OH HOLY &%@^*#$!!!! I’m feeling very parched and suddenly thirsting for a sexy, salty, sweaty Studtastic man chest!!!! And looking oh so HOT in unbuttoned, perfectly fitted, crotch-hugging, low-slung faded denim jeans, too?! *Be still my male fantasy lovin’ heart!*
Thoughts After Reading
I loved the first two books in the series, particularly The Perfect Play, and although I enjoyed this, it didn’t quite live up to those or my super high expectations. Ty is a sexy, sweet, yummy-as-sin hero and there’s no doubt that Jaci Burton can pen some seriously scorching hot sex scenes, but Jenna annoyed me to the point that it impacted my overall satisfaction and kept this from earning a 5-star rating.
Until around the 80-85% mark, Jenna earned a solid 7 on my ‘girl get your head out of your ass’ and ‘I wanna slap/smack a b*tch silly’ meters. Her immature, judgmental, stubborn resistance to Ty, even though he’s a total sweetheart, perfect for her, and a skilled, generous stud in the sack, just because he happens to be a pro hockey player and she’s staunchly anti-sports, at least in terms of being adamant about not dating athletes, got really aggravating. She finally put on her big girl panties and fought for a relationship and future with Ty, but it sure took her a long time to wise and woman up.
Ty and Jenna had combustible chemistry and were definitely compatible when it came to sex. They shared insatiable lust but I didn’t really feel the love or romance as strongly between them. And I really wanted an epilogue. Still, it’s an entertaining erotic sports romance that’s set off the smoke alarm steamy and also had me shedding some tears when Jenna finally opened up to her family and Ty. I can’t wait for Cole’s book, Playing to Win, to come out!

Thoughts Before Reading NOT that I'm complaining at all about the masculine perfection of this cover 'cause HELLO, just look at those mouthwateringly yummy shoulders and biceps...GRRR! But, don't baseball players usually have a little more junk in their trunk and thicker thighs? I think I have an obligation to read this (as purely scientific study of course) to find out. *naughty grin*
Thoughts After Reading After careful review and scientific analysis, I have determined that this cover model, albeit delicious in his own right, isn’t a totally adequate representation for the studtastic hotness that is Gavin Riley.
Allow me to offer some additional...ahem...visual demonstrations.
Gavin thinking about Liz:

Gavin lazing around in jeans:
I really enjoyed this, although not quite as much as The Perfect Play. Gavin and Liz are seriously smokin’ hot together and scorch the sheets, the balcony, the shower, the floor, the couch, the kitchen counter, and just about any and every surface they touch. Gavin is yummy of course, but I was surprised by how much I ended up liking and rooting for Liz after her outright display of utter bitchiness in The Perfect Play. The author does a good job explaining her hidden insecurity and vulnerability and making her into a sympathetic heroine. Mick was a total d*ck, no pun intended, to Gavin and Liz and tried his best to tear them apart. Luckily he eventually came around because otherwise I was going to have to pummel him, which would have been a damn shame considering how much I loved him in The Perfect Play. 4 ½ stars!

OHHH-MYYY-GAWWWD!! I have absolutely zero saliva left after staring at this epitome of cover HOTness! Seriously, call a doctor quick 'cause I think I've swallowed my tongue.
Thoughts After Reading:
I think a review for this book is about the equivalent of crotchless panties or raspberry sauce on chocolate cake...totally unnecessary. I mean with a tongue swallowing, eyes bulging cover like this, who really gives a @%*$ what the story is, right? Well, the even better news is that it’s actually a great erotic romance with a too “perfect”, too sexy, to die for hero that can only be found in Romancelandia. And yes, the sex is as satisfying and as smokin’ HOT as the cover! 5 studtastic stars!(less)
