WOW...just WOW! I loved, loved, loved this book! Cat and Bones are back with bite in One Foot in the Grave, and as amazing as the first book was, this one’s even better.
Cat’s kick-ass vampire slaying is ramped up much higher this go round, and we also get a nice appetizingly, mouth-wateringly luscious, juicy Bones fix that had me melting like an ice cream cone on a hot summer day...Y-U-M! There’s lots of fast paced, high-octane action, witty laugh-out-loud humor, sarcastic, hilarious dialogue, an uproariously fun catfight, and smokin’ hot romance, including one delectably erotic sex scene that almost necessitated calling the fire department to hose me down when I nearly burst into flames! Seriously, it’s one of the hottest scenes I’ve ever read because it consists of some very delicious, tantalizing possibilities/fantasies (fangs included) of having a doting vampire for a lover whose sole desire is to deliver ultimate, exquisite pleasure. Bones is flat-out one of the sexiest, most deliciously yummy bad-boy romantic heroes ever, and he definitely rivals and exceeds Edward and The Brothers for my very top favorite, hottest vamp! Marry me, Bones!!!!
Here are a couple of funny quotes from the book that I liked:
Cat chasing down a vamp, (page 111)
...“cursing my heels and debating whether it was faster to stop and take them off--damn ankle straps!--or keep running with the potential neck breakers. Wouldn’t that make a charming epitaph? Here lies Cat. Killed not by fang, but Ferragamos.”
Bones trying to prove that Cat still has feelings for him, (page 112)
“It was if you were sending me a bloomin’ valentine.”
So if you like bad-ass, butt-kicking heroines, uber sexy vampire heroes, and a fun paranormal/urban fantasy romance with a terrific mix of thrilling action, dark humor, and hot sex, give Cat and Bones a read...you won’t be disappointed! Verrry big 5 stars!

I’m a huge Night Huntress series fan, especially when it comes to my main luv Bones, and I loved yummy Spade’s story First Drop of Crimson. But I’ll admit that in the previous books, although I found Mencheres intriguing for sure, I didn’t really envision him as a leading romantic hero, mainly because I always pictured him in a sort of androgynous way. With his long hair, elegant, regal composure, aloof disposition, and eerie, massive powers, I’d previously imagined Ra in the movie Stargate, as portrayed by actor Jaye Davidson, for some reason.
But now after reading more about Mencheres in Eternal Kiss of Darkness, especially his skills as a lover...Yowza, I definitely don’t see him as asexual anymore! Now I picture him more like Oded Fehr from the Mummy movies, only with a bit lighter skin and younger.
I really enjoyed the passionate relationship between Mencheres and Kira, and she’s such a strong, giving, funny, and honorable heroine that she nearly stole the show, but something about Mencheres still remained a bit detached somehow. I felt like he began to reveal himself and show more emotion towards the latter part of the book, but then unfortunately the ending was a bit abrupt and with no epilogue, I was left wanting a bit more.
The love scenes were nice and steamy, borderline erotic in a couple of places, and there were some funny moments, but the humor was definitely not as strong as in the previous books. Cat and Bones played small roles and were a delight as always, but I was disappointed that Spade and Denise were completely absent from this. Vlad Tepesh made his presence memorable as usual, and I’m definitely looking forward to his story, hopefully next?
Overall, this is my least favorite of the Night Huntress and Night Huntress World series so far, but it’s still a sexy, entertaining paranormal romance worthy of 4 ½...almost 5 stars!

This is a deliciously sexy, fun debut read in the new Succubus Diaries series about angels and vampires and a reluctant succubus caught in the middle of their ancient battle.
Jackie Brighton’s quiet, mundane life as an introverted museum docent gets turned upside down when she wakes up one morning in a dumpster with a massive hangover and only fuzzy memories of how she got there. She has vague flashes of having her first ever one-night stand with a man so hot that he puts Brad Pitt to shame (but mostly only recalls his...ahem...porn star quality package). Things get a lot weirder when she encounters her mystery hottie, Noah Gideon, whose version of the post-coital brush-off is rather strange because apparently he’s a fallen angel, she was bitten by a vampire, and now she’s a sex-crazed succubus...riiight. But when she goes from a size fourteen, 34B to a size six, 34DD overnight and suddenly has guys drooling over her and an insatiable lust that just won’t quit, Jackie realizes that Noah’s nutty claim might not be so crazy after all.
Jackie has hunkalicious fallen angel Noah to scratch her ‘Itch’ when needed and new gal pal Remy Summore to teach her the succubus ropes, so maybe life as an immortal sexpot won’t be so bad after all? But it doesn’t take long before she lands in hot water with malevolent vampire queen Nitocris, who assigns wickedly sexy, tempting bad-boy vampire Zane as Jackie’s personal guardian, finds herself smack in the middle of an end-of-the-world type battle between angels, fallen angels, and vampires over an ancient halo, and then life as a ‘Suck’ truly does start to suck.
Jackie’s abrupt transformation from a plain, mousy, museum nerd to a self-conscious bombshell, sex kitten is rather funny, and her fellow succubus and new BFF Remy, who has learned to embrace and celebrate her inner slut, is a total hoot. Remy flat-out cracked me up, and she’s the kind of friend you’d want to go shopping and out for margaritas with.
Jackie’s got two potential lovers: fallen angel Noah, who’s the straight-laced, protective, savior type, and black leather trench coat wearing James Dean-esque bad-boy vampire Zane, who might be hiding something behind his flirtatious, carefree demeanor and seeming indifference, but how’s a horny succubus supposed to choose?
Gentlemen Prefer Succubi is a devilishly entertaining, sexy romp with lots of wicked hot love scenes and sarcastic, naughty humor. It’s a total smutastic (and I mean that in the best way), decadent treat that will have you laughing one minute and fanning yourself the next. My only (minor) complaint is that although it’s marketed as a paranormal romance, no official “I love you’s” are declared and it has a “happy for now” ending rather than a true HEA, so it’s closer to an urban fantasy romance in that regard. I’m looking forward to the next book, Succubi Like It Hot, which fortunately comes out later this month! 4 stars! (less)
