Not only does it have an awesome cover, but two things I've been waiting a VERY long time for happened in this volume.
First, Hinata confessed her love to Naruto. All the things she said to him just honestly made me tear up. I thought it was an amazing moment. She risked her life to protect him, even though she knew she didn't stand a chance against Pain. I'm so proud of her! Now I'm waiting to see what will happen between the two next.
Second, Naruto found out that Yondaime is his father. And Yondaime is the one who told him. Yes, he actually met his dead father! Out of all the people who could have told Naruto, I was not expecting Yondaime. Although I didn't imagine their interaction to play out the way it did, it was still a nice & unexpected reunion.

Sometimes there are books that end up being very different than what I first imagined from reading the book's summary. This book is definitely one of them. I love when that happens because usually it ends up being even better than I imagined. :)
I loved Drea, Justin, and Naomi. They were awesome and good people. I may not have exactly their problems, but I do have my own, and I could easily relate to their characters. When I read the book's summary and looked at the cover (which fit perfectly, btw), I thought the entire book would be dark and serious. But it wasn't. On almost every page there was something that cracked me up! Not that I'm saying there aren't any dark and serious moments because there definitely is. And I definitely cried. I still feel like crying. :'(
Music is a part of this book, but if you're worried you won't recognize the musicians, it's okay. It doesn't take over, which I liked. Although, honestly, I wouldn't have minded knowing more about the music Drea and Justin listened to because I seem to have a similar taste in music. I want Justin's Björk shirt (heck, just give me Justin! heh), and I have the urge to listen to Snow Patrol's "Somewhere a Clock is Ticking."
So I'll just end by saying that if you're looking for a book with great characters and a book that will most likely make you laugh and cry, then I recommend this book to you.(less)

So different from what I imagined it would be like. I went through so many emotions reading this book. Just like the previous two books. But I got to say that while reading some of the last few chapters of this one...I wanted more. I wouldn't say it was rushed. Maybe I didn't want it to end. Maybe I was reading too fast. I don't know how to explain it. It probably needs to sink in, and I might need to reread it again. :'(
Anyway, yes, I loved it. Mockingjay had some really amazing moments. And of course, there were a lot of dark, sad, scary moments that shocked me and almost made me cry. I could go on and on, but I need to eat and am still a bit shocked. So I will say that the ending was bittersweet. Got a bit teary-eyed. It was a great, interesting end to an awesome series.(less)

It had some sad moments, but it didn't leave me feeling all depressed after I finished because there were a lot of happy moments/memories from Anna that made it all better. I liked that. :)
Random: I love postcards. So I thought it was cool that it was mentioned throughout the book. XD(less)

That was my reaction, anyway, to the majority of the book. Maybe I had such a strong reaction because I started the book not realizing this was a paranormal. Yes, I read the summary, but obviously it went over my head. This is what I assumed it would be about: The goth boy, Varen, would have some mental issues (like schizophrenia), and the popular cheerleader girl, Isobel, will fall in love with him and find help for him. And they would all live happily ever after.
I mean, yeah, they are opposites, and they do fall in love, but it was not that simple. It's dark and creepy and eerie. A horror paranormal. (Of course, I should have realized that with Edgar Allan Poe involved). Which made it very exciting for me because I had no idea what would happen next and how this would end.
There were some other things I just did not notice before I read the book. Like the length. It is 500+ pages! Which is not a bad thing because Isobel & Varen's relationship and everything in the story isn't rushed. And at the same time, it didn't feel slow. I felt like something interesting was always happening. And I really liked Kelly Creagh's writing. It was like watching a movie.
Now for the other detail I missed. Actually, I just didn't know. I'm pretty sure not much people know, so let me tell you. This is going to be a series. A trilogy, apparently. I know! That was really surpring to me. You would think that a book this long would have everything resolved by the end, but nope, not the case. I will not spoil the ending, but let me just say that when I read the last line in the book, I was thinking, There should be sequel. There has to be a sequel. There NEEDS to be a sequel. o_o
So I haven't revealed much about the story. Well, I don't want to repeat the summary, so I will say this: I was very impressed with the book. I thought the story was really unique and original. Isobel and Varen were great and likeable characters. I wanted to hug Varen! I was proud of Isobel (she deserves a hug too), because she worked so hard to save Varen. Basically, it all goes down October 31. Halloween. But it's not over. Just wait till January 19, the day of Poe's birth.

I checked this book out from the library, and I'm seriously going to buy my own copy now. I can't even describe how this book made me feel. This was just... The most freakin' amazing book I've ever read. I loved it so much.
I really don't know what else to say because I'm still in Wow... This was so awesome! mode. o_o(less)

I love Thomas. Out of all the boys in Saving Francesca, it was definitely Thomas who stood out to me. Really happy to know more about him and his situation, including the rest of his family's. Melina Marchetta is always so great with family and friend relationships.
I also loved the parts with Thomas and the other characters from Saving Francesca, especially Tara, the girls, and Will Trombal. Awesome friends and hilarious moments. The new characters were great as well. Oh, and I can't forget to mention the violinist (I kept expecting Me? to come up, but I guess that isn't his standard response anymore. haha), Heckle & Jeckle, and the Asian. I was fangirling every single time they were mentioned. Could not help myself. ;P
Like every time I finish a Melina Marchetta novel, I wish it didn't have to end. But I love that there's always hope in the end and that you just know it will all eventually work out for the characters. Seriously can't wait to read Marchetta's next book. Love them all!

I didn't even know where to start. All I wanted to do was pick up the book and reread it. Because it was amazing, heartbreaking, and beautiful. I loved it even more than If I Stay.
"She kissed me good-bye. She told me that she loved me more than life itself. Then she stepped through security. She never came back."
I loved reading from Adam's point of view. The writing was so, so good. Some moments were really intense. And I felt like I could feel everything he was going through. His love, anger, loneliness, and anxiety. I just wanted to comfort him and tell him everything was going to be okay. Adam's emotions were so strong that, even though I love Mia, when he got angry and upset at her I couldn't help but to get angry and upset with her too. Like Adam, all I wanted to know was why she left and why she did this to him. When Mia finally told him, I was shocked. I was not expecting what she said, and it hurt so much. But it made complete sense, and I couldn't hold it against Mia.
Like Mia's story, the majority of Adam's story is told in one day and includes flashbacks, which were really great. But Where She Went is a bit different. There are chapters this time. The book is longer. And there is some other things. But I don't want to reveal too much, and I won't say whether or not Adam and Mia have a happy ending. I will say though that I believe Gayle Forman gave us everything we wanted to know and more. Closure being one of those things.
I hope I haven't overhyped the book. I don't want anyone to feel disappointed. (Although, I do think the hype is deserved, and I believe it lives up to it, but this is only how I felt.) If you loved If I Stay, I don't see how you won't love Where She Went. And if you didn't love the previous book, I think you should seriously give this sequel a chance. Where She Went made me appreciate If I Stay even more.
Thanks to Penguin and LibraryThing for the opportunity to read this ARC. And of course, the biggest thanks goes to Gayle Forman! For writing this amazing book that a lot of us readers desperately needed.(less)
