I was a bit disappointed that Nick ran away scared, but I guess what can you expect of a human in a Witches world. I was expecting a little more from this character then she has written since he seems to mysterious and he was all into the demon summoning thing. I really expected him to last a bit longer.
Of course that opened up the world for Kisten! Man is that one hot Vamp! I was so delighted that Kisten and Rachel's relationship blossomed into something more. From the moment I read about him in this series I liked him, even tho it was written that Rachel didn't at first.
Of course I am partial to vampires and that might be why :P The fact that he is a good friend of Ivy's helped out a lot in why I like the character, because I get the feeling that anyone Ivy likes is a good person.
The fallout with Jenks really upset me because I don't feel Jenk's anger is justified. He didn't even give Rachel a chance to explain the circumstances of how she found out and why she is keeping a tight lip on it. I can understand him being slightly upset but to leave the team? Pshaw..
Though to Harrison's credit that is probably the reaction she wanted out of her readers :P
The characters in this series are completely lovable and very well built and the world is just an amazing place to read about. I can't wait to get the next book in this series.. Harrison has me hooked! (less)

I am very glad that I love the series so much that I did, because Harrison has redeemed herself with this book. Not 100% though, as I am STILL peeved that she killed Kisten.
Finally Rachel is learning to accept things for what they are and she has a better understanding of who and what she is. FINALLY.
The self righteous *can't do this because its bad* was getting old.
I still wonder what is going to happen with her love life, and I am very grateful that Harrison didn't up and just throw in a love interest for her so soon after the death of Kisten. I would have stopped reading the series had she gone that route.
The world just gets better and better and the storyline took an interesting twist that I was very happy with. I love a book that can give me a ton of action and character building and this series has that hands down.
I have to say that while I have other favorites, because of Harrison's world/character/word building this series has shot up to the #1 position.
With this series you don't want to put the book down and even when things do not go as you want them to, she delivers an awesome story with solid characters that you find yourself completely lost in.(less)

With the ending of the last book I was wondering if it was going to disappoint or not and well it did NOT.
Plot/Story was solid and filled with action. Characters were solid and believable. The mother, well just as annoying as ever! I was really glad when Bones and Cat put her in her place!
There is a sex scene in this book that was so damn hot, I think it was the best one I have ever read. Mainly because of how and why it happened and just the little things and wording that Frost adds to her writing that just makes it all the better.
Very good book, I can't wait to read the rest!(less)

I simply adore Kisten and how good of a match he is for Rachel. I sort of seen this coming, though I had a feeling it might have gone toward Trent's direction at one point in time. At least, I thought it would have made for a wonderful twist.
When I starting reading that Nick was coming back into her life I really got worried that her weakness for him would end up ruining her relationship with Kisten. The idea of the focus I thought was brilliant. It brought the weres into the story a lot more then they had already been, which in turn makes for a much larger threat to Rachel and the gang.
I do also love how she is getting more into the darker arts. I know the story is written to where it's *bad for the soul*, but am not really buying it.. and I think that a balance can be worked out as far as her magic goes. It's written in a way to make it seem like she can accomplish more then others with several different magics so I can't see how that can be bad for her.
I have an issue with Rachel being such a twit sometimes.. lol But she is still very lovable, as are all of the other characters in the series.
This book went in a direction I was very pleased with and I hope Harrison continues to deliver as much as she has so far. One thing I hope to see in the future is a more romantic type relationship with Ivy. I know Rachel keeps saying she is'nt wired that way but I don't buy that either. And all throughout the series its been written that they work well together. So it just *fits*.
Another great book from a superb author that has quickly become one of my favorites.
I had waited so long to start this series, thinking that it would not be as good as some others I had been reading - but to my surprise it has far surpassed (less)
