worth it. I look forward to reading the next. (less)

I like the dynamic between Sam and Jory. Sam is gruff and Jory is a sweetheart and it works. Thanks to their "ups and down" in their relationship, there is a good bit of angst...which I LOVE. This one ends on one serious cliff hanger. I would advise having book 3 ready to start or you'll be sorry ;0)(less)
